I'm really torn about this review because the actual massage was great, and the facility was very nide, but the experience leading up to it was honestly pretty frustrating. My mom and I booked massages and got there early so we could enjoy the amenities and get into a relaxed headspace before our scheduled massages. Unfortunately, we found it nearly impossible to decompress due to ongoing conversations throughout these spaces. From discussions about kids' sports practices in the jacuzzi to work-related chatter in the sauna, we could hear it everywhere, even back in the locker area. There are signs asking people to keep quiet in these spaces, so while some guests were using "spa voices" any constant conversation disrupted the peaceful atmosphere when we were trying to rest and decompress. It would've been nice if employees working the area could enforce quiet conduct, because clearly the signage alone wasn't cutting it. We basically gave up on unwinding before our massages, which was disappointing since that's half the reason we came early. The massage itself was relaxing and the therapists were wonderful, but the spa experience was not it. I was also disappointed that as we were paying for our services at the end, not a single employee asked how our experience was. I wouldn't be writing this otherwise had someone cared to ask how we enjoyed it. If you're just coming for a treatment and heading straight out, you'll probably love it. (Perhaps try going on a weekday so it's less busy where you can avoid the unending chatter.) But if you're hoping to actually use the amenities as the peaceful escape they're supposed to be, hopefully you have a better experience than we did. read more

My mom had to put her cat to sleep that she had for 17 years, and the following day (6/6/24) I booked us both massages at BW for the same time slot to try to help cheer her up. I get called back for my massage, but my mom's masseuse left her sitting there for 30 minutes! No one came out and said anything or explained why my mom's masseuse was running so far behind. When I got out of my massage I was looking for my mom everywhere but couldn't find her. I checked the showers, steam room, Whirlpool, restrooms and quiet room. I spent at least 10 minutes looking for her before I gave up. I finally bumped into my mom and asked her where she had been. That's when she told me they left her sitting there for at least 30 minutes before calling her back. That's the reason why I couldn't find her anywhere after my massage because we didn't get out of our massages at the same time as planned. My 72-year old mom was visibly upset and even more anxious than she normally is over this ordeal. She told me she was waiting and waiting for someone to call out her name and they never did. She said she felt like she did something wrong, and that she was left behind. I felt awful after hearing this, and I felt guilty for bringing her here be it was my idea to book a massage at BW. She said all the other women got called back one-by-one, but they never called her name. We were supposed to relax and bond/grieve together after our massages, but couldn't because the unprofessionals that work at BW decided to do things on their own time with zero communication or regard to people's appointment times. The entire experience was ruined for both of us. At that point we just wanted to get dressed and go home. During checkout, I asked to speak to the manager on duty to find out why my senior mom was left sitting all alone for so long past her scheduled appointment time with zero explanation. The MOD didn't know about any of this. And apparently there's also supposed to be a guest coordinator type of person that's supposed to control the flow of traffic in the women's spa, coordinate with front desk staff, guests, and therapists. So this coordinator person ALSO completely failed to do their job, too. I understand things come up. We suddenly have a family emergency or we suddenly get ill at work and we're stuck in the bathroom, etc. But again, no one communicated anything to my mom as to why her masseuse was running so late. The masseuse herself didn't offer any explanation, either. How is it fair that if we're running 10 minutes late (for whatever reason) then our treatment time gets cut 10 minutes short, yet we still get charged full price? Yet these employees can do whatever they want with zero regard to our busy schedules?! The manager apologized and offered us 20% off for the inconvenience. Just 20%. That's it. I told her if an employee is this unprofessional then maybe they shouldn't be working there, and that no one should EVER leave a senior sitting there all alone for so long past her appointment time with zero communication. My mom told me that she didn't get up to go check with front desk to see what was going on because she was afraid that as soon as she left that room they'd finally come and call her and she'd miss them. What's worse, is that the entire time I was getting my massage I was freezing in the treatment room! My therapist was ok. Not great. They had the a/c blasting on me the entire time! I said something to the therapist and she said she couldn't do anything to adjust the thermostat. So she offered to turn the bed heater up but then realized that it was already on max. Every time she drew the sheet back to expose a limb or my back I was dreading it because the room was colder than Antarctica! She was cold too but at least she was moving around and able to stay warmer than I was! The tacky outdated brass fixtures and small, dingy tiles in the showers, whirlpool, and all over the women's locker room scream 1994. For as much as they charge for their massages and use of their facility there should be way more professional employees working there and much newer/cleaner looking spa. I will never return to this location again. I've been so busy that I haven't had time to post this review until now. All this time later it still irks me. read more

My sweet boyfriend is so smart and thoughtful. For Christmas he gifted me with a generous gift card to Burke Williams for me to relax and recharge. I'm always making jokes about going to Burke Williams when he's busy... but I guess we can turn that into a reality now. I have been to the Orange location of Burke Williams, but I wanted to explore the one in Mission Viejo to compare. This location is at the Kaleidoscope area off the 5 fwy at Crown Valley. If possible park on the upper level of the parking garage, or if you park on the lower level, take the elevator to the 5th floor. The entrance of this Burke Williams is actually in the parking garage. I was immediately greeted by Kim at front desk. She checked me in and gave me a tour of the facilities since it was my first visit to this location. This location is smaller than the location in Orange, so there is less foot traffic and you get more of a private experience. They still have a jacuzzi, steam room, sauna, showers, lockers, a quiet room, and of course the treatment rooms. On this visit I spent about 3 and a half hours at the spa. The first hour and a half was enjoying the amenities including their amazing showers with strong water pressure, complimentary razers and shaving cream. Loved the jacuzzi. Dipped into the sauna room and steam rooms just to check it out. Ohh I looove the aromatherapy cold towels that's in their fridge. It helps cool you off to offset some of the warm amenities. And then my treatment was 80 minutes. And then I spent the remaining time with the vanity stations blow drying and styling my hair. Then of course check out. As for the treatment itself I had the 80-minute Burke Williams Experience Massage ($285 regular price/$220 member price). This massage is an upgraded version of the pure relaxation massage with the added touch of the essential oils, weighted heat packs, and Chinese medicinal herb scrub to aid with relaxation. My massage therapist was very kind leading me to the room and making sure I was comfortable. The robes were being heated for afterwards during my treatment. All the usual special touches of a Burke Williams. So I did ask for extra attention for a few areas since we have the 80 minute, which should allow plenty of time for extra attention in the areas I requested. I felt like my hands and arms did not get the attention and pressure I wanted to provide relief to my problem area. Otherwise it was a great massage. Good use of oil, nice hand movements, very relaxing. As a standard massage, if I didn't ask for any deviances it was have been perfect... but... the price of this massage is equivalent to 2-3 massages elsewhere, so my expectations are naturally higher. It was a great massage, but maybe not as great as my other Burke Williams Experiences that I have enjoyed multiple times throughout the years. Oh one other small thing that's different from this location and the Orange location is that they didn't have any fruits in the women's spa area. I had to exit the spa and go to the front to grab fruit. I know this is minor but the devils are in the details when it comes to these high priced facilities. You check out at the end. My gift card came with some day pass voucher than the customer service line I inquired with prior mentioned I would get a voucher when I redeem it in person. A few days later I remembered and called them just to note that I did not receive it and the customer service rep said they would notate my account. I personally prefer to pay in the beginning so I can just leave if I didn't order any add-ons. After the service I'm so relaxed I really don't want to babysit making sure my gift was redeemed correctly. Following my visit here, I actually went to the Pasadena location and found that this location is better than Pasadena but not as nice as Orange. I like the quieter experience at this location, but the Orange location is still my primary and preferred location. I would still come here if there wasn't an opening at my desired time in Orange, but not enough for this to be my primary location. read more

Came here for my birthday and it was my first time ever. I was so relaxed and loved every single second. My boyfriend got me a prenatal massage so I got that, along with a pregnancy safe bath. The bath was LOVELY. It came with fresh fruit, lemonade, water, hot tea, cucumbers, and an ice cold towel. The ambiance was perfect. The gal who did my massage was amazing and so sweet. Husband and I decided to treat ourselves at this location, but the masseuse I got was SUCH a chatty Cathy that she got so absorbed in talking to me and rushed through the rest of the massage close to the end. Her pressure was fine, but I felt like she could have done more for what I paid for, and I didn't know how to interrupt her to tell her politely that I'd prefer a more...quiet experience. 4 stars for ambience and spa services, but one off for going a little too hard on the small talk. read more

I'm a member at Burke Williams, and I usually go for massages because I love my therapist, Suzeette. She is amazing. She knows me well and knows exactly what I need. I've tried facials a couple of times before, and my experience was okay, but I never really noticed a difference in my skin until I tried Satareh. I'm a skincare fanatic, and I know a lot about skincare, so I can honestly say this was the best facial I've had in my entire life. She knew exactly what she was doing, was very knowledgeable, and made sure I was comfortable throughout my 95-minute facial. The results were stunning. My skin looked so bright, plump, and refreshed. My advice is to skip the regular facials and go straight for the Regenerating Facial. It is a bit more expensive, but it is worth every penny. read more

I have been a member for over 5years . Tonight was my last . My massage was great ( Noemi ) but some other girls not so good . My check out experience was awfully slow . Only one girl at the desk . I went to find someone to help because people were coming in and also ready to leave . I spike with Geneve and she was terrible . About 6 people came in so I let the large party go ahead of me as to let them go in on time because they kept saying they would miss their massage service . I should have been next but she started checking in others as well before me and she knew I was next . I waited and spoke up when she was done and told her how rude that was and bad customer service etc . She made excuse after excuse ! My time is important too and customer service should be priority in such a business as this . I will be canceling asap . There has been several things over the years that have been not up to a quality spa standard so I'm over it . Lovely, relaxing experience! A bit on the pricier side, but once I got there, I could see why. Beyond your treatment, you could spend hours there. The amenities abounded: - Sauna + steam room - Jacuzzi + cool mist room - Showers stocked with towels, toiletries, and bags for a wet swim suit - Vanities with hair products, brushes, and hair dryers - Lockers + robes + sandals - Aromatherapy towels - Face wash, body lotion, other little toiletries - A quiet room - A wet room My facial treatment (35 minutes) was also rejuvenating. I had Frances. She did great hydrating and exfoliating my dry skin. I also had a fun time asking her all about what a healthy skin care routine would be for me. She gave me some great recommendations on products and best practices. Everyone else at the spa was also very kind. I think the most stand out part of the experience was the customer service. They had to delay my mom's facial 15 minutes past the scheduled time. To compensate, they gave her 20% off her service + a free enhancement. I thought that was quite classy! read more

Finally got to check out Burke Williams thanks to a gift card, and now I understand the hype. Yes, it's on the pricier side, but the experience from start to finish made it feel worth it. From the moment I walked in, the front desk staff was welcoming and helpful. The spa itself is beautiful, very clean, and the amenities really elevate the whole experience. My massage therapist, Rose, was amazing, so sweet, welcoming, and professional. I booked a deep tissue/Swedish massage, and she somehow managed to work out every knot while still making it relaxing enough that I actually fell asleep (which never happens for me during massages). She clearly knows what she's doing. If you're going to Burke Williams, definitely try to book with Rose. I'll absolutely be back just to get another massage from her. read more

My friend and I went to Burke Williams last week to celebrate her birthday with massages. We've both been Burke Williams customers for 15-20 years, but after this experience, I don't think we'll be back. While it's normal for some massages to be better than others, I always at least come away feeling relaxed, even if it wasn't necessarily the best massage of my life. However, we both had terrible massages on this trip. My masseuse was a nice woman, however she seemed to lack strength in her hands. Whenever she massaged me with her hands, it was extremely light (like less pressure than some of the lackluster massages you get during a mani/pedi), and she spent most of the massage using her fists and forearms. I honestly felt like a lot of it was bone on bone as she didn't even seem to be getting my muscles. The massage alternated between being painful, and so light I could barely feel it. My friend requested a male masseuse specifically because she wanted someone who could give a firm enough massage, and she experienced a similar "technique," which really surprised me. It made me wonder what the quality control/training process is at BW. We both also noticed a general lack of care in the way we were handled by our masseuses. Usually during massages, you're handled with care in the way your arms or legs are tucked back under the sheet after being massaged, and just generally handled in a gentle manner to ensure relaxation. My masseuse didn't practice this kind of care. She accidentally ran roughly into my head while moving around the table and didn't even acknowledge it. She roughly held down my head when giving a shoulder/neck massage, and would sharply yank the sheet when covering me back up, etc. I felt like I was treated like a slab of meat. Midway through the massage when she had me turn over, she asked if I had a nice nap and I almost laughed. I honestly could not relax one bit and came away feeling tense and irritated at spending over $300 for one treatment. I understand that Burke Williams needs to raise prices to keep up with inflation, but this massage was not inexpensive and their high prices do not correlate with the type of experience you receive. I've received better massages for half the price. When checking out, the woman at the front desk asked how my massage was. I said "just ok" and she answered "great!" and asked nothing else. I was sent a survey link from them Friday evening and planned to fill it out so I could provide this feedback directly to them but by this morning (less than 5 days later), the link had already expired, which makes me wonder how much they really care about customers' feedback. read more

I tried to put the below review on the B-W site to save them the embarrassment of putting on the widely-public Yelp, but the site was broke: the lobby and wait rm. are outdated. the wait rm. looks like a Victorian bordello and the sofas r not comfortable. The guy who showed me the locker rm. and was 'supposed' to explain what to do and where to go, SPOKE NO ENGLISH. He blathered on in some language (maybe Spanish) and I told hime 4 (FOUR!) times I did not understand him. I walked away, returned to the desk and got help. The massage was supposed to be full bod, but he skipped my glutes and chest, so I did not tip him. The meaning of Tips has been lost, with them becoming expected. The facial technician I i've been going to for several years suddenly has become very careless and rough. About six weeks ago she left me with a scar on my face. My husband and I both got a relaxation message. We came to celebrate our 10 year anniversary and what better way than with self care! My therapist was Lois, and she was lovely very relaxing massage. There are so many wonderful aspects of Burke Williams! As many times as I've been, this was my first time getting the "Burke Williams Experience" massage. This one stood out to me because of all the enhancements that are included. (The scrub was definitely needed for me today.) I love the steam rooms & jacuzzi after a treatment to get all the toxins out & have glowing skin! My masseuse was decent but seemed fairly new. I appreciated that she set a timer so there was no question about me getting my due time. My sister had Chloe who she raved about! I started a monthly massage membership last year, and it has been a very smart investment in myself. The facilities are clean, the staff is really helpful, but things went to an even greater level a few months ago when I was matched up with a new therapist, Yamuna. She is absolutely amazing. I like real deep tissue massage, and it is hard to find someone who can truly grind in to my muscles to get the relief I am looking for. It took several months of consistent treatments, but my body has not felt this good in years. Highly recommend! read more

I haven't used it yet... so this is not a bad review for their services or they're massage therapists I just want to advise anyone looking to purchase a gift card for someone else.. maybe choose some place else, there's so many great massage places out there! I'd like to use this gift card but I don't want to have to put my credit card on file (as a victim of identify theft) I prefer not to give out my CC info over the phone or to establishments that I don't necessarily HAVE to. Here you HAVE to make an account with a credit card on file that they will charge and then refund you just to make an appointment. So if you're buying a gift for someone else that doesn't have a membership here maybe choose some place that doesn't require a credit card to be on file prior to the appointment. That's all. I had several gift certificates that had been burning a hole in my pocket so I opted to book a massage and facial on an off day from work. The reservation process over the phone was fine and my requested times were accommodated. My experience at the spa it's self left much to be desired. Upon arrival I was greeted, promptly checked in and asked "where would I like my locker?" Me: "I'm, I'm not sure, what are the options?" Her "uuggg haven't you been here before?" Wow, ok. I then politely asked for quick tour since it's had been years since I'd been to this location. Since I asked for a tour, I was left standing in the waiting area for almost 10 minutes. I proceeded to try and figure it out on my own, since I was eager to use the amenities. As I walked to the women's locked room and then took a few steps towards to the treatment rooms a gentleman employee appeared and said "ma'am, are you looking for something?" "Just trying to figure out where everything is" I replied. His response "the attendant is on break but here's the locker room. I can't go in obviously." Super not helpful sir, I can read the sign. The area of my locker appeared to not have been renovated since the 90's and had a direct view into the hot tub...I guess this is what she meant by where did I want my locker? Wondered around a bit only to find the sauna out of order and said hot tub packed with women all talking over themselves. Would have been nice to know the sauna was out of order prior to arriving an hour early for my services. My 2 therapists were pleasant and provided acceptable service. My massage room door had a window in it and the constant rattle of the air conditioning unit added to the relaxing ambiance. Eye roll. Spa refreshments consisted of water in those tiny paper cups you had in the bathroom when you were a kid, a bowl of apples and a bowl of unripe bananas. Laughable honestly. Needless to say I would not return to this location. It's so overpriced and subpar when we have so many 5 star resort spas and even day spas in the area. read more
