I also wanted the battery changed my unfortunately the inside was corroded but they offered me several solutions for that as well and tried to see if seiko had any parts to replace the inside so they could change the battery. Pricing is VERY reasonable and they are very quick and efficient. I would definitely recommend my loved ones and friends to go to midtown jewelers.

I wanted to be sure they would install the correct rechargeable battery and only then did she acknowledge my watch was Solar and then confidently said $50. I asked why that wasn't communicated when I had texted and she explained the greater cost was because the replacement battery would last 5-7 years. Oh, so I quickly looked up the Amazon price of the needed battery and it was $13.95. Then she explained that their liability to install a battery in my fine Timex watch demanded an increased price. I thanked her and left. Lesson learned, talk to the vendor and be sure as you can that they understand your needs for the price being quoted. It doesn't seem to matter what you text. Two stars because the lady was very nice.

We stayed in that area all of those hours and we had already paid with cash so we wanted to be sure not to miss there call paying with cash was 2red flag. I got the worker personal number from the owner and he was really nasty he stated that he was NOT going bck to the store to get our product and that they close at 5:30 pm even though he told us ready between 6-7 pm we even told the owner and he said yes they will stay past closing to make sure you get the grill . Well the jerk then yelled at me that he was not the owner and we wasn't unlocking the store and hung up in my face . He had to get a room near by so that we could make sure to visit the store in the morning to get the grill my son was not able to try it one had school the next day ... WE DID NOT GET THE GRILL THE SAME DAY WE HAD TO GET A WHOLE HOTEL ROOM JUST SO THAT WE ARE THERE AT OPENING THIS Place is SO SHADY AND LIES ABOUT EVERY THING. I wish there was an option for no stars... Douglas Burks is a CROOK! He took my ring without completely paying me for it and he took diamonds and gold out of my mother's ring. We've been doing business with Mr. Burks for a very long time....before he opened his establishment. He NEVER gave us a reason to distrust him until this current situation. I can go on & on about the jewelry that he has cared for just like all the other stories I'm reading of good report but the truth of the matter is he's a thief and a liar with NO fear of God. Google reviews have a lot of who Mr. Douglas Burks is. It just so happens not to have been the ones with the 5 stars because 2 weeks ago I would've given him 5 stars as well. He admitted altering my mom's ring and owing me for my ring in a recorded conversation he even signed and notarized a promissory note to repay me and after I wouldn't take my mom's ring back to him so he can "get a deal" on it and I come back and get the money he decided to tell me "Sorry, let's go to court" You know why? Because I may win the suit but how will I get the money. VERY smart, he's mastered the law. This is what he does. Maybe not ALL the time with EVERY customer but he definitely cannot be trusted. He told me "I'm going to do the right thing. I have to sleep at night" ALL the reviews I read of the same situation as mine he should have bags under his eyes for years. He does it with ease that's why there's no bags. When he THINKS he can get away with it he will strike. He buys stolen jewelry from the young men burglarizing & robbing. No he doesn't know who it comes from but he does know it's stolen I happen to know one that takes it there and Mr.Burks have told him come back when he get some more. I may NEVER get the rest of my money & my mom's ring may NEVER have the value it went into his establishment with however EVERY opportunity I get I will aware EVERYONE I can..... BEWARE of the CROOK we once thought was trustworthy too. read more

Douglas Burks and his business operations are fraudulent. He stole an engagement ring that he was supposed to sell for me and claims it was stolen from him. I have taken him to court and he refuses to pay. He has several open cases with the Dekalb County Magistrate office and refuses to pay any of his judgments. You can search his personal name Douglas Burks or Burks Jewelers for pending cases. The business is also associated with his wife's name as well. He filed personal bankruptcy so that when customers take him to court he presents them with bankruptcy papers and usually the judge puts a hold on the cases. However he does not have bankruptcy with his business so if you do decide to do business with this criminal make sure everything is with his business not personal. He writes checks that will bounce and will lie about other customers stealing your jewelry with no evidence. If you do win your case he moves his money so that you have a hard time locating it to collect. Do not do business with this criminal. Not to mention he has been in Business for over 20 years and is not Accredited with BBB. read more
