This facility is so overwhelmed and understaffed. My mother was put in a dirty room with someone else's belongings all over it. After 24 hours she had not been evaluated or given any of her vital medicines. They hadn't even ordered them until I started asking when the last time she was given her BP/heart meds. This place is dangerous for medically fragile or mentally ill patients. Please be vigilant if your loved one ends up there. read more

If you have a relative that you love and adore, DONT bring them here! This place is terrible. The left hand has no idea what the right hand is doing. The environment does not promote healing. The rooms are old and dated and the furniture is chipped, broken, or damaged. Its hit or miss with the nurses: some good some not. Nurses are not hard to find: they all huddle around the nurses station gossiping or are on their phones. The food is inedible. The kitchen (yes apparently it was the whole kitchen) actually broke and no one knew what to do. The patients were served pudding and something that was in liquid form that used to be solid food, but I'm still not sure what it was. Some of the social workers are helpful (Jessica, Marie). Another named Arnel doesn't know anything. You literally ask him a question and his response is "I don't know" or "I'm not sure." I signed a contract with them which guaranteed my rmom's bed space for 7 days in case she had to leave for some reason like a hospital visit. Well my mom had to leave temporarily and was gone for 3 days. I knew she wasn't coming back so I went to get her belongings from her room only to find out her room was given to someone else!! All of her belongings were moved but no one knew where. Eventually her old robe and slippers were locate, but her iPhone cell phone charger and medications are n where to be found! My mom was actually rushed to the hospital. No one left me a message I had no idea she was rushed off until the next day! Stay away...you've been warned! read more

I have been at burligame long term care for five months now...In the beginning I got off to .......the. wrong foot not understanding ..that things take time.. What I found was the staff are great people.. Very efficient and caring..allot of them are good friends... This facility has committed multiple violations of the California Labor Law. Paychecks are outrageously delayed and they are not providing paystubs to their employees. I am in the process of reporting their violations to DIR. read more

Trash. Uncaring, disorganized management, hostile nurses, miserable CNAs, snotty therapists, and the patients absolutely hate it there. One man told me that he had a more pleasant time in jail. The biggest complaints seem to be the food, late medications, and filth. The place is always dirty and it stinks. They've been in the news recently for unfair treatment of workers, horrible management of COVID, and nurses going on strike. Just don't send your loved one here unless you absolutely hate them. read more

Left cousin with diaper on for long hours and she developed a rash. Also, when I called to speak to her - no one wanted to take the only phone they share among the patients to her. these people never answer their phones! so i got my family member a cell phone of his own and they stole it!!! everything that i have brought into this place has been stolen. that's not even the worst part! they regularly mistreat and abuse their elderly and sick patients. they leave them in soiled diapers for so long that it caused my family member to get sepsis, which is a deadly infection! this caused him to be taken to the hospital for several weeks. this happened twice!!! i have made official complaints about this to the responsible licensing boards and they told me that they are currently being criminally prosecuted for this exact same thing!! he said that he couldn't investigate my complaint until this court matter is resolved. i haven't heard back so i need to follow up with this but no one is taking responsibility for our elderly, sick and helpless family members! it is disgusting!! these people who work here are shameless!! they are not being held to any standards! i hope that they read this and know that when they get old and helpless, that these exact same things will happen to them!! i say this not only because i believe in karma but because i believe in god jehovah . i promise you it will!! we need to help our elders! they are being abused in this place and now we can't even talk to them to see how they sound like they're doing!! the last time i spoke to him i heard the worker telling him everything to say in the background! why is this being allowed to happen?? whomever reads this, we have a responsibility and duty to protect those who cannot help themselves! we will all be there one day. this isn't just their problem. it is all of ours!! these are human beings that are being treated worse than animals!! i ask and beg you that we take 5 minutes out of our day to write to their regulatory agencies, just copy and paste. what would jesus do?? please and thank you! read more

My sweet friend L was here and it was gawd awful. She was in a room with two other females and one day after work I went to visit her and I wasn't allowed in her room. They would only tell me I had to wait and I panicked and thought something happened to her, but they reassured me she was okay. Finally, after approximately 30 minutes I was told that the patient in the middle bed had died at 4:00 a.m. and they were waiting for her body to be picked up. Mind you, this was at 3:00 p.m. The finally moved L's bed to the recreation room and I sat with her in there. It broke my heart that she had to be in a room with a dead body for almost 12 hours, even though the drapes were closed around the decedent's bed. I'm crying as I write this, thinking how awful that day was and others, too. On one of my visits, I noticed the side of her bed was soaking wet and discovered that her feeding tube was plugged and leaking onto the bed. I contacted one of the employees and she said she would be right there, but didn't show up for almost a half an hour. I wondered how long it had leaked and if they would have ever noticed it. Geezus, it's her feeding tube, this should be constantly checked!!!!!!!!This place made me down right sad and angry and while some of the personnel were nice, most just didn't seem to care. I wish I had had the ability to have had her looked after at her home or at another facility at the time. Eventually, she was moved to a facility in Millbrae because the idiots in this hell hole didn't check her catheter and she wasn't expelling her urine and she was rushed to the hospital where she almost died. The place in Millbrae was much, much better, but L was only there a short time before she passed away. I wish she had gone to the Millbrae facility in the first place, I think it would have made a difference. I miss my sweet friend and it's heartbreaking to think about her time in Burlingame. L had such a great attitude and NEVER complained. read more

This place is horrible, all the staff are all family and all they do is gossip and don't take care of the patients. My father, Rest In Peace, was here for 6 months before he passed away here and it's very upsetting knowing that the nurses didn't take care of him. One time I was there and he called them three times to please make his bed and they never came to help him. During his death his blood sugar lowered and supposedly they gave him medication to normalize it at 4am and they let him fall asleep which you are never supposed to do when that happens, so that's how u know they didn't care until 6am which was two hours later and he was unresponsive. At least my father didn't suffer which I'm glad for him. read more
