San Bruno skilled nursing is a fantastic facility for anyone that's going through recovery after surgery, or any other ailment. I stayed there for 2 months after having a major surgery as well as a different surgery I had in 2022, and I must say I had a great experience both times! The staff is incredible! The CNAs work so hard, they dedicate so much effort, and patience, and care like genuine care to every patient they have, and are so kind! The nurses are equally amazing and dedicate just as much. I didn't experience one day where the nurses or the CNAs didn't have me smiling and do what they could to make me feel good when I had hard times. The next thing I want to mention is the physical therapy. The physical therapists each and every one is absolutely incredible! They take the time to listen to their patients, they don't push their patients to do more than they can do, they're always encouraging, smiling, and happy to see you each and every session! I can't say enough about them as well. The administrator Daniela is an amazing woman! She is the reason why I was able to be there in the first place and every time I saw her she was smiling and happy and caring. Just a beautiful person. The only slightly negative that anyone could say and it's very small is that yes like all other facilities the food could be a little bit better, but for what it is it's actually the best I've had in all of the facilities I've stayed at. But that's so small compared to everything else a patient can get staying at San Bruno skilled nursing. It really is the staff, Daniela, and all of the physical therapists that make a patient stay there worth it. So if anyone out there has a family member that is going through a tough time and needs that extra help, or recovering from any surgery I highly highly recommend they stay at San Bruno. It might be a little far from where you're located, but trust me when I say it's worth it. San Bruno skilled nursing facility is Fantastic! my son just spent 2 weeks at the San Bruno SNF. it was his 3rd time staying there over the past few years. When we came in I was amazed how many staff came into our room and remembered him ! When we walked the halls, staff from every department would greet us, it was sweet. ok, now about the care... Like all SNF's San Bruno is crowded with clients and staff can only do so much. But, I found that from the cleaners to the nurses, skilled or unskilled, the staff genuinely try their best to give every client the attention they need. Some need much more than others . I was there 5 to 10 hours a day, and got to see how things work. I found that clients with family to assist probably got their needs met quicker. And, the families are encouraged to visit their loved ones. I was welcomed at 7:00AM no restrictions... the outside visiting areas are relaxing. There are lots of airplanes but it's San Bruno so you expect that. I like this facility because it is a family of staff, all working together to help the clients. Even when we were leaving one of the aids came running up to us saying good bye, and she wasn't even working our room ! And, if there are issues Joe and his team do their darnedest to get it resolved. So go team San Bruno SNF , we'll probably see you again !!! read more

In my opinion, this place may have mistreated and thus lead to the passing of my grandmother and should be shut down. The nurses are awful and the facility is under funded, at best. She went into this slum of a facility after her stay at Stanford, where they told us she was suffering from back pain and a UTI and was having some mobility issues due to her back pain. When she was transferred, we attempted to check if she was getting proper medication for said UTI and they told us that they didn't see it in her paperwork and refused to treat her for it. We didn't realize the facility was so bad but now the voicemails of my grandma calling us crying and saying she is scared haunts me to this day. My grandma went into septic shock and died of what they deemed "heart failure" inside of this place. Again, she went in for back pain. Not issues with her heart. NEVER let your loved ones be treated here, if you value their lives. read more

The people from San Bruno Skilled Nursing from the doctors, therapists, case managers, nurses, coordinators, cna's, custodians, everyone, has been so kind, helpful and caring was my dad was with them for over a month. The facility is always clean and well-maintained. I cannot recommend this place enough and was happy that my dad got placed here. read more

I have been in several skilled nursing facilities and this is by far the best by a long shot. The CNAs and nurses are caring and attentive, particularly Baji, Shannon and Christina, and the Physical Therapists Armir and Lauren are great. Only the highest commendation to San Bruno Skilled Nursing. My mother has been suffering with a rare type of cancer uterine leiomysarcoma. Last November 4th 2025 she was brought to the emergency department of Mills Peninsula Medical Center. Initially she was only given 48 hrs by the doctors for they cannot stop the bleeding if they do a surgery it will cause death because of the blood vessels are bleeding, her hemoglobin is too low and they said there is no medicine bleeding they can only do blood transfusions there is no assurance for it to stop. But there are really miracles the internal bleeding stopped by itself. She was transferred to San Bruno Skilled Nursing. She was given very good care. The care that most skilled nursing don't have right now they care for their patients, they care with a heart! I would also like to express my deepest appreciation to Daniela and Veronica of their business administration office they really care about the welfare of their patients above anything else in business it is rare to see this, I I would also like to thank all the CNA, nurses and doctors in this facility who worked tirelessly everyday. Now my mom is in very good care that gives her comfort on her remaining days. The different of San Bruno Skilled Nursing is they care with a heart! I would definitely recommend this place. This place probably paid someone to give them their awards. It does not make sense at all. It's a dump. Old equipment. Old furnishings. Condescending staff when you have questions. Food they give the patients is all bad...I wouldn't even feed it to a stray dog. Here's an example of their care: they were supposed to check my relative's vitals etc every 2 hours. I was there for almost 4 hours visiting so they should have seen him at least twice let alone ONCE... We called them out on it and they straight up lied and said "oh we checked on him" Yeah ok. please don't send your loved ones here. a family friend was there and we found out that an Indian woman, that works there, told her to shut up and hit her. she was too scared to tell us until she got home. no person in there right mind would hit such a vulnerable person. if you don't have the patience to take care of elders or people that need extra help, then don't work here. go work at McDonalds or work at Target. if you have family members who need nursing care outside the home, DO NOT SEND TO THIS PLACE!! Staff is rude and will not tell the truth. Communication sucks. Have called several times placed on hold for over 15 minutes on calls no one came back to say anything that could not reach the requested person or to take a message. Writing this note to share my appreciation to the faculty members at San Bruno Skilled Nursing. The staff across the different departments are very caring and go above and beyond to making sure you are well taken care of. They were always available to answer any questions or concerns we had and were always quick to respond. Aside from the friendly staff, the facility is amazing and was always spotless. You can tell this place is well is managed by a great leadership group. Would highly recommend San Bruno Skilled Nursing for your loved ones if you truly want the best care! Took my grandma here after she was released from the hospital. The checkin process was okay but they seemed a bit uncoordinated as a week later they were still working on some documentation. In general there are either 2-3 beds in each room with their own bathroom. The food here looks a bit unappetizing. You also don't really have a say in what you would like to eat. We ended up bringing grandma food everyday so she can get some nutrition. Overall, here are some things I noticed from her stay: -they don't have translators for patients who only speak Chinese (there were a handful here that I saw only spoke Chinese) -they are understaffed, it sometimes take awhile to get service -you don't get nutritional milk unless the doctor prescribes it. LOL WTH. You can buy this normally so why you need a prescription? Who knows. Overall, she didn't enjoy her stay and requested to leave earlier than advised. read more

Their coordination between different shifts really need big improvement, my mom didn't have anyone to give medication after helper shifts. If not because we have close eyes watching what were happening, my mom had no one to change diaper, no one to feed medication. read more

It's a nursing home what more can you really ask for. The location is convenient and the nurses are present but they're busy so I understand that if something isn't urgent they're not going to tend to the patients right away. My grandmother is there now healing from the fall and to be honest she's in the best place she could be right now. She's safe, she has food and she has access to a bathroom and showers. This is really the only alternative we have right now so we're making the most of it seeing her daily and making sure she's comfortable. She's around more people than she has been since the beginning of Covid which is a good thing. She's getting out and walking more. We're definitely going to try and stay as long as possible. read more

I was at this facility for 2 weeks and this facility 100% cares about their patients. All of the nurses were extremely helpful to me, and always remembered my pills that I had to take and we're very caring!!! The CNA's are all wonderful, and they treated you like you were family to them. The physical therapy and occupational therapy were fantastic!!!! I told the people in the gym what my concerns were from my total knee replacement, and we worked very hard on those concerns of walking up and down the stairs being able to put socks on getting up and off of the bed because I live in an RV and RV beds are different compared to regular beds. Monica has an awesome stuff in the gym. Every single person was very very exceptional in their field and if I ever have to go back again, I will go to San Bruno skilled nursing facility. Recently my auntie was admitted here and said she had a WONDERFUL experience with the staff and the care they administered to her. Everyone did such a great job of taking care of her we were very pleased to see that she enjoyed her stay there and came out looking healthier than ever. She was especially taken with Miss Kriselle Brown. She showed great professionalism, attentiveness and intuition when carrying out her duties as an administrator. She was also very welcoming and clean, so we knew that my auntie would be in great hands and wouldn't be at risk for exposure. My grandma stays here for 2 months after a stroke. At first I was skeptical about sending grandma here due to hearing bad news of many SNF and positive COVID cases. However my view changed the second days when the staff called and gave me reports of how my grandma was doing. Since they the staff keep constant communication to not just me but with other family members to keep us inform step by step of grandma recovery process. I'm most impressed with the social service department particularly Miss Kriselle Brown. Ms Brown is knowledgeable about the engagement of interdisciplinary in the recovery of grandma. I work in the field and I am very impressed of the professionalism and clinical of Ms Brown and the staff at the San Bruno SNF. Grandma will be home with us tomorrow and I just wanted to express our gratitude for taking care good care of grandma. read more

San Bruno Skilled Nursing facility is by far the best. With zero COVID-19 cases, due to full compliance to the guidelines, and then some, they clean and sanitize continuously. The staff is excellent - they are respectful and kind professionals who skillfully care for the patients with compassion. Our 80-year old dear friend (Gene C.) just spent one month there, after a major back surgery. His recovery was tough, and took extensive physical therapy, which was outstanding. Also outstanding were the nurses, doctor and attendants. Their food was 5 star, well balanced, and nutritional. This is a well-managed facility, and a safe environment, with excellent staff, made possible by Brooke Koyfman who is the Administrator. Even though she humbly gives all credit to her staff, we know that it starts at the top. Brooke is a rare find, and works tirelessly because she actually cares about each patient and staff member, which is something you don't see enough of these days. I wish I had known of this facility when I was in need of a skilled nursing home for my mother. Myself, and my family would have rested a lot easier knowing she was in such capable hands, and that makes a huge difference in worrisome difficult times. My mother is being discharged today from San Bruno Skilled Nursing after a 3 month stay. She received such great care and attention from all of the staff of professionals who worked with her. I would give 5 stars except for a couple small incidents. One in particular with a cna telling me over and over that my mom was incontinent when she wasn't. So she was left to go in the diaper. And this was a horrible experience for my mom who is 89 and had a stroke but understood everything. On the positive side, everyone was helpful in answering our questions and being all this occurred during covid they made sure they helped us connect with our mom on FaceTime :) Neil who was my initial contact was fore center when I had questions. Audrey was amazing and I just loved loved one of the darling cna's names Alexis darling gal and treated my mom well and made her laugh. The other nurses were also really good! Speech therapist (the man who is new in his position) was really good and patient with my mom. There was a issue with my mom suddenly being cut off with insurance as we were trying to get her into acute stroke rehab and it happened so suddenly. Acute rehab kept declining her. Ageism I'm thinking. It was like a snap of the fingers and of course San Bruno skilled nursing was in the middle. They couldn't keep mom without payment and we were NOT going to lose this battle. We hit twitter! And suddenly we got lots of attention. I can't tell you how important it is to be the advocate and fight for what you deserve. My mom developed relationships with many at this facility and they were very stricken with infection, covid etc. we could not visit. However inside is very sanitary and clean!! I felt cared for, appreciated, and like I mattered here. Staff was excellent. Food was pretty good. Many times I saw upper management respond to a call bell if they were close by. Great wifi, average cable choices. I spent many days (I was there 2 months with two broken feet) out under the canopy on the patio, where my friends came to play games, and chat. No one from the facility explained the orientation procedures, food service, rehab would be at this facility Call button only lights up but no response from the nursing station to answer your call in an emergency. As I had major back surgery, I waited 2 hours to get my pain medication and there was only 2 nurses at night to care for 45 patients!! read more
