This place is always a mess!!! The store manager does nothing about the line or the mess and store associates are on their phones full on conversations with others instead of helping with the line. Sharon And Russo and Victoria and Anthony all do not know how to do their job. I see them walking around laughing and talking and looking at the line and doing nothing about it. The place looks like it's about to close down. The only people that look like they want to work there are the people working up front by the door that's the I my upside about this place. But other then that even the restrooms are a mess and it's a disaster in this place. I can not believe corporate doesn't do anything about this!!! The management sucks at this store big time! I feel bad for the good workers there which are the ones up front by the doors who have to deal with complains all day long then I asked the young man there if I can talk to the manager and he paged "Russo" or any available MOD to call and they called him back but never showed up! I really don't like this actual location but I love Burlington Coat Factory and couldn't give the company 1 star. To start, the customer service at this place is awful. It seems like they hired kids to manage kids. A lot of socializing and not enough working. The last time I was there, 2 registers were open, the line was long and at least 4 employees were literally hanging out in the front of the store. One of them was near this open door by the customer service desk laughing and mocking the line and the other 3 were hanging clothes on racks laughing at their coworker. I waited in line over 30 minuets and never did management open another line. My other visits were not as bad but they never seem to have enough cashiers. this store stole $15 of my money. this place takes from the people. please go shop at tj max or marshalls they have the same items with far better customer service is the best & they will not extort or rob their costumer & very friendly & understanding. on 12/19/22 i tried to pick up a layaway, & it was 3 items i no longer needed, so i informed the cashier i no longer wanted them & i want to remove these items & purchase the rest! the cashier tried to complete my request, but needed some help & at some point she asked the cashier on her left how to remove the items. the other cahier continued to address my matter from the other side which caused her to have to speak louder so i could hear her, & in return, now other customers are included in what's going on with my business transaction. the manager jamila was not customer friendly, & had no care.. rude & not one ounce of customer care & when i tried to explain that no1 explaind this to me! jamila stated the layaway contract comes up on the key pad, & i tried to explain to her again no1 ever instructed me to look at the contract on a key pad or explained the layaway guidelines & only asked of me is( do my information on the key pad look right? that was it) i asked jamila how am i the customer suppose to know this if not instructed to look for it or the cashier didn't explain that? jamila did not care & continued to state that it comes up on the key pad that's not infront of you? as a manager she must train them to be horrible customer service provider. jamila stole $15 of my money because with this piss poor service i don't want ahy of it! i have spent lots of money with this place only to be treated with unwanted customer service. i tried to call corporate, but walema whom denied me of her eid or last name for verificataion perposes & she too tried to make justification on the treatment i recieved & would not take into consideration of how their empoyee faild. i requested to speak with a supervisor, walema placed me on hold, & returned stating that the supervisor stephanie is on a call and will call you back! i have jet to recieve a call back. burlington exstorts the customers out of money. oh the lines are super long and zig zag & when you think your almost to the front ooops another maze turn & it's cluttered messy & stuff is all over the floor. do not shot at the burlington in apple valley they will not provide you with the service you need & the manager jamila is horrible as a person/manager no compassion understanding & will not even except accountyibility for the employees mistatke & will make justification of her own with a straight face. burlingtong has lost me as a customer in apple valley. read more

This location is managed terribly. Waited at least 15 minutes in line waiting for a slow cashier who was taking his time although there were multiple people in line. There was about 5 other employees all up to various things while socializing who didn't seem to acknowledge the line. When I got to the cashier we asked to speak to a manager in which 2 different employees tried to tell us we were going to wait at least 15 minutes in hopes that we would just forget our request to speak to someone. I proceeded to wait and a Customer Service Supervisor Lesley finally comes out and talks to every employee on the way over not even acknowledging us. The cashiers asked her again in front of us to speak to her. Upon meeting Lesley, she was extremely rude. I asked for corporates number right then and there and she again walked away and brought back a paper with the info. Lesley and the way the store is managed is why I don't recommend this location. Love the merchanidse, and store is clean. Would have rated a 5-star if it had not been for the manager refusing to issue credit for a pair of shoes that had given me blisters. It was 1 day pass policy, but I live 30-minutes from store, and work 6 to 7 days a week. I wasn't asking for cash just wanted to trade a pair of shoes that obviously I couldn't wear. read more

Just went shopping here with my husband and at checkout the register froze after putting payment through. The store manager Brian told us to checkout at another register, my husband being concerned about being charged twice check our account online, regardless of the fact the charge was pending in our account he would not allow us to take our purchase without checking out again. So we left empty handed and with a charge to our account. I having worked in retail myself I feel the store manager should have handled this mess way better, you want to keep your customers business not give them any options and let them leave empty handed. read more

this is in response to JM in Hesperia's review that's BS!! not long ago I bought a large package of diapers for my granddaughter at target late in the evening along with other things plus my grandchild was with me so was pretty nerve racking getting to the car not to mention it was very windy, anyway after getting granddaughter strapped in and bags in car I left the diapers on the bottom of the cart and went home by the time I got home and realized it the store was closed. I went back the next day and explained what had happened and the manager told me go back and grab the same diapers and he just replaced them no questions asked. that's what BRIAN!! should have done!! read more

A sort of good variety of clothes on offer, and I got a good deal on a few stylish t-shirts, but bargains are few; you have to shop VERY carefully:there is really no savings on most of the merchandise, which is often torn/leaking/spilled and stepped on: the place is a mess, merchandise on the floor, stuff tossed in heaps on the shelves, and the few reps on the floor are lethargic and seem to spend a lot of time gossiping and wandering about doing nothing. The set up of the waiting lines @ the registers is REALLY weird and ass-backwards, totally confusing, and the cashiers tend to be unpleasant and stupid. Last time I shopped there, my purchases were wadded in a bag like snotrags and all but thrown at me. The overall attitude is Okay, you bought some crap, now get out. I had a very upsetting experience with this company today resulting in the decision to never shop here again. I came in and purchased baby gifts for my cousins baby shower. I had bought some baby Aveeno lotion which is not cheap stuff and was sold here at regular price as other stores for $7.99 for the 18 oz. bottle. I bought it for my daughter as she needed it and it happened to be sold there so I decided to purchase it there rather than having to go to another store after shopping. My 15 month old daughter was with me shopping today. As we were checking out at the register my daughter was playing with the lotion bottle as it kept her content and quiet (Parents know what I'm talking about). As I took it from her hands so the girl at the register can ring it up she started to cry. So after she rung up the lotion I asked if I could have it back so my daughter could continue to hold it and be content. So I payed for everything and proceeded to exit the store. If you've shopped here you know the carts cannot leave the doors. So I park my cart to the other carts and take my purse, shopping bag, and diaper bag out of the cart. Then I take my daughter out of the cart and we exit the store. I get home and realize that I had left the lotion my daughter was holding in the cart. I go back to the store about an hour later and explain what had happened and presented my receipt to the customer service rep which happened the be the same cashier that I checked out with. She remembered me of course and looked to see if the lotion was brought to the customer service area. It was not found so we then looked through the carts, was not found there. She calls management and explains the situation. Apparently they are looking at video at the time of my purchase. She has management come over and he explains that according to their "Policy" video shows the item being purchased and given to me so it is no longer in their posession and they are not liable for whatever happens to the item afterwards and there is nothing they can do. I was extremely upset hearing that and my response was "Wow, so basically I'm screwed and you keep my money and I get nothing? All he said was "Sorry" and it wasn't even sincere! Apparently their "Policy" says nothing about making their customers happy. Just another business that only cares about money! People make mistakes, I'm a hard working Mom & Military wife with a toddler and I get kicked in the ass for making a simple mistake! It was lotion I paid $8 for and they couldn't give me a break!? I mean really?? I wasn't making a scene, I wasn't trying to get something free, I just wanted what I paid for. I never had an experience with a company that did not try to do something for their customer to make their situation right or fair. I will never shop here again. If I could give the Apple Valley store a 0 star I would. I made several mistakes in shopping at this store 1. I didn't check the tag myself (it did not match the merchandise) I trusted the store, I bought a slightly dirty pair of shoes (can't return used or worn shoes) couldn't return even same day. Even when an employee verifies you made the purchase. I was wrong for all those things I should have paid more attention. My disappointment is with the customer service if not for that I would probably shop there again. But Angel the operations manager was so rude. I paid 8 dollars too much so the shoes I bought were not on my recipe but the sale was verified by an employee! Also there is video. He did not approach the situation as" what can I do to work with you", but "this is our policy and that's it" it was like my business meant nothing to him. I tried to call Brian the store manager he was gone for the day per Angel. I tried to contact their corporate office, they were closed no response for complaints. I have never felt such blatant disrespect as I did in this store and from their operations manager Angel. I do not recommend this store . Bottom line is that we all work with the public one way or another and basic common decency and respect should always be a factor when dealing with others. Clearly, it was not in his DNA. I bought a pair of Timberland boots at the Ontario Burlington Coat Factory. Excellent customer service at that store. I misplaced my receipt but I did buy boots with my debit card. I went to the store(Apple Valley Burlington') and asked them could they pull up my receipt. They told me they could, but they wouldn't. Vicky(the acting manager)said I needed original receipt so she could see the skew. I told her if she pulled up the store receipt she could see the skew. Per Vicky, she said skew would not show up on store receipt. The skew would only show on my original receipt. I showed her my bank statement for the date shoes were bought. I showed her my bank statement to verify date I was in Ontario store and I gave her my debit card to help her to pull receipt. She and her two(2)associates refuse to even check in store for a similar pair of boots and they refuse to use my debit card to find receipt after asking me to show them my identification. If I could rate them a negative 000 I would. I worked and retired from customer service after 35 yrs and I refused to at least try to help a customer, my head would be on the chopping block. Normally I don't shop Burlington Coat Factory and after this experience. I won't be going to the store in Apple Valley. I will tell all my friends this experience. Plus I will call their Corporate Office because Vicky and her 2 associates said they were 100 percent sure I could do nothing. read more

One star is too many for this franchise as a whole. I don't typically shop at this store because the customer service has always been less than stellar, however, I've was able to get past it. The Apple Valley store seems to be in a category of its own. With Operations Manager, Angel running an establishment as a leader, they probably need to rethink their leadership ladder. He has poor people skills for a person whose job is defined by customer service. Rude, condescending, and flippant are only a few words to describe his attitude. Why on earth would I spend my hard earn money in a place that can't even muster an ability to utilize common courtesy. I like to shop and I appreciate good and reasonable prices, but I refuse to be treated as though a favor is being done for me when I AM PAYING for a service. YOU as a store representative is supposed to earn my business. I say this because I also work for or with the public and I don't always have good news to impart but there is a way in which to deliver a message without being demeaning or condescending. Human decency and common courtesy should be a given. Be willing to talk things out, find reasonable compromise or at least validate when a person is expressing displeasure or feeling slighted. You have absolutely lost a customer, with alternatives like Kohl's and Target who seem just as dedicated in their treatment of people as they are to selling their products. read more
