I have never been to this particular store before so I decided to give it a try and it was quite different. The entrance and exit were blocked off with rope and an employee would let you in as we walked in and close behind you so that was kind of new. The store was fully stocked, though I loved the variety and the abundance of inventory. I was able to find the most adorable boots, and I feel like everything was pretty reasonably priced. I definitely felt kind of watched in each section of the store. Nothing crazy it just very much feels like the entire store is on high alert and already expecting you to steal. Today Stephanie the security or whoever she is was really rude we were on the way to check out and we were seeing what we wanted to purchase. My mom placed a basket with blankets on a rack to not put it on the floor and came back to the spot we where on to get the other blanket where my daughter was laying on napping (we had two kids with us) I was going to carry my daughter to go pay and leave the stuff and blanket we didn't want with the cashier but Stephanie came up to us with an attitude and told us to put the stuff up front I told her we were not done and she said if we are done shopping I said yes I'm just trying to get ready to pay and she still kept repeating the same thing and had the audacity to say we weren't understanding when clearly I was speaking with her English. After she walked away from us to go with other costumers (which seems like we are in jail cause she has to open a string to enter the store) she told them to put the stuff that they don't want with the cashiers cause other people aren't doing it. When we were not far from her. Keep in mind I told her we weren't even done and we were getting ready to pay. And I did tell her she doesn't need to be doing that when we were leaving and she said watch me I'll tell them ( other people entering the store). As soon as you walk in you are greeted with an employee (club bouncer) then you are asked to look in the camera and then they remove the rope so you can get in. Like what?! Is this the club or a department store. Throughout the store there were multiple signs that say they prosecute people for stealing, which I'm here for but geez it was blasted all over. We ended up finding a few things (Nike items) but the store was not organized which I know is expected for stores like this but I felt this was worse than normal. I've never been to a jail, but I think it would feel like this. You can't walk into the store until they get you on video and lift the rope to let you in. When they first made the change, they'd ask you to look up at the camera, and then they'd let you in. The racks were nearly empty. Good luck if you wanted to try on shoes; all the shoes had a security tag and were attached to a longer security tag. It has been a few years since I have ventured forth to shop and spend money. But my sister wanted to explore the shopping center where Burlington is located. And I was happy to go along! We didn't know what we were looking for specifically, but that's the fun of shopping at these types of discounted stores! In my opinion, Burlington, (once known as Burlington Coat Factory), has been one of the first stores that come to mind when I'm in need of dressy clothing, house wares or linens. I always seem to score when shopping for a nice dress, tops, bottoms, PJ's and underwear. They usually have a nice selection of sizes, styles and colors to choose from, at very reasonable prices! Fond memories flood back when Joe K and I shopped here regularly. One thing I know is, that I'm still a fan of this store. Inventory is always well stocked with a huge variety of clothing, accessories, household items, linens, jewelry, etc., including what they were once famous for, and that is coats! Most prices are really affordable and hard to beat for the quality of merchandise they offer. This place could be your one stop to shop destination! read more

After so many years, I went to Burlington coat factory. To enter, the guests have to wait for someone to let you in. The staff was talking so it took time to let me in. Anyways, the line was ridiculously long with one cashier. No patience to wait. One item + long wait line not sure if it's worth waiting in line for 30 mins. When I walked in there was a security rope and the security had to lift the rope for me to get in. That was extremely tasteless and low class. The store itself is trash with empty racks, there were no good brands. To exit the store the security lady had to lift the rope again. The store was organized and clean but empty. Lots of almost half empty and mostly emptied racks throughout the store. They had a ton of socks and miscellaneous items, like ramen, candy, chocolate, pillows, soap, body wash, but not much variety of other things compared to Ross or Home Goods. Their Valentine's Day gifts and decors are almost non existent, so I would suggest shopping elsewhere for those. I was looking for gift baskets or gift sets, none were found. Their body wash and hair products are as pricey if you were to buy it at a department store. The price is reasonable! But not too many items I want to buy at Burlington Elk Grove on my recent visit. The store is extensive, with many clothing and household items in there. But they're the same as all the discounted merchandise stores. They can get less and less good name-brand items to the store now. I think name-brand companies are selling their remaining products online by themself now! They have an asset protection guy standing at the main entrance. I don't know what he can do if someone takes the merchandise and walks out without paying. The only job he does is to give a greeting when people walk in or out! These are the reasons why I had terrible experience at the Burlington in Elk Grove ,CA this afternoon. # 1. There was only one cashier while twelve people were in line. She was so slow. When my husband went to pay, the credit card reader was'nt working. Then another cashier opened a second register and the debit card worked. # 2. The bathrooms weren't open. #3 We could not find the plus size area for women. I went through all of the rows. I usually love this location but I was waiting in line for what felt like 30 minutes while one cashier was helping the line and maybe 3-4 others at some point where just re-racking clothes. While one of the girls who seemed like she wasn't able to be cashier for whatever reason asked Diana (maybe Diane) if she could help the line she said "no the lines fine" and we proceed to stand there for another 10 minutes. I wasn't greeted by the cashier who ended up helping me (extra help came a lot later), she proceeded to talk to her coworker about their life drama and hadn't even acknowledged me. The girl in the front who greets customers is horrible at her job! She greats so loudly at first and acts nice that sounds so fake, but is very rude and is triggered if a customer so much as uses the wrong door. She stated we were VIP and would experience the elite shopping experience. Which was false we encountered no prices on items slimy stuff on merchandise we had to go grab our own price check. When asked for hand sanitizer due to slimy substance on merchandise was directed from a front end employee to the end of check stands where there was a hand sanitizer dispenser. I was shouted at by the same lady at the door very rudely. I told her I was directed front end employee who directed me to that dispenser she went on to shout about she shouldn't of done that I told her that sounds like something you need to talk with your employee about not your customer. Giving 2 stars because it wasn't a pretty much empty store like some of them BUT they closed off their restrooms for the public....and we had just eaten 30 minutes prior at a nearby restaurant. I left my husband and child there to then head over to Hobby Lobby to use their restroom. I felt bad so of course I grabbed a few items and made a purchase there, although I know really not needed. That's just how I am. I shouldn't have returned to Burlington. I should've just called my husband and told him to meet me at HL. I went back, everyone finished shopping, we went and paid and then got home and realized things were missing. Checked the receipt and sure enough, we were charged for it, just didn't get it. FOR THE RECORD, I asked why the restrooms were not available and she told me it was "because of loss prevention". Or if you don't know what that means....it means shrink, AKA shoplifting, AKA theft. The irony of them stealing from me, a paying customer, who never spends less than $100 each time I go there! I live 50 minutes away from this location and was NOT going back. I also will never be back to this location again. Also, just like most of the other discount stores out there, there were clothes and shoes (the 2 areas I shopped this day) all over the ground. When I asked an employee if I can use the bathroom since I really have to go, the guy just answered me our bathroom is only for employee use! I was like oh that sucks! What a complete 360 from the Vacaville location! While this isn't on a TJ Maxx level, this Burlington is SO much better than Vacaville. It has a great selection of clothing and shoes. Everything is fully stocked and there isn't open spaces and empty racks. Also the lighting is great! You can actually see what your shopping for and the sales associates are nice! So offended. I was there to return this item June 15th at approximately 12:30pm. The gentleman cashier questioned the item and called a manager. The manager said the product did not belong to Burlington and they would need to review video tape footage to confirm what happened before they could process a return!?!? Are they accusing me of trying to steal $16.99!? This is a loyalty purchase and a credit card refund. They should have processed the return, instead of me wasting my time to go back...for $16.99!? When video tape footage confirms I bought the item there, regardless the validity of the product, I should be entitled to a refund. As I tried to plead this option, the manager walked away from me. Leaving the cashier to take my name and number to follow up. This situation was handled poorly and I am bewildered at the complete lack of customer service. It's a clean store with a vast collection. It is way better than the Ross Store in Laguna near Target.

This place has a pretty good selection of stuff you need and an even bigger selection of stuff you don't. The prices are fair and the store is pretty clean overall. My only gripe is they never have enough cashiers. I've seen this line wrapped toward the aisles and only 2 cashiers working the front. I swear every transaction takes like 5-10 minutes for whatever reason. I watched one employee come from the back somewhere walk up and take one customer and then walk off back to wherever with the line 30 people deep. Since the Burlington in Elk Grove opened, I have been a loyal patron. When I moved to Sacramento in the early 1990's, the location was a Mervyns Department Store. Having shopped at Burlington Stores in other states/regions, I was grateful for the opening of a local store. Over the last 15 yrs, I have spent thousands of dollars in this specific location. Here's my issue, on 1/12/23 @ 4:54 pm, I purchased a pair of brown Bearpaw, moccasin slippers for $42.99 plus tax ($46.32 Total). Within 14 days the threading began to unravel around the borders of one shoe. On 1/31/23, I returned to Store #760 to return the defective slippers. First, the cashier (Diane) stated that she couldn't return the shoes because they were "not resaleable". I asked to speak with the manager. After about 5-7 minutes, the manager, Julio P. artransaction authorized Diane to complete the transaction. Diane scanned my receipt (a printout of my emailed copy), and stated that the description on the receipt (a black slipper) didn't match the slippers I was returng. She then calls Julio on the walkie-talkie to share this issue. He replied, "that's not a $42 slippers, it's a $7 slipper!". He then comes back to the front desks and states that he can't authorize a refund, but can do an exchange. I said that's fine, however, I had just walked around the store looking for a replacement slipper (preferred a different style) and did not see one pair of slippers. In fact, on the day of my purchase, this was the only one in stock. After 10-15 minutes, Julio returns and says "I can't do the exchange because the receipt description doesn't match the shoe." His demeanor was cold, distant and unpleasant. My response was "As a customer, my focus is on reviewing the accurate pricing and not the description entered by Burlington employees. I should not be stuck with a pair of defective shoes because Burlington's inventory description is inaccurate." I shared with him a screenshot of the same shoe being sold at Kohls for $59.99 and that it was not sold anywhere for under $45.99. In other words, this was not a $7 pair of slippers. Julio P (the Arrogant Store Mgr) was unwavering and didn't even offer to check the video footage to confirm the purchase. Please stay away from this swap-meet store and all Burlington locations unless you have time to thoroughly audit the descriptions of your purchases. This is the reason that AMAZON is dominating the retail market and will continue to put these unscrupulous "discount stores" out of business. The ONLY pleasant thing about this location is the warm, attentive, and efficient greeter. She (I don't know her name.‍) also does an outstanding job of keeping the carts sanitized and organized. She is the "One Star" rating. It's unfortunate that the management of Store #760 is not as competent! read more

It's a Saturday afternoon. The line is long and there's only two registers open. Two ladies (one is a supervisor/manager) standing around the closed registers sorting the colored size markers with no intention of opening up a register to help get the line down. They won't even call other people up from the sales floor to ring. Burlington's customer service is the absolute worse. It's ALWAYS like this in this store. Obviously, poor leadership. I usually shop in Natomas, but since this location is closer to my house, I came here today. Never again. read more

As I was about to walk into the store at around 10:45PM, the manager rushed to the doors to close and lock up. She didn't even have the dignity to look at me in the eye. I gave them a call and Deana (Dina?) took my call and was courteous and kind despite my confusion and frustration. She said they closed at 11PM and I stated how the manager just locked the doors. If the store was open for another 15 minutes, why did she lock up sooner? The miscommunication and disconnect about the store hours was annoying but the associate who took my call was at least kind and apologetic about the confusion! read more

Its really disorganized and dirty inside. Restrooms are always closed. Small inventory for such a large space and unfortunate staff incharge of the place. I found a pack of Nike socks, seemingly the only pack in the store, and there was 2/6 missing. The cashier was going to discount them but the Vicky the manager, told her no. I purchased a stool for $90. went to return it 31 days later and they offered $21 in store credit. mind you, when she scanned it thinking it was a purchase it rang up to the original sale price. it wasn't discounted. it makes no sense that this company basically robs you do not have the receipt: from here on out I am ONLY shopping at home-goods or a higher end retail store. Over the years with knowing of this location, I've come stopped in from time to time. When looking for items for my boys, or when looking for gift ideas at time for my nieces and nephews. I've never had an issue here, and this location always seems less busy when compared to the Florin location. When you come here you get what's expected, a large retail store filled with an assortment of clothing and home goods. Are extremely high mark downs from general retail prices, because of item may have sold well in regular stores. Or their from last years line, or sometimes because there's an occasional defect that may or not not be noticeable. And you'll find everything from no-name clothing. To designer brands (if you're looking) like True Religion, Jessica Simpson, Tommy Hilfiger, Levi, Ralph Lauren, London Fog, etc. Just the other day I came in looking for a new jacket, one preferably with a hood at many of my everyday and designer jacket don't have a hood. Which if you don't have an umbrella and live in Sacramento during the winter season; isn't the best idea. So I looked in the men's department after my girlfriend found a really nice jacket in the women's department. And I found to "Bomber" style jackets, one being a brown distressed colored, leather style Tommy Hilfiger jacket. And the other being a black leather style Levi Straus jacket with hoodie. The original price for the Tommy Hilfiger jacket was $250.00 and Burlington had it for $59.99 (76% markdown). While the Levi leather style bomber jacket, was originally $180.00 and instead was at $59.99 as well (66% markdown). Because of the price and liking both, instead of getting one jacket I went ahead and got both. Since what would have cost me $430 plus tax at somewhere like mall, was instead % off and only $120.00. OVERALL: A big box store with great deals for people who want to find name brand and designer clothing, with out having to always pay name brand and designer prices. Really comes in handy for children who you want to look nice, but either are growing out of clothing as soon as you blink. Or are like mine and play hard, with their clothes showing the visible signs. And it doesn't hurt when you find something you'd generally wear, and it's marked down by 50, 60, or even 70+%! read more

They expect you to hold it while you wait in their line that goes around the store because no matter how busy they are, they only have one to two cashier's. I enjoy shopping at Burlington & have been a loyal customer since the Florin rd location opened. The last 3 times I have shopped at Elk Grove Burlington I have been greeted by Stephanie. She's always very pleasant and enthusiastic when I encounter her. Whenever she's passing you in the store she asks if you're finding every ok. She doesn't rush by you without acknowledging you like most associates do. Stephanie is such a breath of fresh air & makes shopping at Elk Grove Burlington a pleasurable experience.
