I was shopping at this Burlington Store and purchased various items. When I went home two of the items were damaged including eye glasses and small beads from a necklace. I haven't even worn them or touched them. So I decided to return them he next week. I had the receipt and all. The manager was very rude and claimed that I had worn the necklace. I haven't even removed the tag. She didn't apologize and added insult to injury by accusing me of something I haven't done. She could simply said I can't return this and stop there. Anyhow I haven't been humiliated like this before. If anything, it shows her reflection on the merchandise that it looks used when it's brand new. I left the necklace and glasses at the store. Very bad customer service After I waited 45 minutes in the line. I had two T-shirt for return that person Who's supposed to help me his name is Adrian. he was very rude to me and I ask him for his manager and he say I am the Manager and I asked for the store manager and he said again I am the store manager and he didn't return my stuff. Went there a few weeks ago. I'd have to agree w/all reviews here. First off, you do find some cute items, I found a really cute stylish & unique top for a great price (even cheaper than Ross) and some cute shoes. However, you have to dig through to find stuff, racks are literally crammed beyond capacity & based on the people I observed going here, they make no effort to put the clothes back they way they found them, instead they leave then w/out hanger thrown allover the place. I did see some of the employees trying to put stuff back neatly, but quite honestly it was the sloppy people that kept doing it over & over, those people are probably tired & frustrated about picking up after people. Grown adults who grew up in a pig sty. Anyhow, the other thing to add was it was all blocked off inside, as they were/are in the processing of construction/remodeling I believe? Not a good time to go unless you like being crunched in, it was just a hassle to go through that. I don't think I'll be going back to this one. I do like the one in Whittier better, even though it's smaller, it was a bit more organized. During the weekdays its dead and weekends I can imagine a cluster#$! The irony of this store being known for carrying a large selection of coats, is that their coat inventory isn't exactly that cheap, or cute or even though it appears to be a large variety, it's not. To me it's the woman's clothing, large selection of shoes, home items, etc. are worth going shopping for, (even babies, so I've heard). Coat selection isn't all that. Still, any and all Burlington Coat Factory's are worth a visit, because you will not walk out w/out buying something, even for the home. It's hard to find a coat in January at the store. Much like how there is more 'beyond' at Bed Bath and Beyond, Burlington Coat Factory has much more of everything else to wear or furnish your home with than coats these days. I had a gift card to burn through and I needed a mid weight coat to fashionably transition from winter into spring so I found a purple London Fog trench after shopping for over an hour. The sizes are not true so it took a while find a coat that I liked and then try them on to make sure it fit. I heard other women complain of the same thing while shopping. The home furnishings area appeared as though it's full of castoffs from Target and Bed, Bath and Beyond. I saw the same Paula Dean cookware for sale here that I found at Target last weekend. And I know I've seen the orange handled Rachel Ray set at Linen's and Things before it closed. They have a ton of decorator pillows here. Tons. A nice selection of bathroom sets (toothbrush holder/cup/lotion dispenser/soap dish) in all different styles and colors. There is a huge baby and toddlers section at the back of the store. The checkout process can be a bit frustrating because when it's not Chirstmas, it frequently occurs at the customer service desk where people are also doing their returns. read more

My name is Heidi and I am a shopaholic... That being said I've only been to this place once and I haven't been back since. I love a great bargain any day of the week but I doubt if this place is worth it. I am a huge fan of similar bargain stores like Nordstrom Rack, TJ Maxx, Marshall's, Ross, etc. The thing with these places is that you have to have the patience and the time to find the killer bargains. Anyway, my aunt was always bragging about all the great deals so I wandered in hoping to out walk out like Julia Roberts in Pretty Woman with my arms full of shopping bags and sales associates trailing behind me with more bags. Needless to say that didn't happen... The place is huge but extremely MESSY! I mean worse than my own closet and that takes talent! Bratty, unsupervised children yelling and running up & down the aisles like there's no tomorrow. Extremely long wait at the check out line. Granted it was a Saturday morning but still. I purchased only three items. Two of the three items were defective and I didn't notice until it was too late. The cute sundress that I bought had defective straps. They were poorly sewn & came apart when I tried it on at home. I figured I could have it fixed at my alterations shop but I have yet to do so. The second item was a pair of designer wedge sandals. They are super cute but one is a size 6 and the other is a 6 and a half! The cashier never checked and neither did I. LAME! I was especially disappointed to find out that their return policy is only 30 days to return/exchange. So if you do shop here just make sure that you double check all your items for defects. And try to refrain yourself from disciplining all those noisy kids that are tearing up the store. read more

I used to go to this store a lot biz of the variety of the stuffs and their price but yesterday I was so pissed off about what they did to a loyal customer! I bought a pair of shoes and some other stuffs for my mom for her birthday, I used 20% coupon they gave out during holiday season and it works. I was happy about this. But when my mom tried it on at home , it's a little bit big,so I went back and wanted to exchanged to same style,same price but one size smaller. The African American cashier asked me to pay for the difference. THEY ARE SAME PRICE! The reason? I can't use 20% off coupon on the exchange, have to pay the difference! GROSS. Do not shop here! We ended up here as a rest stop between Vegas and our stop in LA. We needed a place to stretch our toddler's legs and we figured... they have a 'baby depot', so maybe we'll find something to buy as well as walk around? OH HELLS to the no. The store is unkempt, dirty, and looks as if it had been open for the past 36 hours after Black Friday. I do not know how the people who work here can put on their namebadges and be proud of their workplace! The kids' clothes are from 2 or 3 seasons ago and not even discounted from retail price!! NOT worth the price they are asking... if that. The fabrics seem to be faded from the light in the place- even though they're "new" they seem worn and old, somehow. The kids' accessories are in disarray and god KNOWS who has been letting their child slobber (or worse) over these things. Prices are NOT discounted at all (as if that would matter) and their selection is seriously lacking. Toys? Fuhgettaboutit..... Prices are insane, not a deal at all.. go to Target instead! As for the bathroom (we need a diaper change, remember?) .... about as clean as a portopotty at burning man, I imagine. Oh my God this store is SO DIRTY! They need to close it for a week to give it a good cleaning, if not a full month. The carpet needs to be replaced entirely. The store is completely disorganized. Stuff thrown all over the ground. There were aisles I couldn't even get mom's wheelchair down because there'd be a HUGE pile of 20 to 30 shirts just tossed on the floor. Once they reopen it after the big clean up and reorganizing it, they need to ban anyone under 18 from coming in. Sorry parents, but if you're too much of a wimp to discipline and control your child, you have zero right to be out in public with them. Clothes are all over the place, with some on the floor, some in the wrong section, many things ripped out of their boxes or missing. The bathrooms are disgusting. I went in there yesterday to find a winter coat since I'm going back to the MidWest shortly, and seriously -- there was one sad little half rack of coats. Nothing suitable for winter, either. Like some have also stated, the store is getting remodeled and it looks SO much better. The employees are also very friendly and helpful. Before, it looked like a sad store with crap on the dirty, carpeted floor left and right. Now it looks a little classier, things are actually organized and it looks overall cleaner. Better lighting. Nicer floors. The racks aren't overcrowded. They actually have nice things! I got 2 blazers (I had an interview) and they were on clearance for $10 and $15! there wasn't anything wrong with them like many stores' clearance items, I assume they were just older styles. I also got the cutest Madden Girl booties for $25. I wasn't expecting to find anything in here at all because I'm very picky, but I am probably going again next week because I wanna see what else they have now! read more

I stopped at Burlington after work and got there at 8:53pm, seven minutes before they closed, as I was about to walk in the guy (I think his name is Josh) at the door closes the door as if he didn't see me (when I'm pretty sure he did), so I had to manually pull the doors apart to get in, again, it was 7 minutes til closing time. As I walk in he tells me I can't go in,I tell him, i just have a return and it's not 9pm yet, he says, sorry I can't let you in, I explain I had just gotten off work and went straight there, he just stands there, so I ask for a manager. The manager walks over, ( I believe her name is Chloe or Coy, something with a C) he tells her he told me he can't let me in so she turns around and tells me she can't let me in because they're at full capacity, this after, I watched a whole herd of people leaving the store (as did they), I point that out to her and she doesn't budge, instead tells me that they'll be open at 9am tomorrow morning, I tell her I have to be at work tomorrow at 9am, and asked her, so you'd rather inconvenience me, after I rushed over here straight from work knowing I have to work again tomorrow morning, when you're no longer at "capacity" since we just saw all those people leave? She said "sorry". Sorry doesn't cut it. What's happened to "customer service"? It used to be a priority, now it appears to be obsolete, well, except for Chick-Fil-A, no one tops them locally. Burlington, please teach your people how serve your customers better and/or hire people with good etiquette. These people were anything but nice and accommodating. It's a pretty big store location so there's a lot of room to navigate. They had some great items as well compared to other locations I've been to! Everyone is required to wear masks so thankfully I felt much better shopping around. It wasn't very full either. There's a good amount of people but not enough for me to feel concerned and unsafe going through each part of the store. There were times where I was completely alone in certain aisle. Overall pretty good! My dad had issues with the cleanliness of the men's restroom because a stall was completely unsanitary with bandages and a bunch of seat covers on the toilet. So that was the only flaw. Women's restroom was clean though at least! read more

I love Burlington Stores, but I won't be returning to this location! I went last night and they had a table full of socks and the top layer was batman and superman socks. The sign said "5 for $9.99"! Every time I come here the line is ridiculously long and a lot of people who are waiting in line end up leaving, that's how bad the line is. Isn't it just fabulous when you go shopping with your one year old by yourself, spend a lot of money buying both small and larger items and then go to walk out with your cart containing your child and stuff you bought and get abruptly stopped at the door when the cart automatically locks? No! It's not great. It's awful. I should have turned around and returned everything I just bought but I didn't want to wait another 20 minutes to get through the line again. Really, this entire company deserves less than a star, given there are other department stores with comparable products & prices. Ross, TJ Maxx, Marshall Fields, to name a few... In January 2013, I purchased 2 pairs of men's jeans from Burlington Coat Factory, store #340, in Fullerton CA. MY BF, being 6'9", the pants I'd purchased were a wee bit too short. Now, usually, one can take the purchase back with all tags & a receipt, in order to get your $ back. With Burlington Coat Factory, one will receive an STC (in store credit) for the amount to be refunded, should you be past the 30 day from original purchase date store rule. This STC is said to be used within one year, otherwise it is forfeited. Thus, in Feb 2013, I was issued a receipt (instead of my cash back) for the 2 pairs of jeans that were returned. STC value = $35.97 Today, Dec 2013, I decided (as it is still within 1 year) to return to the same Burlington Coat Factory, in Fullerton CA, so as to redeem my STC credits. I was told that my 'doc # on my receipts could no longer be found' by the store manager Ben & that I could call corporate. Upon calling corporate, after it is clear my STC number can no longer be found 6 mo later, I am told I can send an email request to corporate offices (whom we'd just spoken with on the telephone) to 'try and get my $$ back.' REALLY? YOUR CORPORATE OFFICE WAS JUST ON THE PHONE BEN?! Ben, the store manager, then tells me that I could call the police when asked how I can then expect to redeem my In store credit &/or money back AS IT IS CLEARLY mentioned on my receipts?! Upon contacting the police, Ben was interviewed alone, at which point I was told by the police that the store manager claims 'it looks as if I had something on layaway.' REALLY?! HOW SO, especially if you (Ben) & your New Jersey corporate office can't even reference the barcode number you'd issued on my receipt(s)?!! I have four receipts stapled together as this is how I was given back my $$ when I originally returned the jeans back in February!! Bottom line is that it is not worth the time, or the effort, to shop in a store this disorganized. I was driving up through Fullerton and I stumbled upon this particular Burlington. I have had some steals in the past at the HB location, so why not try this place since its closer to home. Little that I know that this is like the fancier version of the salvation army. All of their inventory are always picked through. There are absolutely no fitting rooms anywhere. Shoes are always missing sizes, and they are usually all over the place. People try them on, and never put them back. The employees don't either. People in line cut infront of you. Once you get to the cashier they don't speak english. These are just a handful of reasons from a huge list as to why its not worth trying to save a buck by shopping here. It was my first time going there a couple weeks ago before Christmas with my mom and of course we were looking for a winter coat. Half the racks were completely empty and then some of the jackets had their hoods on the ground and there was hair on some of them which was displeasing . I always find an outfit to wear when I go to Burlington. They are the best cheap name brand clothing place by far. I don't spend 2 hours searching for something like other department stores like Ross. Customer service needs a refresher course on their return policy. After the customer service lady refused to issue store credit for my return and told me to go back to the purchasing store and that they would give me store credit , manager "Ben" also refused the refund because I bought it at another Burlington and his "manager approval" decision was to refuse it after I said that the policy stated that I could get store credit if the tags were unattached. The whole point of being a chain store is to be able to buy and return stuff anywhere there is a store located. I'm going to call corporate on his ass. I don't know why these fuckers think people are stupid and haven't worked retail before. I hope he gets a write up like managers love to give cashier and floor people when they fuck up. As far as I'm concerned, I'm exercising my rights as a consumer and letting others know that Burlington employees cannot read their own return policy and exercise their "management approval" verbiage to keep customers from spending more money at their stores.
