Admittedly Grocery outlet can be hit or miss. Some days they have tons of fantastic meats and produce and bargains and some days there's just not something for you but there's always something for somebody. They never carry the same thing all the time, they get batches of things that can be marked down to more affordable prices, so they can pass that along to us as the shoppers. There are no frills here just bargains, but if you can stumble upon the cheapest short ribs in town magically one day and find a pork roast for $5.99 another day you're scoring! It's worth checking out and they always carry great spices and flavorings. If they don't have what you're looking for the first time spend some time figure out the store and keep going back because I guarantee something you love is to be found there. read more

I really want to shop here more often. However, the price is not competitive. It's not so cheap. Vegetables are not in the best condition. They have great price for kid's snacks which I bought a ton. They really need to work on the price. The store overall is clean and staff is nice. I will be coming back but the price needs to be a bit more competitive. I'm only giving props to the young Hispanic boy at the cash out register for always acknowledging me and his spunky personality and the older white man he's so damn sweet also not just acknowledging me but everyone who walks in. The workers stocking in the back especially the girls(heavy set) please have some smiles, life is good, be thankful you got a job. Always having a snotty attitude especially when I say good morning. You don't have to work, you GET TO WORK! If you don't like it please resign. The older lady with the clip board taking inventory you should be in the back stocking so your not present with the customers (if you don't want to assist me) because I had a simple question about an item. Other than that the store is just clean lol but the energy needs to shift. The team needs to huddle up and work on connecting with others. I have had so many bad experiences at the store and I have no idea why I forget about them after a few months and then go back! This is the last straw. The cart literally stopped and I was in the aisle close to the store and I obviously had to try to drag it and put my groceries in my car. It was one of the most horrible traumatic experiences ever! I did reach out to them and their response was so ridiculousand pitiful that there is no way I will step foot in that store ever again! I know it's under new ownership and they obviously are doing no better. You need to watch your customers inside the store and out! We shop at this Grocery Outlet regularly, and since the ownership change in 2025, the difference has been noticeable in the best way. The store is cleaner, better organized, and the overall quality of service has clearly improved. Staff are friendly and helpful, and the product selection feels more intentional and well stocked. If you know how to shop Grocery Outlet, you can find excellent brand name items at dirt cheap prices. We consistently walk out with quality products and save a ton compared to traditional grocery stores. It's clear the new ownership takes pride in this location, and it shows. Do better - needs improvement in ensuring prices are right & customers are taken care of when prices ring up wrong, and customers have to make a special trip to drive back & get credit for paying too much on an item that was not priced correctly. A person's time & inconvenience should be considered when they have to drive back as there is always traffic & gas is not cheap these days. I asked if the item could at least be discounted for the inconvenience, and I was told no by the manager Mark, and I believe the other persons name was Luis. I was at the store on December 9 @ 2:20. So I just have to say is please Do Better, especially when the store is at fault for items ringing up as the wrong item. read more

We love coming here for the prices, except i had a bad experience with an older cashier lady, I believe her name is Marla. She did not want to bag my items, for whatever reason it was. She told me I should bag them myself but I thought it was inconsiderate of her because she did not mind bagging other customers items. I am a hispanic woman and I felt disappointed and discriminated by her treatment. She tried to make it seem like I was the problem because supposedly I wanted them bagged a certain way but i told her I didn't mind. I caught on that she had a personal problem with me, it seemed she racially profiled me and that is unacceptable. read more

They carry one of my favorite breads, Oroweat brand Organic whole wheat bread. It's convenient that it's located near my gym, easy access to grab a protein bar. I also can't resist to try their unique snacks, like the dried watermelon. The cashiers are friendly and make an effort to remember customers' names and introduce them to deals. It's nice to feel recognized and appreciated as a customer. It's also great that they offer special promotions like the recent 25% off deal on alcohol, which is a good incentive for customers to stock up. I normally just stop by for protein bars, snack or fruit , didn't shop for a whole day grocery. I do think their fruit could be fresher. read more

Our family does a fair amount of grocery shopping here. The prices are generally outstanding, though some items, such as soda, are still cheaper on sale at other supermarkets. Probably the best value here consistently is frozen fish. I do highly recommend checking the expiration dates on everything you buy here though. Most items expire soon, and some items are already expired on the shelves. read more

The Starks came and went. They brought in more Asian foods than the previous owners, which is apropos to the neighborhood. However, I didnʻt see them very often, and so the stocking of shelves, cleaning and turnover wasnʻt as sharp as it could have been. Also, theyʻd routinely run out of carts. New owners now. One thing for sure -to make any business a success, thereʻs no substitute for putting in the hours. read more

The store in Placentia store is closer to my home but this one is convenience because its on my route to work and other places by frequently shop usually in the evening. I've been shopping here off and on pretty much since this place opened I think in 2019 They have had many franchisee owners , some better than others. My real main complaint is recently they seem to have nothing but relly kids working in this place . The kids are sometimes rude and seemed they don't care some of them. Its hard to get anyone to help you if you can't find something or if a price is missing from the shelf. A couple of cashiers in particular are really bad a young guy who never wears a name tag but I've heard others him called Dom? I guess his name is Dominic . Hes never friendly or polite and he's terrible at bagging the groceries everything is a mess. A middle-aged lady she's very small with some personality quirks an 1980s haircut dark hair I think her name is Joy or maybe jill. When she comes to help the cashier line when it gets super busy she'll only do one or two people and then she'll sending every else whose waiting away back to go into the longer line again . Why even have her come to help the cash register at all? There's a blonde girl who is nice she sometimes works the day or night. There's an older man who seems very confused but I think he's been working there for a few months now at the moment. One older lady who I only see at night is pretty cool and funny she makes most the customers laugh and happy I cannot remember her name because it's unusual but she always tries to help best, she has really curly hair and everybody seems to know her and talk to her. The people who are the owners this year recent seem pretty young themself so I guess that's why they hire a lot of kids. The assistant store managers who are also the kids mostly who the cashiers need for help sometimes are sometimes rude and not nice to the cashiers when they ask for help . But I like the grocery outlet stores because even if most people don't understand it the prices are good because they get their items from a specialist warehouses sort of kind of like a dollar store does. You can't be so choosy and picky because my understand that they can't really pick and choose sometimes with they have every week. So I shop there a lot because you never know what great bargain things they have you can find every week or every month. read more

I was amazed at the quality of this store and their products. The customer service was outstanding and you can tell the new ownership taking over this store has changed things around for the better! The prices are unbeatable and on top of that the products they get are high quality, organic, top of the line! All their products and aisles are organized so everything is easy to find :) they even have primal kitchen dressings and mush overnight oats!!! They have their best and recommended products on the front, when you walk in you can find many goods right away! This will be the store I use all the time and from now on :) read more

The store just opened. I waited a few days to let the crowds die down. They do have some organic foods and I did see grass feed beef. I found brands I've not seen before and some name brands too. The store is not large so they have good selection of products. As for the prices I've found some great deals and some about the same as other stores. They were stocking shelves while I was there so it looks like there try and keep the store stocked. The employees are friendly and very helpful when I asked a few questions. read more

I've been to this store quite a few times, but I still haven't figured it out totally? There are some things I can find easily here, but simple stuff like coconut milk or masala spice or a wine opener, can't find it here. They have an organic dry goods section a PLETHORA of wine to choose from, a produce section, but not all of the produce (I like beets and they don't carry these here). It's really hit or miss for me, but I'm shopping for different things than you so it may be nothing but hits for you. It's not like Aldi either. The store is always clean and organized and the employees are always busy stocking the aisles or helping a customer checkout. Definitely a place to checkout if you're looking for specific bargains,but don't expect this place to have everything you need. read more

One might wonder how are they selling the premium blue brand cat food at 80% off ?? My cat will not eat or touch the same brand of cat food that I always buy that my cat loves --- she will not touch or eat the same brand that I purchased from grocery outlet. Prices are good. I love the lesser known brands and items they offer. Every time I go I like to see what new snacks and food I'll find that I can try out. However the three stars is for their checkout. They RARELY have more than one register open at once. No matter how long the one line is, they will rarely open up a second line. Please improve on this. Other than that, the store is well stocked and organized and clean. So if you don't mind the unnecessarily long wait to pay I'd say you should give this location a try. read more

It's a discount market, just like it says on the sign. Stuff here is inexpensive, sometimes up to half off even Smart N Final prices. Meat (especially chicken and sausage) are way cheap. But the selection on things is limited: A lot of what they carry seems to be a short run, so what's there now might not be there next time. (Lately they've been out of crunchy almond butter, Reese's Thins, almond milk, cheap frozen blueberries, Slimfast shakes, and bagged, non-candy popcorn, which they often had for a while. Forget getting the same beer you got last time. [Update: They've gotten many of those items back, but it only goes to show how unpredictable and inconsistent their stock is.]) There are also some products that are here only once but can be a weird version of more familiar stuff. Cereal, in particular, seemed to be all variants from test-markets, sometimes to the exclusion of the regular ones. They also don't have cleaning products or a lot of paper goods. Sometimes it can be fun to check in and see what they have and pick up some weird item you'll give a spin or just see what you come up with (especially if the risk is low when it's cheap). It's not a consistently complete market, but when they have what you're looking for it's one of the best deals around. read more

I haven't been to this store in a couple of years due to the terrible service and selection they had. After seeing some of their quirky commercials on TV recently, I decided to give it another look and boy was I pleasantly surprised. This store is the worst waste of time I can't even begin to tell you how many times I've gone here and wasn't able to find something so simple. They don't have almond milk, lactose free milk, tomato sauce, or canned tomatoes, they don't even have chicken broth!!!! Found dead bugs in my dry pasta. All 4 boxes had a ton of them when I poured the box into my boiling water. Who do I contact about quality management regarding this. Unacceptable. Overall I enjoy shopping here for the prices on products I normally buy at bigger markets like granola bars and chips. But avoid the items that remain on shelf for longer period. They lie about the savings you get here. I have found many products for the same price or cheaper at Ralphs. Their produce is horrible. The meat is terrible. Ive found a lot of expired or nearly expired food. Their "healthy" products are low grade or fake. The owner is rude and unhelpful. I feel bad for the nice people who work here. I go to this Grocery Outlet at least twice a week when I work in Fullerton. Normally their great but tonight, not so much. They had to close the store early at 9:00 pm today 10/28, notifying customers with a small typed sign on the front glass door. BUT next to that note, their red neon sign still said "OPEN". Fail. If you are going to close the store for the day, change the sign or turn it off. As I am typingbthis review into Yelp, People were walking up to the store believing it to be open. read more
