Well I haven't been here in some time first off...I was surprised when I walked in that the store has been organized, unfortunately a lot of empty areas such as empty hooks (quite a few) socks area which I was just looking for. I finally did find a great deal on some FILA brand at a descent price. The store is actually organized and easy to find what you are shopping for. The unfortunate thing was standing in line with 1 cashier and I'll post pics of what was ahead of me as far as customers. The photo you'll see is ahead of me and probably 2 times more behind me! I felt really bad for that cashier. Finally someone came along and opened another station....yayyyyy we all were happy. I really thought I had it made bcuz parking lot was so empty and really saw no one shopping! No such luck, they were in line with me. I do hope Burlington hires more people and keeps up with the organization. It used to be really hard to find things. I will be back, I only go for certain items but I used to enjoy looking at the clothing racks, was too short on time this visit. I will be back but definitely early opening time! read more

My mom and I had the greatest shopping experience yesterday. I drove from Chico to visit and this is our second shopping experience. Fantastic clothing, housewares and customer service. Our many compliments to the wonderful customer service we received from Tonjanica Martin. She was fantastic at checking out our very many items. She was so kind and professional. She wrapped all of our breakable items and worked with us to bag items for different gifts. Well done Tonjanica. We will ask for you again. As chain stores go this one has a lot to offer. Bedding is My favorite department, but their selection of both coats and luggage is virtually unparalleled in the Reno/Sparks area. That said, prices could be better, as could service. There is nary an employee to be seen in the entire store, and as Krista noted the last time we went here, the shoe organization leaves much to be desired unless you're a "digger" like my mom, who adores this store! Their return policy has gotten better. Recently BCF went from a 14 day return to the industry standard of 30 days, but you'd better have your receipt or you'll be in for a world of trouble. As I sometimes find myself wearing Plus sizes, I can attest to a decent selection in this section as well, but it has a bit of "poor boy" atmosphere because the clothes are not well displayed. This is a good place to shop for slightly discounted colognes and perfumes that will come in giftsets that include lotions or powders, or holiday packaging. I bought my favorite cheapie colgne "Happy" here at about a 20% discount. Once again, the organization of this area leaves everything to be desired. Digging is usually required and since most items are part of package containing lotion and cologne, it isn't unusual to find the package broken from all the impatient digging, and the lotion or secondary product separated from the cologne. The store is clean, although a much needed update to the bathrooms has been postponed for far too long, the restrooms are generally clean. I like the location of BCF in the Old Town Mall on Peckham and Virginia because you can nearly always get decent parking without feeling as though you are fighting the crowd, and since BCF fronts to the parking lot, there's generally only a short distance to lug your heavy purchases. However, carts would be better! read more

This use to be my favorite place to go for clothing and baby items. However, I walked in over the weekend ( 2 days ago) and the place was under construction. Yeah the place is getting s makeover. Well for now I'm going to have to give it s two. It's pretty dirty inside and out. I was stepping on garbage and liquid stuff which I have no idea what it could be. Most of the stuff that I like to go through like kitchen, furniture, bedding, and more has either been condensed to hardly anything to absolutely gone. The dressing rooms the had when going is is no longer there. So buying clothes has to be s toss up. Buy them if they don't fit them return them I guess. But that's the other thing I wanted to find out but didn't getter a chance. I don't know their return policy or if they even have one. I'm hoping that I can write a new review soon!!! Love this Burlington... but not on holidays! Stay away looked like a tornado went through it! Check out and customer service lines were taking forever! Not fun at all! Oh.. lets just say.. over a half hour! Let's just day take after Marshal's or Kholes, pretty please! But they do have a great selection of stuff for a great price!! Well I know they use to have really cute clothes for plus size, cute purses but now it's changed a lot. A lot of the clothes are like Ross, they have one leg longer than the other for pants, stitching way off on tops but no all of the clothes are like this. read more

Going here is not only worth finding discount gems, but the randomness of people make it even more worth going Forgot my lounge pants for a trade show trip and walked over really easy from the Atlantis hotel (so close!) Recently I bought some clothes and they didn't hold up -- 2 skirts and a top -- after about 6 weeks. I called to see what the return policy is for items that just don't hold up and learned they will not take things back after 30 days. They said unlike a big department store, they can't return the merchandise to the vendor for a refund/credit. This is unfortunate. They should at least stand by the quality of items they carry. I will keep this in mind next time I shop there: only buy brands that I've heard of and know will last. These other brands just look like I've had them for years after only a couple of washes. Too risky to buy what looks like a great deal. I would have been better off spending the full cost at a department store and at least having the clothes last -- or having the ability to return them after 30 days. read more

Sorry I was so rude and made the cashier start crying because I paid in cash and she couldn't count my 5 dollars bills. I waited 20 minutes in line and and didn't say anything. The manager came over and tried to belittle me because I paid in cash. She said "we usually just take cards". It's not her fault. I never said it was but the cashier was having a breakdown because I paid in cash. I left feeling like I was being a karen. She literally broke down over me spending cash and she had to make change. i am a regular customer of the store for over 20 years. It always been one of the best bargains stores in the area. But the last 4-5 years the store got changed dramaticall. The store still has great prices, huge selection. But why it has such a shortage employees? I always see only 1-2 cashiers there, and most of the time 10-20 people in a line. The cashiers have no experience , that's why they work very slowly. You are spending there an hour to get the cash register. The fitting room doesn't work any more . So, you have to take up to 10 item home to try them on. But you need only 1 or 2. Then bring almost all of them back and stay one more hour to proceed return. The rest of bargain stores around have always enough employees, it takes up to 10 minutes to get a cash register staying in a line of 10-20 people. May be the store owners should check out the store management and ask them : what makes employees run away of such a great store? We all really want to see our " old" Burlington back! read more

I had bought clothes in the reno nv store and the dressing rooms aren't open so I had to go home and try them on to find out some didn't fit so I went back to return 2 shirts and Jeans just to make a return nothing else!!. The African American clerk who was my cashier smelted straight up like weed who was clearly high off her ass didn't take any clothes out the bag to check or anything just starts to scan and when I see she only scans 2 out of the 3 items I tell her you missed one and she gives me an annoying sigh as if I caused her an issue and when she's total come out to about $11.75 back and I tell her I have 3 items it should be more and she try's again and nothing works so she asked the older leader cashier next to her who was the actual woman who sold me the clothes early that morning!!!!!! The black clerk asked her for help and they start arguing about what the black clerk did wrong so the old lady calls the crosseyed manager and the crazy eyed manager tells me the black cashier actually did an exchange instead of return and told me she couldn't give me the rest of the money unless I bought the clothes again!!! I was asking why I wouldn't get my full refund when it wasn't my fault the cashier did her job wrong. To which she says I'm just doing what the recipe says. Which I'm trying to explain that's not my fault I have my actual receipt which they ended up taking and refused to hand it back over. At this point the manager says that I'm stealing at this point so I tell her to call the cops then and call her supervisor to which she reply's no! I won't and I'm like well at this point your stealing from me. The whole ordeal should be on film I went straight to the line and waited with my receipt. read more

This is a good place for bargains as they have a lot of selection. But the clothes are terribly disorganized. Don't expect to find anything where it should be which means you will do a lot of digging to locate your size. The wait at the checkout was long, with only two checkers for about 20 people. Okay, this store cannot possibly have a manager! It was a hot mess! Things strewn everywhere! Every department was a mess...I mean every single area of the store. Even at the check out lines...stuff thrown all over the place. We went in to try and find some drapes. Previously the store had a much better layout. After they did a "remodel" a few years back, it has just gone downhill. It looks like a thrift store now! Everything is mushed together with no rhyme or reason at all. Gone are the nicely organized areas and now nothing but cheap looking racks of thrown together crap! The shoe section used to be my favorite...now it is seriously identical to the Goodwill shoe section on Oddie! It feels like a thrift store...with that being said who wants to spend retail prices in what feels like a rummage sale? Ross is a hundred times more organized! Like I said, I cannot believe this store has any management because back in the day when I worked retail...they weren't having a mess like this! For what I did get to look at, the prices were decent and they do have a lot of items, but it's just too much of a mess and overwhelming. read more

I am a caregiver in the local area, and brought an elderly client in for an exchange and refund. She received a refund on one item, but was denied the refund on a second item. All items still had all the tags. This wonderful lady who shops in your store often has dementia and was completely confused. She not only purchased a new coat, which put money back in your registers, but was denied any refund on a simple pair of pajamas that didn't fit. If this is how you treat local elderly and veterans I will make sure I never spend a dime in your stores EVER. Shame on your staff and the treatment of our locals. By the way 14 registers and 3 open with a line almost to the door. She cant stand long and thank goodness we had her wheel chair. So disappointing. It's a good place to get deals on baby clothes for sure. We also find deals on our clothes too sometimes. It's not an upscale department store; so don't expect that. I have been in here twice. Usually to look for clothing for my four children. Unfortunately, I have never come away with much. The prices aren't all that great and if they are, the style of clothing isn't anything my kids would wear. The shoes are decent and the home section is okay. Burlington Coat Factory is a shitty store that puts all its effort into making it shittier every single day. I have bought a pair of leather Salvatore Ferragamo boots online. The boots come in, and guess what, they are not leather, and they are rain boots. You're asking why do I need a pair of rain boots in the desert? Well, I don't, so I go online to find out what do I do with those. Apparently I can go to a brick-and-mortar store to return them. Great! The store in a couple of miles away from my house so I'm on my way. When I get there, FOUR inept employees are trying to figure out what to do with the return. After 30 minutes, it takes a store manager to find the transaction in the system. In the end they say, we can take them for a store credit. I don't want a store credit of over 200 usd to your crappy store. I paid cash for item that was not up to the description and want my money back. Now, I have to send the boots back, but it seems like I will have to pay for the package out of my pocket. Not shopping at BCF ever again. Edit: I forgot to add, that this store sucks so bad, they decided to put the electronic chips on the SHOPPING CARTS. The alarm at the door is blaring about every 2 minutes. People are all embarassed. Thanks BCF for making shoppers feel like thieves. You can use the carts until you pay for the items. Once you paid for it, eff you, it's yours, carry your own shit to your car. read more

I went there twice during our short vacation time from January 7th and 8th, 2016. The first time, I bought a couple of gifts. This is a huge store, and I only stayed 30 minutes because my son hates shopping. I came back the next day with my cousin, and we spent 2.5 hours there. We were looking for bargains, and I found a few things. I was particularly looking for a light, winter jacket, and I found many.....but I found one at a good price. I had never visited a Burlington before and was excited to try it out. It was great, clean and organized store and huge, much better than a Ross store. The Baby Depot section was great, when I learn our baby's gender in a few weeks, i'll be back to stock up. Great brands and decent prices, not as cheap as a Ross but not as expensive as a TJ Maxx. My husband loved the men's section and was please to see that their Big & Tall section had items for tall fit men, not just large or overweight people. The kids sections is great, perfect for affordable back to school shopping (i'll be back for that too!) The check out line took about 3 minutes, better than the usual 10 or 15 at other discount stores. I'll be visiting here again, but this time i'll wear comfy shoes! read more

We went here to get jackets for my daughters. We found jackets for the oldest who is a woman's medium fairly easily, but we had to walk the entire store to find the kids jackets. I mean really, why wouldn't you put them together? You have an entire area that says Coats but the kids coats aren't there? It doesn't make any sense. We did end up finding 3 coats very affordable so that was great. I also wanted to look at baby stuff as we are expecting. At first I thought there was a lot of stuff but actually there isn't that much. Several things were out of stock, and the way the baby clothes were organized was a nightmare. Now the things they did have were very good prices, much better than Babies R Us. I had a few questions but there was no employee to be found except at the front. When we checked out I asked about their Baby Depot was it the same as layaway? The chic literally had no idea what I was asking her and said "I don't know. I don't work layaway." Alright then... I took in 3 coats and 2 pants to have alterations done to them. The tailor either lost or destroyed one of my suit coats and then said she never got that coat. There were two suits and one coat. Betty Jane the tailor, said I must have taken it with me. I called the store manager and the manager took her position. The coat cost around 60 bucks. The tailor Betty Jane, precharged me $118 dollars for the work to be done which I paid on 4/4/12. Also I bought the suit from that store. The extra coat was from another store. Betty Jane the tailor made an appointment for next Thursday to have these done. She called and said after I paid, that she wouldn't even be there on that day and mentioned she didn't have the coat and was yelling at my wife about it. I called the manager and went to pick up what was done. I arrived and took Mark the employee back to the shop and we looked for what was supposed to be done. I took home the first time one suit, including the coat that wasn't finished. Mark the employee and I looked around for more and found the pants to the other suit but no coat. So I had one incomplete suit and left the pants until the coat was with it. We went to the cash register and check out what I was taking home. Later I called Davi the manager and got her on the case. After a bit she called back and said I had taken both coats home with me and she had video of me taking them out of the store. I asked to see the video since my wife and I knew she was lying and she told me it was company policy not to show customers their video. So I came to the store again and went to Mark and he told me they told him they had video of me taking both coats from the store and it didn't matter what that we checked out at the register. So I got my third coat and through the pants to the coatless suit back at their bouncer and took my one coat home. I lost two suits to them and paid to do it. read more

on february 6, 2014 i went to reno burlington to buy my friend a gift, i found what i was looking for, but i left quickly..i have shopped in this store for many years...i didn't want to wander the store because the store was in a shambles..it wasn't organized..i enjoy a store that is clean, easy to move up and down the isles and the departments are clearly marked...the carson city nv burlington is clean, the selection is fantastic, overall a beautiful store...i'm writing this review hoping that the reno store will clean up and become that store i used to enjoy shopping at.... read more
