We had the lodge decorated, inside and outside to accommodate all our guests. Scott did not hesitate to help us move the furniture, chairs and even got our beer kegs set up. We were able to enjoy the grounds with morning walks, late night talks, a fire pit and the deck with an incredible view. It's truly a weekend the entire family won't forget! The staff were friendly and the entire check in process was easy. For the price, we got an individual tiny cabin with two bedrooms and a bath. It came with a simple kitchen and an awesome patio overlooking the, unfortunately, near empty lake. The staff informed us that the lake had been drained to help fight recent California wildfires, so that made me feel a little bit better. Anyways, the cabin was clean and everything you would need for a nice relaxing stay. My biggest qualm was that the hot water did not work so we were not able to take a shower (unless it was ice water cold). And the Internet did not work - not for browsing or streaming pleasure but simply for cell phone service in such a remote area. All in all, a decent spot to stay in the Shasta Lake area.

Only gripe was the tv cutting out of service. Not so crowded either. I would've stayed another night but in all honesty there's not much else to do. Good prices for cabins and surprisingly comfy beds, with a lot of personal space. Staff was so friendly and warm. Really cool for checking in if you look lost around grounds. Boats and trolling motors were in good shape and always ready. The kitchen was nice, and we used the Weber grill too, and were able to have several of us cook up a potluck feast simultaneously. The bathrooms had shampoo and conditioner, and facial soap. There were plenty of towels and hot showers at the end of the day, so we could warm up and tell tales of fish. Great times.

Carrie checked me in and was very helpful with suggestions on places to go and see in the area. If you're traveling to/from Bend, OR and Reno or Northern CA this is a great place to stay. There's also a great country store in town with the best cinnamon rolls and a hamburger joint so there's food nearby. I'll be staying here again the next time I roll through.

I think you should offer golf cart transportation between the resort and the golf course. That would prevent a lot of people from taking the chance and driving that short distance while intoxicated. I noticed this first hand on several of our party goers. We had a beautiful cabin that was not on the lake, but close enough to appreciate the beauty of the surroundings. I see a lot of reviews had a problem with cleanliness and honestly, we did walk in to a musty smelling cabin and dead, flying things all in the bathroom, but after doing a black light inspection of the mattress, I was reasonably assured that bedbugs would not be an issue. To me that's a big one. I highly recommend this location if you're planning a wedding at the golf course.

The location has potential, but our stay was highly disappointing…read more First and foremost, the checkout policy requires guests to wash all dishes prior to checking out. This is a major sanitation concern. IF the property thoroughly cleans and sanitizes the kitchenware between stays, this chore is an unnecessary burden on paying guests. If they do not reclean them, then the health and safety of incoming guests relies entirely on the honor system and the cleaning habits of previous occupants. It is incredibly unsettling to think the dishes we used may not have been professionally washed or sanitized. The cabin itself clearly got a "landlord special" French doors were stuck and wouldnt open. Had to call maintenance to get them fixed. The refrigerator and cabinet drawers overlap so tightly that opening the fridge makes the drawers to open, and vice versa. The fridge door is already dented, clearly from this problem. The blinds are old, broken, and don't close all the way. So we had to wake up with the sun every morning, spiderwebs in the ceiling corners throughout the cabin. For the price charged to stay here, guests should at least be guaranteed professional cleanliness. Unfortunately, this property missed the mark on all counts.

They were having technical problems at the front desk at checkin so it took a few minutes longer, which is ok, things happen, but I had to ask about coffee in the morning and was assured there was but no details. Our room was upstairs and had a really weird minty perfume smell that was really strong like they were trying to cover some other smell? The room itself was mostly clean, and the bed was comfortable enough. The bathroom had a shower and tub and were mostly clean. There is a small refrigerator and microwave. There were also some small bbq's for grilling your own dinner if wanted and a small area with picnic tables. However, the office was not open when we got up before we left, so no coffee for us except the little coffee maker in the room with some no name coffee. For $150 a night in a motel that is not very modern, I would at least expect some coffee and pastries in the morning. For the price I would not stay here again. Apparently the sister motel Green Gables has been renovated and may be a better choice if you truly want a place to stay in Burney proper.

Our kids were bummed when I told them it was just us. I felt guilty seeing their pouting faces, so our reservation for two became one for four. Burney falls was so mesmerizing, I'm glad we brought our kids. I love waterfalls and being outside in the warm Summer months hiking or camping. We lucked out and were there right before the area was shut down for the fires nearby. We were pleasantly surprised that there were cabins and hookups for RVs right there in the park. We totally could have brought our RV instead of staying in town. It's a small town and if you have never visited a small town with any stop lights, you wouldn't understand where I'm going with this analogy. Lol! Iykyk! We had a great time and do look forward to making our way back to do some more hiking and camping. This park is a must see and a family friendly hike to get to the falls! Fun fact: Burney Falls is never dry, 100 million gallons flow daily, so no matter what time of year you visit there will be flow.
