Harmond's BBQ in Cibolo is a must-stop for us and hands down one of the best BBQ spots in the area. We always order the three-meat plat, brisket, sausage, and chicken, and it never disappoints. The meats are flavorful, tender, and cooked exactly the way great Texas BBQ should be. Even our nephew, who visits from Germany, insists this be his last stop before heading back home, and for good reason. Both the meats and the sides are consistently delicious. Oh my how the mighty have fallen. There once was a time when Harmon's used to be my top pick for BBQ in the San Antonio area and that was back in 2007 when they had opened a 2nd location in downtown in addition to their original location in Cibolo. Alas, the restaurant was in a very obscure location on Alamo Plaza inside a basement where a nightclub now stands and business suffered and it didn't stay open for about a year or so. Years later I finally got a car and made the far drive there on several occasions and the food and service have remained consistent until the last time not long ago. I ordered a 3 meat combo, sausage, lean brisket and chicken with 2 sides, pinto beans and creamed corn with a cup of sweet tea. Total was about $33 and some change. But was it worth it? Chicken was dry,flavorless and looked like it sat on the grill a bit too long. Sausage and brisket were okay as well as the pinto beans. The beans could've been a little hotter and the creamed corn had more cream than corn and also wasn't hot enough. I used to think that Harmon's was something special but now it's just a reminder that it's just like all of the other mediocre BBQ joints in S A. like Rudy's, Blanco BBQ and Pinkerton's. read more

Was in Cíbolo today, was looking for a place to eat but due to the holidays few options. But we found a shining star in "Harmon's BBQ", and it was a great choice. As you enter you are immediately transported to an older time, the restaurant has feel of history. After getting a view of the place you notice a good amount of seating for individuals or a group. You walk up to the counter to place your order, this place has a variety of options to choose from. I selected the "Chopped Brisket Sandwich" with a cream of corn as my side. You can sit down where you want or take your food to go, either way you are given a number to pick up your meal. Now the taste, the brisket was tender and very flavorful, the bbq sauce was outstanding, which brought out the flavor of the sandwich. The side, was equally delicious. As I mentioned this place has history, and the people that are responsible for the place are very good people, they give off a cordial atmosphere. Stopped in real quick to pick up some food to take home. Just a half pound of brisket and some sides. I only waited a few min but you could smell all the good smells so I was excited. Harmon's has been in business for a VERY long time and is a staple in Cibolo for a reason. Amazing people, great environment, and really good food. The brisket is as good as you're going to get anywhere locally. The sides are obviously cooked with care as well. We've enjoyed Harmon's for decades and hope to continue as long as we live nearby. Situated on the Main Street in Cibolo, Harmons has potential. It's will definitely go back for the ribs and the green beans. I picked up 2, 2 meat plates for hubby and I. I got brisket and ribs, brisket and sausage. The ribs were really good. I love that they weren't prepared with too much of any extra seasoning. The brisket was just so so. Harmons smokes with oak wood which in my opinion doesn't carry much flavor. I prefer hickory. The sausage was not as warm (temperature) as the other meats and beans. So I'm not sure it was warm when I left. The pinto beans were ok as well. The star for us was the green beans. They were delicious and tasted of a grandma's recipe. So good. My Cole slaw was also just ok. Not enough dressing so really just cabbage. Hubbys potato salad was a little better than ok. Good texture but sweet for me. I like a mustard recipe. My stomach followed my ears to Harmons BBQ in Cibolo...came to hear the bluesy sounds of Bros Inc. (Jimmy Spacek, Rueben V & et. al) and was also able to slay my hunger with bbq and beer. I had the Brisket Mac and Cheese and my friend had the Smoked Turkey sandwich and both were deliscious. Maybe too many fatty cuts of brisket in the bowl, but that's the luck of the draw when the dish is portion of chopped brisket with bbq sauce spooned over cooked Macaroni noodles and covered in a cheese sauce. It all still blended together nicely and was very scrumptious. The smoked turkey on the sandwich was so tender it could be cut with a fork. The flavor was outstanding. It came doused in a little too much sauce as the bun lost integrity about half way through the sandwich, resulting in the need for a form to finish. All in all, not bad at all, especially considering how busy they were due to the live band. Bottom line: I'll be back for more blues, brews and BBQ! Happy to have this spot in my 'hood! read more

Very unhappy with our meal. First we had to wait to order so they could put phone orders. Maybe make your business more efficient by getting a second register. It was peak dinner time and making everyone wait is just ridiculous. Then, all of our food was cold. I think they made it and just let it sit. There's nothing like bbq! We pulled into the parking lot and stepped out our car, and our BBQ journey began! You could smell all these amazing smells! We walked in, and it reminded me of an old-time saloon. We ordered our food, and it was a pretty simple menu. My husband ordered the 3 meat tray with sausage, chicken, and brisket. And his sides were potato salad and greens. He absolutely loved it. I got the turkey sandwich with chips and sauce on the side.we both had the sweet tea. I highly recommend this spot.
