We went for the first time to the Burntwood Tavern. I like the decoration and atmosphere. I can't wait to see more people around the bar. The food is good and not too expensive. The big thing about this address is the service which is fast and the staff who is ultra competent, nice, welcoming and smiling all the time, you can't feel better! The food was pretty good, nothing spectacular, but decent. The service was not the best. I would say our waitress was less than friendly and not on her game. We tried to be really appreciative and even joke a little, not having it I guess. The manager was nice and she made a point to stop by every table. Decided to try this place for lunch after realizing the new Rocco's Tacos was only open for dinner. Burntwood is located at Mercato shops near the Silverspot movie theater. The inside is spacious with lots of seating and tavern like ambience with wooden aisles separating the bar from the main entrance and dark ceilings with hanging chandeliers. The inside was nice and well lit but, we preferred the outdoor patio to enjoy the wonderful 84 degree weather. We were sat right away by the hostess but waited patiently for a server to greet since it was busy and a bit chaotic. After 15 minutes of waiting, we watched a male server go to the table next to us, speak to them and then made eye contact with us as he turned back around. I asked him if he was our server and he paused, then walked away and said "I'll be back". After 5 more minutes of waiting, I asked another server if she could help us and she replied yes but seemed scattered herself. I ordered the Blackened Shrimp Tacos appetizer with slaw, queso fresco, avocado salsa and sriracha aioli while my daughter ordered off the kids menu and had the kids cheese pizza. She was very pleased with her pizza and my shrimp tacos were okay. Nothing standing out on this dish and couldn't taste any blackening seasoning to give it some pop or flavor. The food was decent though the service was majorly lacking and didn't notice the two servers smile the entire time we were here which gave a negative vibe to the experience. We didn't receive any silverware or napkins and when we had asked for some, our server gave me a small napkin coaster. Geez, thanks! I also didn't care for the dirty bubblegum hanging in plain sight on the brick column that our table was adjoined against, very unattractive! I will say, I was super super impressed with the hostess and the manager on duty. They were hustling the entire time and noticed them cleaning tables, filling drinks, running food, sweeping floors, seating customer and most importantly, smiling! With that said, I knock off two stars for the lack of service. The food was good and the ambience pleasant minus the gum. One star is giving our bartender too much credit. If you enjoy sitting at a bar for over 10 minutes before receiving a basic greeting followed by the worst possible service when it's not even remotely busy, this is your spot. The bartender was lacking in even the most fundamental aspects of the job, and his ineptness became more evident as our visit progressed. He failed at every level - no check-in, no refilled beverages, no menu recommendations, no courtesy whatsoever. And forget about basic hospitality - we felt as if we were an imposition from the moment we sat down. I, too, work in the service industry. The excuse that we are in a pandemic just doesn't apply. This wasn't a staffing issue, and my dissatisfaction isn't rooted in lack of attentiveness of a bartender who is working hard to stay afloat amidst a busy service. I know that front-of-house staff typically rely on tips in order to supplement their base wage; that is, unless this bartender was working on a volunteer basis, for fun? It doesn't seem plausible but, even in this case, the most basic skill set should be a prerequisite. Thankfully, the food was decent. Unfortunately for those who are working hard behind the scenes and otherwise, I will not return to this restaurant and I will not recommend it (obviously). I will, however, recommend that you revisit your hiring standards or offer remedial training to the bartender who served us today. read more

Went to try out Burntwood Tavern with my family and we were so pleased! The food was outstanding, definitely not your normal Tavern food. Our server Dany was exceptional, could speak to my mother in Spanish to take her order and took great care of us. The general manager stopped by to say hello and was so genuinely courteous and nice. Mooney gave special attention to our children which made them feel special and as parents we look for that when we go out to eat. These are the places that we decide to come back to. Had lunch here last week for a friend's birthday. There are so many things I loved about this place, starting with the smell of wood as soon as you walk through the door. The decor is beautiful. My friend's and I sat at the VIP table, which has curtains that close all the way around and a private chandalier. It's very secluded and was perfect for our small birthday celebration. The service was a little slow at first, but the waiter seemed to get the hang of things by our second round of drinks. Happy hour prices were decent; the food, unfortunately, was not. In fact, we ordered almost every appetizer on the menu to share and only liked 2 or 3. The spinach dip, tater tots and shrimp tacos were excellent; the chicken quesadillas and chili were just OK; the calamari and firecracker shrimp were both under-fried and soggy; the kettle chips toppings were cold, and lacking. The tuna nachos had zero - I mean ZERO - flavor. We had two orders on the table because they sounded so good, and both went to waste. The tuna itself had no flavor, and the sauces were extremely bland. When it came time to bring out the birthday cake, the manager surprised us all with a round of champagne for the table. Then, we asked the waiter a couple questions about their dessert cups, and he brought one out for us to try at no charge. Usually, bad food is a dealbreaker for me, but the customer service at Burntwood won me over. Everyone - from the hostess to the manager to the poor girl whose ear we chewed off about the food - was very kind. It was impressive. I've now been here twice, although the first time we sat outside and were never once approached in 15 minutes so we got up and left. The second time, we actually were able to stay and eat. Pros: Location. Located in the center of the Mercado, Burntwood provides ample out door seating and is adjacent to a Mercado staple; Bravo. (They also validate for valet parking which is a plus.) Another pro is actually the service. We found our server to be very attentive and pleasant. Cons: The food. Honestly the food is under-average and has no business being in such a high end area of Naples. The smoked chicken sandwich was extremely dry and the fish sandwich was so soggy it was borderline inedible. I think there are better options in the area. read more

Didn't have great expectations going in, this location has been a revolving door in Mercato. Let's start with the Bloody Mary bar. 5/5. Cheeses, meats, shrimp, blue cheese stuffed olives, and other accompaniments. I went back for a few skewers. I ordered the breakfast sliders, and they were a godsend. This is the second time I'm praising Burntwood Tavern at Mercato in Naples. I've reserved large groups there and the staff is always so helpful. Last week I had 18 women who wanted to do happy hour outside. That's a popular happy hour, but the manager Mun Hea made it work for us. She gave us 3 tables and put 6 chairs at each which meant taking chairs outside from within the restaurant. Everyone was happy with their dishes and drinks. Service was perfect even with such a large group. It was a chilly evening but their heat lamps kept us warm. Based on previous reviews I would highly suggest management evaluate their staff. We came today to grab a quick drink around 5:30 and our bartender was visibly and highly intoxicated. He had to ask us for our drink order THREE times before he could serve it. When he made my Long Island, I watched him pour it and the glass was poured 3/4 with sour, it made my stomach sick. We were at the table just in front of your server stand where a number of employees congregated yet no one come to our table. Awesome happy hour at this place! First the drink, I had the Jack & Jill which is blueberry infused vodka with muddled blueberries and fresh lemon. It was delightful and the price was right, $6. Now on to the appetizers, wow...great value, nice presentation and terrific taste. We had the white bean hummus served with cucumbers, red peppers and warm naan, we also had the Margherita Flat Bread and the Firecracker Shrimp. The Firecracker Shrimp was amazing, it is in a sauce that is similar to a buffalo wing sauce, delish! The Flat Bread has mozzarella, tomato, field greens, basil & olive oil, also fresh and flavorful. On vacation went to see the Mercato mall a very nice area . The decor in the restaurant is super i mean you really get a feeling you're in a modern cabin. We started with the tuna nachos . Very fresh plenty oh ahi tuna and love the fresco sauce . We also had the mahi mahi street tacos . It was awesome very fresh love the sauce combinations too! Yummy drinks and great happy hour! Food is great, service is inconsistent but I always give places 3 times before I totally write them off. My second, most recent visit, it took forever for a server to greet me, etc. When I asked for my server a young lady that was not my server apologized and said she would get my server. But instead after she took the order of the table across from me, which was hers what she was doing when I asked her, she turned around and immediately apologized again and asked me what I wanted. She was Busy but she still took the time to make me happy. She continued as my server and I was very happy with her and how she handled it. I didn't get her name but she has blonde hair and it was pulled back in a pony tail. Great happy hour, great food, great drinks, chicken sliders are to die for and my dirty martini with blue cheese stuffed olives was fantastic. Do not know what kind of blue cheese they use but it was the best blue cheese stuffed olives I've ever had. So if your service goes wrong give them another chance.
