Huevos Ranchero was a daily special- perfect over medium eggs with onions, peppers and flavorful sauce. It came with hash browns, beans, and corn (or flour) tortillas. This place is fantastic! The best crunchy tacos that are not greasy. The salsa is the best around. Believe it or not the grilled chicken salad is amazing and I will be ordering it again. The outside area is great for our fur baby and the always offer him water and a treat. The service is outstanding. The place is ordering at the counter and they bring it out but the service doesn't stop there. They continue to check on you to make sure there isn't anything you need. I went into this place and ordered a burrito, specifically telling them to charge me as much as they needed but to make it the size I requested. Instead, they brought me a small burrito that I could've easily ordered straight off the regular menu. When I questioned the size and asked why I was charged so much extra, their only response was, "Next time we'll do better." That kind of answer is unacceptable. We were in line behind one vehicle in the drive thru at dinner time. The cashier and the customer were having a long conversation. The customer finally completed his order and paid. The cashier handed him his change and then they continued with conversation and laughing. After a few minutes I honked to get them to move forward so the driver laughed and just sat. After a few more minutes he pulled ahead. I pulled across from the window and the cashier was gone. When he returned he asked what the problem was. I said we were in line and they just continued talking after the order was completed. He said he was having a good conversation with a customer. I said he had a customer waiting He said he would rather talk with that customer than wait on me. I said he was losing my business and he said fine and shut the window. My wife has been a customer since they opened and we live less than 1/2 mile away. The young cashier with the silly bowl cut must be an owners son to feel like he can disrespect long time customers so that will be our last visit to the expensive Burrito Loco. This place by far has the best burritos I have ever had from Mexico to Miami no place beats these burritos. I can't wait to try the chimichanga next. Do not forget to get the mild salsa. They do have a drive-through you drive a one window you order then you pull around to the other side to get your order. This is not McDonald's. Don't expect to have it in five minutes time it takes a good 15-20 minutes once you order because it is made fresh. They do have a sit down area on the inside. Whatever you do make sure you try this place I was passing through and on my way back through. I had to stop again and get that burrito and I'm on my way out. You decide. The grease was intense, so much accumulated grease. Besides the lettuce, the meal did not appear freshly made. The meal came with chips and salsa, of which there were approximately 10 chips in the bag. I think I had more napkins then chips. Really love this location. The staff is always friendly, and I love supporting local, but the quality seems to be steadily declining. Definitely feeling failed and dissatisfied. WHY should good food get served with carcinogenic stryene? The foam is activated with 'hot, oily, acidic' foods - served with a healthy dose of styrene. The County of San Luis Obispo passed the Polystyrene Ordinance No. 2019-1 that all restaurants are banned from using Polystyrene foodware. Didn't Burrito Loco get the message?
