#9 Combination Cheese Enchilada With A Crispy Beef Taco, Rice And Beans.

At El Puebloto Restaurant Haven't Been Here Since It Was Connie's Restaurant. Been Years Ago. Let's See How They Measure Up..?? Came To Santa Maria To Visit Friends And My Brother. Now Heading Back Home To The City Ok King, CA But Thought We'd Stop By And Eat Before Going Back. So I Ordered The Menudo Wirh Pata Y Grano And Corn Tortillas. My Fiancée Ordered The Number 9 Combo With A Cheese Enchilada And A Beef Taco, With Ro And Beans. To Wash It All Down I Ordered An Agua Fresca Se Jamaica And My Babe Got A Michelada.

Recently stopped here for lunch at the recommendation of someone. It's a bit out of the way from the usual main stops in Santa Maria, but they have a parking lot and lots of space to sit inside. I opted for a grilled chicken burrito, which was delicious. The service was great and quite a few people were dining in. My issue and reason for giving 4 stars is due to live music they had playing in the restaurant that was obnoxiously loud. I couldn't hear to even have a conversation at my table, let alone communicate with the waitress. It was horrible. I would have moved outdoors if they had outdoor tables. Had that been playing when I walked in, I would've left. It was not an enjoyable stop for lunch.

Food: 3.75. Came by to meet some friends for lunch on a Sunday. Place was moderately busy. Complimentary chips and salsa were brought to our table. I wish the chips were more crispy instead of crunchy. I ordered their asada fries. I requested the fries to be crispy / well done. Food came out timely and at the right temperature. Fries were indeed crispy. Overall, the dish was good. Service was friendly and welcoming. During our lunch, mariachis performed. They were loud but it was a memorable experience.

The last time I was here, it was called Connie's Restaurant. Right at the start finding the service is really great here, the server gave us advice on what to buy. Then we had another young lady come up to us and greet us just with pleasantries and wished me a happy birthday and when leaving again thanked and wished me a happy birthday. I got to say the menudo is probably the best menudo in town. I use to frown on too much meat and not enough hominy and not as good as my sister's menudo, and I've tried most of the Mexican restaurants here in town and gave up and now just buy a can of Juanita's Menudo and a can of pato sauce. I was first skeptical because this menudo didn't come with hominy, but after putting g in the onions, cilantro and lemon I can again say this is the best menudo in town. The meat was tender and onions sweet. This is where I'm getting my menudo in the future, I may have to buy a can of hominy if they don't include it. There was 5 of us and we couldn't finish the Plato Mexicano, we needed 3 take out containers. If you haven't been here you need to check it out.

We average a visit once every two years, but it is our favorite Mexican restaurant in SMA. Service is always friendly and prompt. Restaurant is clean, and ubiquitous Latin music is set at just the right level to enjoy w/out taking away from conversation. The food? It's good. I'm a fan of the chips and salsa, and the servings are more than decent in quantity. Overall, a solid establishment , and our 'go to' place for Mexican. Cheers! RS

I never tried a huarache before, so I wasn't sure what to expect. The base is like a crispy dough, and I got it with all the toppings (no meat). I really liked the sauce they put on top of the dish. The service was very quick and nice. Inside is a very causal dining seating. The surrounding area is a little confusing, and it was hard to find via google maps.

Really wanted to love this place and give it the glowing remarks that they seemed to have on here…read more We passed up a few other places because of the reviews on here. We decided on this place because it stated that they served menudo/pozole on the weekends and that is what I was in the mood for. As soon as we walked in we noticed it was a tad warm. As if they didn't have the a/c on. However, they had their front door open. We walked up to the counter, and my husband was giving the cashier our order, but she seemed like she was in a hurry. Which was weird because no one was behind us. We chose a table closest to the front door, so it was cooler. About 5 minutes past and our number was called so my husband got up to get our order and as he started walking back towards out table I could tell on his face something was wrong. He set the tray down that had chips, salsa and his plate of chicken taquitos, rice and beans and says "apparently they no longer have anymore pozole so she didn't charge me." So why did not one come to our table and let us know and see what we wanted instead? Why did they wait until this was done to tell us knowing this was a dine in order? So then I say ok well can I just get what you ordered? By this time there was about 6 people ahead of my order. So now my husband's food was getting cold even though I insisted he eat but he refused to eat until I received mine. As I said, we wanted to love this place. We've learned that little unassuming hole in the wall places such as these are gems, but when customer service fails like this, you don't make people want to come back. It was just really careless. No one was behind us when our order was submitted. There was at least 5 minutes that past before a line formed after us. There were only 3 items on that order between the front of the house and the back of the house no one caught that one of those orders was an item you ran out of, and you should probably fix that sooner rather than later? Being in the restaurant business is being of service to people and in that moment I the customer and my best interest was not a priority and that's disappointing.

Oh boy, real Santa Maria BBQ! Woo Hoo! Tri-Tip is the name of the game in these parts so that's what I'm doing. Got the Tri-Tip Dip and a side of BBQ sauce so I could have it both ways. I was really looking forward to these West Coast Chili Beans too. Wife wanted BBQ Chicken so I got her the BBQ Chicken Combo. I asked the girl at the register if we could get dark meat with the combo. She looked a little confused and said "You mean like Tri-Tip?" Oh boy. No, dark meat chicken like a thigh and drumstick. "Oh, do you want a breast or a thigh?". Let's roll with the thigh, thanks. Our food came out pretty quickly. I asked for horseradish for the Tri-Tip Dip and was politely told they don't have any. Silly me, why would they have horseradish when they sell a French Dip Sandwich? The Tri-Tip Dip was decent. Not going to lie. The West Coast Chili Beans were a disappointment. I expected so much better. The BBQ sauce was runny and tastes like molasses and maple syrup. Nah, Stick with the Au Jus and you will be fine. The Chicken Combo was a train wreck. Beans cold, rice cold, chicken overcooked by a mile. It's not easy to overcook the hell out of dark meat chicken but they found a way. Wife not happy, at all. It's another one and done.
