I had never been to this restaurant, but my son flew into town from Arizona and wanted to go. He said it was one of his favorite places to eat when he lived in IL and would drive from Palatine. Excellent burrito and chips. I tried all the sauces and they were great. The bathroom was super clean and spotless. Other than the food being perfect this place is run properly and is very clean

I've been going to Burrito Parrilla Mexicana for some time now, and it's fantastic! It's great and affordable for a family of four. I always get the nachos with al Pastor, and the meat is absolutely incredible. You get chips and salsa with your meal, and they bring out four different sauces, each one amazing. The food comes out super fast, which is perfect when you have little ones. The service is great here, you order up at the counter then they bring you baskets of chips and salsa while you wait for your food to come. The building is huge and comfortable for groups. This place is definitely a five-star spot for me and one of the best Mexican restaurants in the Chicago suburbs!

This is the small guac! Definitely large enough for 2-3 people to share

If you ever spend more than a month in El Paso, Texas, it will ruin Mexican food in the rest of the U.S. for you. EP just hits different. And burritos honestly taste better when they're huge, but only a few bucks. But on my forever-quest to find a burrito in the burbs, suitable for any time of the day, Burrito Parilla Mexicana has come through. On the list of quality Mexican eatery, they check the box on everything. Delicious smells, check. Good music, check. A minimum of two salsas, check. A variety of carnes that can be put in burritos, tacos, or tortas, check. I'm not going to lie, I don't shy away from a grungy hole-in-the-wall, but BPM is far from being one. They're super clean, in a beautifully designed and open space. It's honestly shocking that they've been in business for more than one year because the inside really looks brand spankin' new. Dining in is an absolute must. Chips and salsa are served complimentary and they make the chips in-house so you know they're hot and fresh. The salsas are brought out to you once you sit down. None of the salsas were the call-the-fire-station variety, but the heat was definitely there. I was fiending over the salsa de aguacate because I never find that out here and it took me down El Taco Tote memory road. And I ordered a small guacamole that was bigger than I had anticipated. My husband doesn't share my love for avo, but it's definitely big enough for 2-3 to share. The guac was fresh and flavorful with actual bits of tomato, onions, and jalapenos (they're small, but big enough that you can eat around if you're not a fan). I came for the burritos, but I ended up with tacos because the smells from the grill kept screaming "Tacos with lime! Tacos with lime!" So I listened and my stomach was not complaining. I ordered two taco plate al pastor with only onions and cilantro because I was raised right. I doused them with lime, salsa rojo, and salsa de aguacate... Tasty! This was everything I hoped for! My hubby went with a steak burrito sans lettuce and seemed to have a similar experience. BPM has a fan in me and they'll be my first recommendation when people ask me for good Mexican eats in the area! They also have a drive-thru that kept everyone hustling the whole time we were there, but I 100% recommend dining in when given the choice. Phenomenal job making delicious food, on my wishlist for BPM is barbacoa, picadillo, and possibly chicharrones because I think they would execute those so well. But without question, 5 stars through and through.

I used to cringe driving by this building located off of Algonquin rd between a block of automotive care venues as it was once a Fradillio's Hot Dogs, a wannabe Portillo's with poor customer service and subpar food. The expected demise of the above lead to a big sigh of relief. Some time later, enter Burrito Parrilla. Hey, there are a TON of Fresh Mex in the area. One reason that I like this place is because every order that I've placed indeed tastes fresh. Pay attention to little things like lettuce and salsa in places like this. You'll soon be able to tell who tries to serve you old food. Not here. The other big reason I like Burroto Parrilla is because THEY HAVE A DRIVE THRU! Yes you may have to wait a few minutes because food is made to order but spare a minute because the alternative is fast food and/or heatlamped food. I did notice that its a few bucks per item higher than others and I question the justification but they are consistant I guess. Hate to bring up the late Fradillios again but the employees are nicer now, and thats why I come back.

One of my friends had told me about Parrilla but I never knew that they opened this locations. When she told me there is one nearby we had to visit for a take out order. It worked out perfect in the middle of the day as I walked in the staff was very friendly! We ordered grilled veggie burritos and was impressed with all the fresh veggies cooked up on the grill. It looked great and was fun to watch them cook everything. I was more surprised how quickly the made the food to order. Now the food part grabbing one of those packed burritos, given them some extra kick of hot sauce and OH my gosh .... these burritos were amazingly. As a vegetarian there something to be said about using good quality ingredients... everything's was excellent! Chips and sauce great. Just a great experience all the way around. Highly recommended. The restaurant is very clean, safe and organized. We got chips and guacamole as well and when we got home I was surprised how big the burritos were

    Drive thru is always packed.

So many good things to say about this burrito place! - There's a drive-thru, so quick and easy access - The value for the portion sizes is amazing - The kids meals are a steal - Great horchata - Guacamole game on point and chip portion is huge - The house-made salsas are so good that we stock up - At the window, they are always friendly and patient I've been on a chorizo binge, so that's what I've been getting, but the family has loved the beef, steak, al pastor, and carnitas. I'm just sad that they are not open on Sundays (which I approve of and support), because it's one less day I get to go here.

I'm new to the area and have been trying numerous Mexican restaurants because my son loves bean and cheese burritos. Most places were ok. I was pleasantly surprised at the food here. I got al pastor and carnitas, both had good flavor and the meat was not dry. The rice and beans were good well. The guy that brought the food to our table was friendly as well.

Burrito Parrilla Mexicana. To start off they have tons of locations in Illinois. Think as of recent they opened one up in Schaumburg. Since I have some family near Schaumburg and they love Mexican food as well I told them to try it out and they definitely were very happy. They are also closed on Sundays so be aware of that when trying to go to one of their locations. Some things I've tried so far and would recommend. 1. Chicken Chimichanga - I love the grilled chicken they have and the poblano pepper sauce they use on top of it is super addicting. 2. Alambre - If you like meat this is what you should get. Tons of it with Fajia peppers but last I looked they took it off the menu 3. Al Pastor Torta - The Al Pastor and the bread they have is divine. Just not a huge fan of the pinapple that comes with the meat sometimes. 4. The tacos 5. Enchiladas with the poblano pepper sauce 6. The pinapple water to cleanse your pallet. Tons of great food and you can see them make it in front of you. They also have a drive through option (not everything is shown on the drive through menu so I'd have the menu open on your phone). If I have a busy day I just order it online and pick it up for the family and I. Love everything about this place but the only reason I'm notching it down to a 4 is the price. 15.99 for a Chimichanga is pretty high to me and its an average sized Chimichanga but I still keep coming back because it tastes so good.

    Chicken tacos

We were all nervous walking into a Mexican joint on a Thursday night, the one where we had never been before. We were happy to see the spacious insides and clean tables. After we were seated, the server gave us some salsa with warm chips-- those were delicious. Then there was more salsa and chips and afterwards some more. Good thing, we didn't even have to ask for it ! Now was the trickiest part of ordering starters and main course. If I have to tell an authentic from good/average Mexican place--give me the staple. If they can't do justice with tacos, can't trust em with anything else. We ordered chicken tacos, fajitas and burrito. Tacos were bomb ! Corn tortilla was warmed well and ample amount of chicken with cilantro; drenched in lime and the spicy green sauce-- perfection perfection ! Wife had good things to say about the burrito and fajitas were on point. Did I just forget to mention fresh guac?!? It had just the right proportion of onions, not too much to make it taste sweet but just enough for the crunch; not too beaten down to form a paste and not too chunky-- Served in a stone skillet !! Loved it We are coming back for more ! Bring on the tacos !

Also, they have Modelo on tap. That is great. I had the shrimp fajita, and my wife had the taco platter. Both were slightly missing. The shrimp seemed to be subpar tasting (I think they use a sub quality shrimp) and the whole platter was drowning in oil, and was highly underseasoned. My wife's tacos: the Cocinita was really salty! The Carne was the opposite, and she had a chorizo which was a bad brand of a chorizo. It almost tasted like meal, very bland, dry, and just was off. All that for $73. Our server was very nice and she was very attentive. That's the reason why we did tip her 20%. When she asked about the food, he said it was great. Why cause a scene? It was edible, but we're not coming back. Sorry, we arrived at 3 PM, before the rush scene at 5 PM. So there really was no excuse. You need to taste your food. I am sure there are many who don't know the difference, but I've been to Mexican restaurants, including in Mexico. No not your vacation hotspots. I'm talking the real parts of Mexico. There's a huge difference. So, we will still be driving far to find a great Mexican restaurant. The two that I still recommend are La Mera Mera in Libertyville and El Rodero in Streamwood. Both are small little places, but so well worth the trips. They are the closest we can find to being authentic and care for the food they serve. Good luck!
