I used to LOVEEE this place but the past visits I have been extremely upset. I tell them atleast 5 times while placing my order that I am allergic to cheese, and yet somehow EVERYTIME I get my food it has cheese on it. Sick, disgusting food. My burrito had black burnt pieces of char in it. The meat is terrible, their steak bistec whatever the f*ck had pieces of spongy ligaments, I wnated to puke each time i bit into the cartilage sick sh*t. They put rotten sour guacamole with greasy cheap ground beef on the nachos. They double charged my neighbor, may people were double charged, they must be going out of business. You're gonna like the food just fine if you're hungry and you want something hot and greasy to eat. It serves up a good enough burrito for the non-connoisseur (and really, are there burrito connoisseurs?). But last time I went there the service was horrible, making it really not worth it. I went there with about 7 other friends. The guy I was sitting next to ordered a Gyro (it's on the menu). We got our drinks (he got a bottle of coke), and then waited there for a good 30 minutes for the food. Those of us who ordered bottled drinks finished them so we had to order another once the food came. When we all finally did get our food, the waitress came up to the guy who ordered the Gyro and told him that they ran out of Gyro (the meat, I guess?) and that he'd have to order something else. Rather than tell him as soon as he ordered, or at least as soon as she knew, she decided to wait until he could watch the rest of us eat. He ordered a burrito then and threw up three times on the walk back to the dorms. So, obviously nobody is going here expecting 5-star service and food. But you should at least expect to get your food relatively fast, and not to puke it up on the way home. read more

Many souless, sad, coments here. No, it isn't a 'good' burrito---it's an OK burrito served in a place of VERY questionable standards. Is there a 'roach' in the veggies on the table? Don't eat it if that thought displeases you. But *IT IS* like it was after twenty years on---I'm not anymore, but it abides when I come calling on rare occasion. Ordered through Campus Special. Waited nearly two hours for our food with no apology or offer of refund. On top of that, our food was definitely not up to temp when it arrived and had lousy quality. Burritoville is my absolute favorite Mexican restaurant. (I haven't lived in DeKalb in two years, but ever time I go back I have to stop by here). Burritoville is the best place to get late night food, especially after having a few cocktails, I like it anytime during the day ;) . My favorite is the steak burrito and their nachos. Fond memories of this place as an undergraduate at NIU. The location was in the middle of most of the college apartments and at the end of Greek Row, where all the Fraternity and Sorority house are located - also near a couple of bars. There would be lines out the door of this place when the bars close for the evening. The burritos are the best thing on the menu and probably the most talked about item. Gigantic burritos!!! When I go back to the campus, especially with other alumni, we make a stop at this place. Aside from their take out, their catering is equally as good. Service is friendly and bilingual. Ordered from them online via EatStreet, first time trying the place out, fairly small order, nothing compliated or custom, just a drink, a burrito, and some beans/rice. Took well over an hour for the driver to arrive, and not only did I not get my drink but I received the wrong food entirely. I called the restaurant to explain the mistake and was told they would send the driver back out with the missing items. I then got a call from the driver and was rudely told that because of their mistake he would not bring me either my order or the drink I paid for, and was promptly hung up upon before I could even offer a response. This is the 3rd time I've ordered from Burritoville and it will be the last.. It's not the best service/food I've ever had but I've pushed that aside and continued to order from here. This time my boyfriend ordered over the phone for delivery and it all went wrong. The first person to pick up was a man who put us on hold and when the line picked back up it was a Hispanic woman who started speaking Spanish. Thankfully my boyfriend speaks Spanish so he could communicate the order to her but she could not understand him when he told her our address and she had to ask him multiple times.. 20 minutes after placing our order we get a call from them asking what our address is.. My boyfriend had to tell them 3 times what the address is and they kept asking if it was different streets even though he told them the exact address 3 times already. Then they hang up and call back another 5 minutes later to ask what building our apartment is in (even though we told them already) and had us come outside to get our order. Everytime we've ordered from here before they've come to our door so this was weird and inconvenient. Then we get our order and half of it is incorrect.. I specially ordered tacos with ONLY steak, cilantro, onion, and cream, but when I open them they're stacked with lettuce and tomato and no cream at all. So I decide to call and tell them my order is wrong and the girl who picked up was extremely rude when all I was saying was that I wanted the correct tacos. She kept telling me "we didn't even charge you for the cream" as if she's doing me a favor, but I didn't even get cream on them anyways. I told her I wanted my correct order and she repeated that she could send me the cream and rudely said "Do you understand me?" as if I'm stupid.. Then she finally puts me on hold and a man picks up and tells me that he will send me the correct order but now I have to pay 82 cents for the cream and that I have to give the driver my incorrect taco order.. Now why would they want my old tacos? They cannot resell them and in my opinion I should have been able to keep them and gotten the correct ones for free.. I give them 1 star. Thats it! Their food is great! However their service is ABSOLUTELY HORRIBLE! We ordered out, not only did they forget 1 of our meals, but when I called to get this corrected the guy on the phone treated me as if I was lying. The man then proceeded to tell me how sorry they were & that they would rush our meal out and that he would toss in something extra for the trouble. AFTER an hour our food came, so everyone else ate. Plus the food wasn't hot, and to top it off we DID NOT receive ANYTHING extra, they did NOT even include sauced, utensils or napkins! WORST SERVICE EVER, and because of that I will not only tell EVERYONE I know how horrible their service was, but I will NEVER order from there again. PLUS toi make matters worse they charge an extra $5 to deliver to Sycamore ON-TOP of the $3 delivery charge they normally charge, so I paid $8.00 to get my food delivered, plus a tip! Screw that!
