Loved this place! The bacon green chile breakfast burrito takes 15 minutes to make, but that's because they make them to order. The eggs were cooked perfectly and not dry and the bacon was crisp and not soggy. The best part is that they use fresh chopped green chile instead of the typical canned or bottled green chile sauce. The regular drip coffee tastes fantastic! I had it with a splash of cream, but it tasted just like Pinon! During the wait for the burrito, I also had a blueberry cream cheese danish, which was excellent. Good proportion of cream cheese and fruit filling to the danish. You could tell it was fresh because of how soft it was. The only thing I regret is asking them to warm it first! Overall, service is a tad slow but worth the wait. Absolutely fabulous! Fruit pies made with fresh fruit not canned or frozen. Homemade crust. We had caramel apple walnut pie, blueberry pie and mountain fruit(blackberry, blueberry, strawberry, and rhubarb). We took home a loaf of sourdough rosemary olive bread that was delicious. I like to pretend I am a pie connoisseur and when I heard this place has some of the best pie around I knew I was in need to try it. A friend and I were on a road trip and stopped by. Nice cafe that provided us with the coffee and pie we needed. The coffee was great and they have a dozen different pies to choose from. But you might wonder why I only give it four stars and not five and here is the problem, the outdoor table was flimsy and I spilt some coffee when I sat down. Oh and they were out of the two pies I wanted and they had to walk back and forth between the window they served me and the pie station, so this was annoying. But hey, we will be back sometimes and I will give them a 2nd chance so they can always go up or down next time I will be there. read more

The coffee was a coffee, hot and black. I got a slice of the berries of the forest pie which was definitely homemade and created with love. The crust was flaky and buttery and I wish I could have had double the amount (this is my fav part of a pie). The berries were fresh, not canned and the filling was not too sweet, just perfect to balance the bitterness of my coffee and compliment the buttery flaky crust. You can buy a whole pie as well if you have special people you want to impress. read more

We went to Burro Street Bakery both mornings of our stay for breakfast. This is a nice, quaint bakery, that clearly makes their stuff fresh. The drinks are really good quality. They give you two tea bags for larger cups, which is very nice. We had the Blackberry Pie; it was delicious. Not tart at all, very sweet (not maybe to everybody's taste) and a great crumbly crust. We also had a danish and strudel, which were clearly fresh and exceptionally well done both filling and dough. We did try another one of the bakeries but it was not even remotely as good. One of my husband's friends was taking orders for pies and having just moved, my husband said yes, bring us a delicious pie. My husband said surprise us and we got a fruits of the forest. Seriously, this is hands down one of the best pies I've ever tasted. One. Of. The. Best. We've since tried pecan, blueberry, apple and they've all been equally fantastic. Yesterday we stopped in and sadly, we couldn't get a whole fruits of the forest, but got blueberry. And while I was paying, a wonderful woman brought out piping hot fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookies. I got one (should have bought more!) and it was SOoooooooooo magically delicious. Y'all try these cookies if they fresh or take some home and throw them in the oven for a minute. You won't regret it!!! read more

My review is more on the service than the food because I only ordered coffee (no complaints) While I was putting cream and sugar in my coffee a customer came in complaining about how hard her pastries was. I think it was a muffin. After about 10 minutes of explaining and re-explaining the situation to the customer the guy behind the counter finally sent her away satisfied. I don't know what kind of Jedi mind trick he used but he kept his cool and ultimately made the customer happy. I couldn't have done it. I was getting irritated with her while I was listening and making my coffee. You get major props.....well played sir. read more

Customer service is the first step in a great experience...Wendy should be made aware that her counter employee is severely lacking in basic customer service skills...no smile, no knowledge of pie ingredients, slams microwave door shut when asked to not warm my pies in styrofoam box, no "thank you" for purchase. I did not feel valued as a customer at all. We will likely try the other bakery shops on our subsequent visits to this little town to find our " go to" spot. The pies were good and better with the ice cream; although, there was a black fiber in my ice cream. Hopefully you all can make some improvements because your store is quite charming. read more

This review is for our 2019 visit, but I was not able to write it till now. Yelp was not working. We got a couple of baked goods and ordered a cherry pie to be picked up on Sat. as we were leaving the area. All the goods we got were hard, dry and tasteless. Went directly in the trash after a bite. The cherry pie could not be cancelled and had been paid for, so we brought it home. The crust was terrible and so was the filling. The one who really loves cherry pie only ate part of one piece. For a huge amount of money, we got nothing eatable. To add further insult, before we had eaten anything, one got a coffee and I got hot chocolate, which we drank on the sidewalk. Within a short time I got a terrible upset stomach which lasted for hours and ruined our dinner plans as I could not eat and a pizza had to be ordered. The young man who made our drinks and had fixed what we bought and taken a lot of our money had a surly attitude. We did NOTHING to bring this on, but he seemed to take it out on me. I have no idea what he put in my drink, I just know he did and was feeling delighted to get one over on one of his pesky customers. I repeat, neither of us did ANYTHING to deserve such treatment. Even if one did, they do not deserve to be sickened by a person who absolutely should be in another kind of work. read more

Just went this morning and the place was killer. Tried a menagerie: the chocolate in and out pastry, apple danishes, cherry and apple turnovers, strawberry and plain cream cheese pastries, chocolate and glazed cake donuts, and a cinnamon roll. All were superb except the cinnamon roll was not quite what I was looking for (too delicate in flavor). The consistency of the puff pastry is outstanding. Would have tried regular glazed and chocolate donuts but they had sold out and were in the process of making more. They have no set menu, but I would guess that they probably have most of these available on most mornings. They make pies (Apple, peach, strawberry-rhubarb, fruit of the forest, blueberry, peach, etc)-you can call ahead according to the worker I spoke with. They were open 7am-5pm today (a Monday).they also make fresh bread (asiago, garlic, and rosemary-olive oil). I'm not sure about the pies or bread-but if it's anywhere close to their pastries you should try that too. A bit pricey-but it's top quality and this is a tiny mountain town-bravo! read more
