I keep seeing this being referred to as a "dive bar" and it's not what I expected. The place was clean with a fantastic collection of bottle and draft beers. They have a great selection of spirits too from favored vodka's etc. They were pretty busy for a Wednesday night but bartenders were friendly and did a good job of getting our drinks despite a healthy crowd. They have a few TV's for watching sports and a pool table. I don't know what more you could want in a little local bar. I noticed that there is a door inside that connects to the building next door with some food options so you can get snacks and a bit while watching the game and enjoying a beverage.

Okay, so let's talk about Burton's. It is one of my absolute favorite sports/dive bars in the Thornton Park district. Nothing truly special about it, but it is solid as far as a place to get a good variety of reasonably priced craft beer and spirits. It has both inside and outside seating, a full bar, pool tables and Darts. A great place for groups or to watch a college game or sporting events. When I am in that area I usually stop in for a beer or three. I absolutely love Burton's.

Burton's is a neighborhood dive bar, as many have mentioned, in the Thornton Park neighborhood. They have a few tables outside and a small TV on the wall. On the side of the building are two murals. I was happy to see one of the late Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg. Inside is a little dark and divided in two sections with the bar separating the two sides. As you enter you are on the bar side where there are some high-top tables. On the opposite side are arcade games, pool tables and more seating. They have a decent selection of beer on tap and in bottles and cans. The staff were nice enough. I really did not interact much with them and sat outside. They do not serve food, but next door is the Mason Jar Provisions scratch kitchen where you can order food and they will bring it to you at the bar. You may want to order food first, then go to the bar and get your drink and seat.

Friends come here to drink. Cheers for me. I love everyone. They let me play the jukebox today. It's kind of nice. I have some of their friends. Everybody is so wonderful wonderful. Yay I have to fill-in so many characters. Otherwise I can't post my pictures.

Bathrooms are clean too and have a pleasant smell to them (or at least the woman's restroom!) This place has got a couple pool tables and dart boards, and you can order bar food.

Had an early morning follow-up doctor's appointment the other day and received the news everyone…read morewants to hear, a clean bill of health and a "keep doing what you're doing." Naturally, I celebrated by heading to Hideaway for breakfast. While I'm not a regular, I've been visiting Hideaway for years. The original location across the street had a classic smoke-filled dive bar atmosphere, and I could tell stories all day about memorable experiences there. Those stories are best saved for another time. The new location is unquestionably an upgrade in comfort and appearance, though it lacks some of the character and smoke that made the old place so memorable. Fortunately, the things that matter most remain intact. The beer is still ice cold, the drinks are solid, and the food is consistently above average at prices that are hard to argue with. This particular morning, I grabbed a seat at the bar and took advantage of their $5 breakfast burrito (available before 9 AM). The menu lists bacon or ham as protein options, but I was also offered sausage, which I happily chose along with the eggs and cheese. I'm glad I did. The sausage was nicely rendered with crisp edges that delivered little flavor bombs throughout the burrito. Wanting to dress things up a bit, I asked for pico de gallo. My server laughed and replied, "This is a dive bar," before offering salsa instead. Fair enough. The salsa, combined with a generous squeeze of their hot sauce, turned out to be exactly what the burrito needed. In fact, it was so good I briefly considered ordering a second one to go. Then I could practically hear my doctor whispering in my ear, advising restraint, so I reluctantly passed. For those unfamiliar with Hideaway, it's also a major Miami Dolphins fan destination. Whether you're a Dolphins fan or not, I highly recommend experiencing one of their game-day watch parties at least once. The atmosphere is electric and one of the more unique sports-viewing experiences around. My only minor gripe was being charged an extra dollar for the small container of salsa, and it wasn't even pico de gallo. Not enough to ruin an otherwise enjoyable visit, but enough to earn a raised eyebrow. Overall, a great breakfast, a little nostalgia, and a fitting way to celebrate a positive doctor's visit.

A relaxing place to eat and catch a game on their outdoor patio. Definitely get there earlyread more

While it is nothing like it used to be back when Vintage, Vyce, and some of the older bars/night lounges existed, it is still a solid spot. It has also SURVIVED the various neighboring bar changes throughout the years. The bartenders, throughout the years, have also been quite solid! I have a couple of favorites that I always look for when I visit. Even the doormen are cool people. They have resident DJs that play throughout the week and weekends - all are pretty good! The vibe is usually pretty chill. The nights when they are slower are my favorite because they can get pretty packed. Service is usually pretty great. From time to time, they have specials/deals. They offer nice, fairly affordable mid-shelf (or top-shelf) drink options (as well as well-drink options). They also offer hookahs, if you are into that. Please keep in mind that if you have cash on you, you can get the hookah at a discounted rate. They have a decent number of TVs if you are looking to watch any games. As the name suggests, it is a "side" bar, so seating there is limited, but it does make for more than enough on slower days/nights. They have great hours, and you can also order food from Gitto's next door at the bar counter. All in all, it is a good spot to add to bar-hop rotation or to just visit in general.
