We had the fish and chips and the vodka. The fish and chips was the star of the night-perfectly crispy with a great tartar sauce. It also comes with a soup-chicken or clam chowder. The pasta was good too but if you like it very creamy, this might not be for you. Drinks were the rumchaita and the espresso martini; both were excellent. Disappointing at best. Wanted to like this place but it's a no for me. Not a good value for what you get. Ordered the bus stop salad, very small portion for the money. Was more like an appetizer. Nice and cozy place with friendly and attentive staff. Similar layout to Waverly dinner but smaller. The make it your own omelets were very good made with peppers, sausage, cheese, and mushrooms. Bolognese with freshly grated cheese is considerably elevated compared to what I'd associate with diner fare. If the price ($21.99) was closer to the classic juicy hamburger ($11.99 I think) this would be an awesome lunch spot for double plates. Stopped in for lunch the first time recently after a morning at the Whitney Museum. Had a great grilled chicken with avocado sandwich on focaccia bread. Also ordered a Coney Island Mermaid pilsner beer which paired with it nicely. Service and pricing were good, there is a nice diner vibe here if you sit inside. read more

One of my favorite brunch spots... the interior is small, but there is something so charming and cozy about it. We like to sit outside on a nice day, and the hostess has always been so accommodating. Good diner food in a serene atmosphere complimented by good service. Stopped in for a Saturday morning breakfast. Western omelette, fries, buttered rye toast and a side of bacon. Omelette was on point. Fries cooked to perfection and the rye toast on target. 2 negatives, bacon was overly crispy, and the coffee could have been a little warmer. As soon as you added milk, the coffee was lukewarm. I didn't add that much milk. Background music was chamber music at just the right volume to be able to talk without difficulty to the person sitting across from you. Service was great. This location is absolutely so cute, there are two parks right across the street so we opted to sit outside and enjoy the view. We sat in the covered patio area and it was the move. The servers were so friendly and sat us quickly. For food my sister ordered off the specials menu that comes with coffee and juice and I ordered the jalapeno avocado omelette (which came with potatoes and toast). We both had iced coffee that came out quickly. Very good coffee and they bring out milk which is so clutch cause it's way better than those little creamers. The food came out at a reasonable speed. Portion sizes were large. My eggs were perfectly cheesey and pillowy. I seriously loved this omelette. Crispy little potatoes with onions were the perfect side. Sometimes good diner type breakfast food is what you need. If I lived around here, I would come often because the prices weren't that bad either. I associate Bus Stop Cafe with a lot of nostalgia as it was one of the first places I ate when I officially moved to NYC. BSC is a cozy neighborhood spot that serves up warm food and good vibes. I and my friend had originally gone to West Village to eat at another eatery, but all the outdoor seating was occupied (this was at a time we couldn't dine in). So we wandered in the opposite direction and came to this cute little diner with lovely plant decor. Sold. We started off with sangria which was super good, and I had the linguini with chorizo (looks like it's not on the menu anymore). It was the best comfort food ever, and it tasted fresh. Service was great and I felt like no one rushing us to leave, so we could savor every bite and every sip. It's a lovely, affordable, no frills cafe. I loved my time there and can't wait to visit again. read more

We had coffee refills a couple of times. For a busy place, the service was decent. I enjoyed my omelet and my friend enjoyed his waffles. The burger I heard was outstanding. you're supposed to listen to your customers not argue with them when they're paying money. I've noticed this in alot of establishments in nyc, managers have developed a victim mentality where the customer has to walk on eggshells now or risk getting into a full fledged argument (I blame covid for this.) the customer, unfortunately, isn't right anymore because businesses have developed so many excuses to use against us. this has been about the sixth business I've frequented where I've gotten spoken back to by an employee or manager, and I'm becoming fed up. idk if its a comfortability thing, when a customer frequents an establishment- but when they pay the full price you have to respect them as a CUSTOMER not a buddy! now thats 20 dollars I won't get back, so to not have to waste my time again I won't be returning. soon EVERY nyc restaurant will be on this list if this doesn't change. its uncanny now. read more

I different take on a typical brunch drink and really tasted like a boozy martinelli's. The brunch itself was really excellent! My friend had the steak and eggs, and I had the very berry waffle. Belgian waffle covered in greek yogurt, honey, toasted almonds, and fresh berries. Beautiful to look at and really delicious! I like vodka sauces that are heavier on the cream than the tomato - and when it initially came out looking more deep red than pink I got nervous it would be more tomato based. Nope - it was creamy goodness. The calamari was also insanely good. The marinara they served with the calamari was almost cheesy. It was awesome. Finally, a tasty bottle of dry Pinot Grigio white wine! This place is kid friendly, and appears to be locals more so than tourists. BRUNCH REVIEW: Really tasty comfort food. I ordered an omelette with extra cheese, only the find out they give "plenty" of cheese (so I retracted the extra cheese request). I usually give that only because most restaurants give very little.
