My favorite tuna out from LA has made its way to New York and it's just as good here. I did an order Pickup and it took a while but they did offer me orange juice or lemonade while I waited which was really nice. Tuna melt is truffley and rich, but not too heavy, and the sourdough is perfectly crunchy. The heirloom tomato adds a good amount of freshness. Update: went again and got the breakfast burrito so much better than I remember it being the bacon is perfectly crispy, tater tots add such a nice buttery component. All the food was surprisingly mid, or just above that given the wait. To be fair no one ordered the breakfast burrito or pancakes, so maybe do those if you come. It is brunch so it's hard to go very wrong. I think they're just in a good location. Restaurant is pretty small and the decor is shabby country diner. Go if you're around and can just walk in. We went Sunday morning and had a decent wait. They were kind enough to give hot chocolates to people on line. Once you get inside you order the food and find a table yourself. It's first come first serve. The tipping system is weird, they charge a 20% tip on order over $50 right when you order. For the food, the breakfast burrito ($18, 9/10) was pretty good they had has browns inside, and I would totally order again if not for the wait. Definitely something you can order for pickup and eat on the go. I would Tuna Melt $18 8/10 - The portion size was good, and they grill the sandwich with some cheese on the crust that adds to the taste. I would order this again. Banana Pancakse $21 8/10 - The pancakes were nice and sweet with bananas slices in them. It tasted exactly like how you would imagine banana pancakes to be. Overall I really liked this spot, it's fast and casual and good. You order at the counter and then grab a number and they bring the food to you. Overall all the service was pretty nice. The food came out pretty quick as well. Overall both of the dishes I tried were really good, the breakfast burrito I thought was very good and I preferred it to the pancakes but always good to have a savory and sweeter item. I thought it was a little pricey especially bc the burrito is just a burrito with no sides or fruit or salad or anything, but that's New York I guess. Overall good spot! read more

Another LA import where you order at the counter and they bring it to your tables it's a great spot to dine In alone with newspaper's & magazines aplenty. Ate: Tuna wraps with avocado Cole slaw Total with tax & tip $33 I must admit I didn't see the salmon or would've gotten that.My food was tasty not exciting but made better with yummy cilantro sauce. I must admit everything people ate looked incredible. The tuna melt and pancakes. I've always wanted to try this spot in LA but was never able to make it, so was so excited to hear when they opened a NYC location! You order at the counter before finding a seat and on a Saturday late morning, there was not much of a line and it was pretty easy to find a table. Staff is also super nice! The atmosphere is definitely lively and on the louder side though. We of course had to try all the most popular dishes. Here's what I thought: - Breakfast burrito (4.5/5): not the best breakfast burrito I tried before but I'm pretty picky. This was still really darn good. Not really a bacon fan so subbed for the turkey sausage which was very juicy and delicious. Eggs were also perfectly soft scrambled, the hash browns added the perfect crisp without being too much, and the tortilla was soft and chewy! Honestly did not feel too heavy at all. - Banana pancakes (5/5): if you get one thing, it MUST be this. These pancakes were probably my favorite I ever had at a restaurant- perfectly fluffy, crisp on the edges and moist on the inside, and surprisingly light. There were also moist chunks of banana scattered throughout -- those were my favorite bites. - Tuna melt (3.5/5): just personal preference but I'm not the hugest fan of tuna and it was a bit room temp (I wish it was served warm). The truffle flavor was also present but wish it was a bit stronger. The sourdough bread was absolutely delicious though -- it was crispy, chewy, and everything I wanted from a sandwich bread Overall great ambiance to grab brunch and catch up with a friend! I have been wanting to try the food from here but they won't deliver here with the boundaries so frustratingly I had to pay for a courier for pickup. I had ordered extra dressing and also ordered a different type of chicken for my salad which did not come when my food arrived. I got a credit from Uber Eats for that but I still feel like this is something that could have been avoided. My salad was actually pretty good (ordered the Chinese chicken salad) but I was disappointed that I couldn't get the chicken schnitzel because they forgot it. TBH the breakfast burrito really is incredible (got it without the sauces btw)! So crunchy, cheesy, just everything you could want and more. I had it once dining in & once delivered, and will say that the delivery didn't have the same magic as my IRL experience. Beware that if your total table tab is $50+, there's a service charge of 20% (even though you seat yourself). Is it worth waiting in line for again? No. But without a line, I would 100% go again. The line dies down around 3pm on a weekend and moves faster with more tables available around then. There's a lot more seating than expected inside but it's first come first serve so can be tough especially if it's easier in the morning on a weekend. My friends and I waited in line and even though we got there around 1ish, they had unfortunately already run out of bananas but they were able to make blueberry pancakes instead of their traditional banana and they were still delicious and are gf!! We also got the breakfast burrito which was so so yummy, the sauce that they give on the side really elevates it too - highly reccomend and would definitely be back later in the day to try other items. read more

Decent food but not worth waiting in line or going out of your way for. This is the first NYC location of an LA hotspot. It's order at the counter first then sit down, and a pretty big space. We tried the Breakfast Burrito, Tuna Melt, and Banana Pancakes. Food didn't come super quickly and everything was lukewarm except the pancakes. Breakfast Burrito - Our favorite. Nice textures and flavor. Really like the combo of ingredients in this. It's small though. Tuna Melt - Crispy but not very appetizing when eaten lukewarm. Nothing special. Quite greasy. Banana Pancakes - We liked these. Gluten free and still fluffy. Started to feel very greasy as well though after a couple bites. Service was a bit strange. No utensils or water provided even after food was served. We had to ask and were also given 1 single napkin. Maybe they're still figuring out their service flow. Everyone was nice though. read more

I was told the breakfast burrito is what this place is known for so I got that as well as the BTA. They both cost $18 but the portion size for the BTA was larger. I found the burrito to be way too small for the price. I would usually split a burrito but this portion was too small to share. It was good but I wouldn't go back for it. The food was 10/10 but the experience was a 2/10. We got the banana pancakes and breakfast burrito which were amazing. Pancakes were some of the best I think I've ever had. Absolutely Not a fan of the first come first serve seating. Very chaotic atmosphere. We had to change our order to "to go" and then put our own food in the boxes. They also charge 10% gratuity for a place that does nothing except make your food. There are no waiters, you get your own water too. I'm going to go ahead and start with the bad, which was the line. I really dislike waiting over an hour to get breakfast. I would probably give less stars if it weren't for the fact that this place is new and it's going viral so that's likely why there was such a long line. I should also note that after you are on the line, you go inside and the tables are first come first serve basis, so you may wait on line and actually not have a seat and have to take it to go. Luckily that wasn't the case for me. Now on to the food, I will say the gluten-free pancakes and waffles were beyond delicious. The pancakes had a great crisp to them and the banana flavor was perfectly balanced. The waffles were so fluffy and airy that my friend who isn't gluten-free was shocked by how good they were. The rest of the items were your standard breakfast items, but well made. The place has more seating than you would expect from the outside. They do have a lot of staff that are walking around and cleaning up and turning the tables over quickly. You also didn't have to wait long for the food once you were seated. I probably wouldn't go back for a while or until the hype dies down. read more

I really wanted to rate this place 5 stars, as the food was solid, the service was quick, and I got lucky not to have to wait in a line outside. Despite all that, I couldn't look past the coffee. I wanted to check out Croft Alley because I really loved Lola Taverna, which used to be in this space, but unfortunately it didn't live up to expectations. The overall vibe and cleanliness were a letdown. The bathrooms were surprisingly messy, honestly more like a crowded bar bathroom, if not worse, which set a negative tone. Service-wise, there is an automatic 20% gratuity even though there is no traditional waiter or waitress service. This felt hard to justify given the experience. Food was mixed. The Chinese chicken salad was a very large portion and the dressing was tasty, but it was absolutely smothered in fried wontons. I would have much preferred some balance with vegetables like carrots or edamame instead of so much crunch. The steak and egg bowl was decent overall, but awkward to eat. The steak was difficult to cut in the bowl, and two out of the six pieces were entirely fat and not edible. Overall, Croft Alley feels like a downgrade from what was here before. There is potential, but between the cleanliness issues, automatic gratuity, and uneven execution, it didn't quite hit the mark for me. read more

First off the portion size is very small, the breakfast burrito at this price point is tiny. There is also a 20 % service charge if you spend 50 $ which is odd because you do not get any service whatsoever . They simply dump a napkin and a fork and knife in the middle of the table and fill a small glass of water . After your food is delivered they never check on you again. Do not come here unless you know the owner. We waited in line for 1.5 hours while multiple parties of people were cutting the line because they are friends with the owner. The vibe was pretentious micro influencers that somehow all knew each other (probably bc they are all friends with the owner). While the food was good, the atmosphere was chaotic and the service was terrible. The same waitress came to our table multiple times asking if she could clear the plates when it was blatantly obviously some of the people at the table were still eating. While I love dogs, dogs do not have a place at a sit down restaurant. One literally jumped onto my friend. It is not sanitary and probably is not up to health codes. read more
