As someone who hits up Red Rocks 10+ times a summer, this service feels straight from the concert god herself.

We had several pieces of tech accessories to dispose of, outdated and mostly not working either. They were taking up space we needed to clear. We took them out to this facility, near several other facilities they operate. Good website with lots of directions and maps and fee scale. It was easy to find, followed directions out there and turned out to be easier than expected, early on a weekday. There is a fee for entering but only $3.00 and it is added to your bill if you have to pay any fees for what you bring in. We took several pieces for which there was a fee but it is very reasonable at $0.59 per pound and they do not weigh any of the accessory cables. Our pile of an old printer, a flat bed scanner and a wireless router came to only 24 pounds. We will be back another time with a few things that need their hard drives erased beforehand and I believe most of these devices are free to recycle. I will also use the Hazardous Household Recycle location again which I have used more frequently in the past for old paints and yard and household chemicals that are outdated, etc. That location is a block north of this one. It's nice to have a local community facility that will responsibly dispose of these objects. They also provide an option for bulk items, like cardboard, block rigid foam, scrap metal etc. A lot of those are free also. I suspect they are pretty busy on Saturdays and they are not open on Sundays. Better than sending this stuff to a landfill and will accommodate things than cannot go out in curbside residential recycling. We have done the curbside for decades, as long as it has existed in Boulder.

I'm a huge fan of Eco-Cycle and all they do to support our beautiful community. From recycling and…read morecomposting to presence at local events they always have their best foot forward. I've actually had the pleasure to be on the "green team" at Hanuman Yoga Festival for a couple of years as a volunteer. They educated us in a helpful and encouraging way so we could assist event attendees in properly compost, recycle, and discard with care. Contained within it's substantial walls is CHaRM (Center for Hard-to -recycle materials). Here you can properly hand off anything from a fax machine, to paint, to a yoga mat! The cost is often determined by weight so you can feel good letting go of those challenging items without breaking the bank or feeling bad putting it in the regular garbage. Every interaction I have had at their facility or volunteering under their guidance has been a pleasure. I look forward to doing some spring cleaning and visiting Eco-Cycle with items that aren't quite fit for donation.

I honestly don't understand the bad reviews at all. These are dogs that have been rescued from high…read morekill shelters and often have been through very traumatic events. Their purpose is to try to find the best fit possible for these dogs so as to make sure these dogs aren't put through more trauma and have forever homes. With that, merely putting in an application for a dog doesn't guarantee you're the best fit for the dog you're interested in compared to somebody else. From what I understand they will often take a while to go through their applications because they want to make sure the dog gets adopted by the best candidate for the dog. There are plenty of dogs my fiancé and I could've applied for and probably would've been denied for because they just wouldn't have been a good fit. Also...I'm sorry, but given the fact that this is a RESCUE, not a breeder or whatever, they can't guarantee the breed of the dog ffs. Since they're a non-profit I don't think they have the funds for DNA tests when they're often funding medical treatment etc for the dogs they're rescuing. If you're heart set on adopting a breed, don't rescue I guess? We adopted our dog several days ago and we are in love. His foster family was amazing and we even have made a point to stay in touch with them so they can see how he's doing :) It took Becca/the fosters a few days to get back to us but the process was exactly as expected given the fact that they clearly wanted to extensively look through applications. He is such a wonderful fit in our family and we are really grateful we went through a rescue that clearly really cares about every dog they adopt out.

I am extremely disappointed with Brighter Days Rescue…read more I adopted my puppy at the end of March and was told that he was fully vaccinated and microchipped. After adoption, I discovered that this information was incorrect. The records I initially received were inaccurate, and it took weeks for the rescue to send me the correct records. What was particularly frustrating was that the rescue initially blamed the veterinary clinic that performed my puppy's neuter surgery for the missing vaccines and microchip. I work at that clinic and was able to verify that the issue was not with the clinic. The problem was with the information and records provided by the rescue. Instead of taking responsibility for the mistake, blame was placed elsewhere. Because of this situation, I had to pay out of pocket to have my puppy vaccinated and microchipped myself. When I asked about reimbursement, I was told that the rescue provides those services at a lower cost than what veterinary clinics charge. However, nobody even asked how much I actually paid before denying reimbursement. The decision seemed to be based on assumptions rather than the facts of the situation. What made the experience even worse was the lack of communication. My messages often went unanswered, and I felt completely ignored rather than supported. Instead of taking responsibility for the errors, they seemed more interested in avoiding the issue. My puppy was adopted at the end of March, and it took weeks of back-and-forth before I finally received the correct records. This should have been handled properly from the beginning. I love my dog more than anything, and adopting him was the best decision I've made. He is absolutely worth every penny, and I would adopt him again in a heartbeat. My issue is not with my dog--it is with how this rescue handled the adoption process after the fact. Organizations that fail to provide accurate records, avoid accountability, and leave adopters to deal with the consequences contribute to the growing lack of trust people have in rescues. Experiences like this are part of the reason many potential adopters become hesitant about adopting in the first place. For an adoption fee of over $600, I expected accurate medical records, honesty, accountability, and better communication. Unfortunately, my experience was the opposite. I hope Brighter Days improves its record-keeping, communication, and transparency so future adopters do not have to go through the same experience.
