Given all my travels, I still find this place to be some of the better Thai that I've had.

Best Thai place in all of Colorado. All dishes are made fresh to order. They come out piping hot and full of flavor. The weekday lunch special is a great piece, but it's still worth to pay regular price during dinner. Highly recommend. read more

Tasty! What a nice surprise to find a delicious Thai restaurant in the Louisville area. Set in a new, rather empty shopping area, Busaba is minimally decorated, clean, and has a nice patio area that would be suitable for warm afternoons or evenings. They have a reasonably priced lunch menu which includes a small selection of items from their regular dinner menu. Prices for lunch were about $8 for a variety of curries, noodle, and vegetarian dishes. You choose your meat and spice level. The waitress also provided us with the dinner menu in case we wanted to look at the appetizers. I'm glad she did because we noticed the Thai Ravioli which was filled with meat and steamed like a dumpling. We enjoyed the Drunken Noodles - wide flat noodles with pork, green peppers, bean sprouts, and cabbage. The sauce and seasoning was really savory. We also enjoyed the Red Curry that came with Thai eggplant (something that they said is becoming increasingly easy to get in the area), bamboo shoots, green beans, carrots, pepper, and tofu. It had the usual powerful lemongrass flavor and the medium hot spice gave you a good little kick. We ordered Jasmine hot tea as well, but I'll think twice next time. At $2/person for Jasmine tea (in a regular old tea bag) was over priced as far as I was concerned. The menu didn't indicate this was some sort of special, imported tea either. There is a large bar in the center of the restaurant, but it didn't seem to be set up for actually enjoying a drink or a meal. Hopefully they'll get it that built up so that it's a little more inviting to hang out at for a beverage. We'll definitely be back to try out dinner. read more

Food is great... but can you get it?(!) I have dined there several times and really do like the food. My experience tonight was really frustrating!! My girlfriend and I arrived there on a Saturday night at 5:30. We put ourselves on the wait list and were told by a young hostess, who was not polite, that the wait was 30 minutes. We waited the 30 minutes, but while we did, several parties of 3 and 4 showed up without reservations and were seated ahead of us. After we had waited the 30 minutes, we asked the hostess how much longer the wait would be and she told us that it would be another 20 to 25 minutes. We asked her about the parties of 4 who kept coming in and getting seated and she said it was because they had 4 top tables that worked better for those parties. It felt more like they make more money from larger parties so those parties get priority. The moral: DON'T GO THERE IF YOU'RE A PARTY OF TWO OR UNLESS YOU JUST DON'T CARE HOW LONG YOU WAIT FOR YOUR DINNER AND ARE HAPPY TO GET PASSED OVER REPEATEDLY EVEN THOUGH YOU PUT YOUR NAME ON THE LIST. LAME. Carryout is also difficult. Can't call and get through. I've never had success--I have to go down there and order and then sit for 30 minutes. Not convenient at all. read more

For the gluten-intolerant diner, I heartily recommend Busaba. Tell the wait staff that you're gluten intolerant. They were knowledgeable and were very thorough in preparing my dish to ensure it was gluten-free -- and tasty! I had the GF Pad Thai, and Tom Kha. My boyfriend had the Red Curry and Tom Yum. I loved the Tom Kha. It was very tangy and flavorful. We shared the summer rolls appetizer. Wonderful. All of the wait staff pitch in and help out with all of the tables, so the service is really great. read more

For Colorado, I have to say that this place has very decent Thai food. My favorite dish here is the Drunken Noodles (Thai hot spicy). There is the perfect amount of flavor and spice in each bite and the food has been consistently good. I have been here several times and each time I have had no complaints about the quality and flavor of the food here. read more

Best Phad Tai I've had in a while in Colorado. We went as a team for lunch and all had Phad Tai. They also have different levels of spiciness you can choose from. We went there during lunch but it's always busy, so get there early! read more

This was the third Thai restaurant I tried after arriving in the area and it quickly became the favorite. I took my host family there for dinner a month ago and a colleague and I ate there yesterday for lunch. Know as a Thai food snob, I'm hard to please and Busaba comes closest to usurping my all time favorite Thai restaurant in terms of taste, complexity, and variety. I've tried the corn fritters, larb, panang curry with chicken, and Thai basil with chicken-the latter two at a medium spice level. The fritters were sweet, crispy, and flavorful treat, especially with the dipping sauce. The curry was rich and flavorful with specks of spice suspended in the mixture; the chicken was tender and all white-meat. The chicken in the Thai basil dish was ground, like the larb, which I don't think I'd had prepared that way before; the dish also lacked the brown sauce I've become accustomed to, but I think I'll learn to set those expectations aside and let my palate dance in the mixture of spices and fresh vegetables. The staff was attentive and friendly both visits; there weren't many other guests for our weeknight dinner, but we took the last table and lunch, but didn't feel ignored or wanting for water. I feel like a 3 might be unfair, because they were clearly short staffed and having a hard day when I visited. The wait for a table was 20-minutes or so, which is not unusual for a party of 5 at noon on a weekday. No big deal. We were able to order pretty quickly, but the food took probably 30-40 minutes? In total, it was a 2-hour lunch. However, the food was good and the portions were reasonably sized for lunch. I've heard it's the best in the burbs, so I will definitely give it another shot! read more

I seriously adore Busaba, and you should too. My story starts in the pre-Busaba era, being a Thai food aficionado tragically placed in Louisville. With no good Thai options (or really any good options for anything except bar food and Italian), I had to wait for my Denver ventures in order to get my fix. The Siamese Plate that previously lived in Louisville gave me many terrible dining experiences, so I didn't really know what to expect when I saw that a new Thai restaurant was coming, other than more disappointing local fare. But, thankfully, my optimism and curiosity won out, and I went to try Busaba the second night they were open. And what happened? Hell froze over that night, because I discovered that there is amazing Thai food in Louisville, Colorado. Why do I love this place? The family who owns Busaba are such warm, lovely people, who are passionate about serving delicious and authentic Thai food and creating a great dining experience. Their dedication shows throughout, from their excellent food to their attention to customers. You truly feel welcome and at home here. But, why I REALLY love Busaba is the food. Everything I've had here has been fantastic. Between all of my visits with friends and family, I think I have probably tried every item on the menu at this point. They make EVERYTHING in house, including their amazing curry pastes, and make sure to locally source their ingredients as much as possible -- expect high quality ingredients. For appetizers, I recommend their crab rangoon, the chicken puff, and the chicken egg rolls. Among the salads, you MUST try the larb, a ground meat, red onion, rice, cilantro, and lime concoction served over lettuce (I recommend pork, and I also recommend thai hot if you are macho enough to do so). My favorite curries are the red and penang, Thai hot and with extra crushed chile peppers on the side, just in case. Chicken, beef, and tofu are all tender and wonderful here, so choose the meat or unmeat of your liking. The rice is perfect at Busaba, sticky and flavorful and delicious when covered in curry sauce. I haven't had a bad dinner yet, but their basil chicken is a tasty take on a classic, goong ob woon sen is something different and yummy if you feel like you need more bean threads or bacon in your life, and for the vegetarians out there, the pad woon sen and broccoli paradise are both great. And, if you're a dessert person, the fried banana wonton is awesome. If you haven't gone here yet, seriously, go. Between the wonderful atmosphere, caring staff, and fantastic food, this is my favorite Thai restaurant in Colorado, and is definitely worth a visit (or in my case, many many visits!) read more

Well, Busaba, you have ticked off yet another local. Your business depends on repeat business and referrals. Expect none here. Many times we have had the Average food at Busaba. Many times we have cried, "We miss Thai Basil!" which we pick up when we visit Denver. Many times we say, "Meh" after our meal, and many times we vow not to return. Well, let's make it more official. Our final visit to Busaba resulted in yet another extremely skimpy order. Frasca, this is not. I get it when restaurants use such high quality ingredients and such outstanding flavor combinations that the inevitably tiny portions are warranted. Busaba, methinks you need to revisit the concept of Customer Appreciation. Busaba strives to give you the least for the most. Least in quality, least in accomodation, least in value, as you will find. A moderate example: We ordered green curry, and it arrived (this time to go) in a very short container that was no where near full. When we commented about it's size, we were asked if we wanted to talk to the chef and also were told that the container is "wider" so the curry is not filling the container. Choosing not to argue about the cheapness of the restaurant's owners with the chef, we went home to do our own math. After measuring the miniscule two cups of curry in the so-called "new and wider" container, and then comparing it to an old container of normal take-out dimensions, we realized not only that we had been duped, but doubly so! The regular size thai curry from every other restaurant (and much better establishments!) in Boulder and Denver yielded TWICE the amount - 4 cups of curry! WOW! Would you really charge $18.50 for a regular size of curry? That is what you are saying by insulting us with only half of the regular amount. Trust me, it's not worth half of that! Now, granted, it isn't the best curry we have had, so leftovers be damned! This of course was topped by the even sorrier excuse for an appetizer, the thai ravioli. Not only was this purely tasteless and the meat of mysterious texture, the little tidbit was hardly worth more than a corn chip. Sigh... maybe you will mend your ways, someday, and listen to your customers. Until then, you will be content to serve those that are not as thai-aware in their tastes and who enjoy seeing you get the better end of the deal. read more

Food is tasty and their two peanut sauces are great, but kind of expensive for what you get. Limited vegetables in the vegetarian dishes and portion sizes are on the single serving side. Staff is always pleasant and typically attentive. Been coming here for years sad to see the changes. read more

Terrible service and ok food. This is not a 5 star restaurant but they seem to think it rates making their customers wait an hour or more for their food. After 40 minutes we asked our server when the food might be coming, and she said another 20 minutes. We ended up walking out without our food. It seems totally disorganized there. Servers are moving around but there doesn't seem to be any purpose to their motion, nor does there seem to be a lead person trying to keep everyone organized. Organization and shorter food to table times are necessary for this place to stay in business. read more

Wonderful Thai food! We love this place. I go here for lunch during the week, as well as for dinner with my family. The Tom Kha soup is delicious -- creamy, yet tangy, with chicken and mushrooms tender and cooked to perfection. The chicken satay was yummy, and the summer rolls were a delightful surprise (mmm... cilantro). We like the yellow curry as well as the mussamon curry. I get the appeal and why it's always packed - authentic dishes, fresh ingredients and you can get your food mega spicy. The service is so terrible I would not recommend this to anybody unless they Intended to order take-out. I will not return as I believe I can find just as good food with a better managed staff. I have eaten here three times since moving to Louisville in August. I've had the chicken potstickers, summer rolls with chicken, with Chicken and red curry. All are spiced perfectly. Service is just right. Zero complaints. I would recommend to anyone inside a 25 mile radius, IE I would drive that far to eat here! Good comfy ambience. Highly recommended. read more
