Recently, I had a business meeting at B&P Anacostia. Due to the snow piles affecting parking, finding a safe and convenient parking spot was a real challenge. Honestly, the curb appeal was missing something. Although my navigation announced my arrival, the actual restaurant was not visually clear to me. The location sits on the corner of the block, but the exterior décor is a bit on the darker side, which is probably why I initially overlooked it. Once I entered, the vibe felt warm and welcoming. The host pointed out my business partner, and our waitress, Saniyah, immediately introduced herself and kindly took my drink order. Due to the business nature of the meeting, I didn't take much time to review the menu. However, both my business partner and Saniyah recommended the Fried Chicken sandwich, it was well worth the recommendation. That sandwich, coupled with a side salad and their balsamic dressing, made for a perfect lunch combination. Saniyah was very attentive, the food was great, and the vibe was smooth and relaxing, quite suitable for a business meeting or lunch with friends or colleagues. Aside from the parking situation, B&P Anacostia is a great option for meetings or dining in the area. Recommendation level: If you are comfortable with the Anacostia area, I definitely recommend B&P. Note: My apologies for not having photos of the food. I was there on business and did not intend to post a review. However, Saniyah deserves a positive mention & Yelp truly helps drive business.

I've visited this location a few times for dinner or to grab a drink with friends. This time we ordered food for pick up and our meal wasn't ready in time so we spent some time browsing the book area. While this locations "bookstore" is much smaller than the other locations there were a few titles that caught my eye in the "self care/wellness" area. I think the front could use some more decor to give it the true Bus Boys feel. Our entrees Salmon and blackened mahi mahi were mostly good (mahi was salty) I will likely return for takeout.

Busboy & Poets has several locations in the DMV area, which they offer a bookstore, a cafe, a restaurant, a cafe/bar, and a stage, all in one. We came here for a large group gathering for a later lunch, and I ordered: +the Shrimp & Chicken Chorizo Pasta - this was penne pasta with spicy chicken chorizo sausage, shrimp, mushrooms, shallots, garlic, Parm, and cajun cream sauce, served with a side of garlic bread I requested extra cajun cream sauce, but note that they charge you $3 for this! The pasta dish itself was okay, but I wasn't a fan of the chorizo - the shrimp was large and plentiful. The garlic toast was garlic-y, but could have come out better toasted and more warm. Other members of our party ordered Wings Inferno, Fried Chicken, Fried Catfish, Crab Cakes, Blackened Salmon, and various sandwiches. We had only one server assigned to our table, and while he was nice, he was definitely struggling in terms of forgetting requested items (silverware, refills, drinks, etc.). The kitchen also seemed to be lagging and inaccurately preparing orders (some due to dietary restriction, others due to aversions); we all didn't receive our food at a similar time, and some individuals' items were totally forgotten or came towards the end of the gathering... Larger parties automatically include gratuity. Overall, our experience was less than mediocre and a really dragged out process... Street parking can be found around the area. +inaccurate orders +struggles with larger parties +street parking available

The best shrimp and grits I've had in my life! The corn and asparagus really elevated the dish. It also has the perfect amount of spice. 10/10. I would order again!

I visited this location for happy hour on a Thursday evening. I did Uber there because parking is a bit of a challenge. The establishment was clean and the staff was very friendly. I ordered a drink at the bar and headed to the back rooms for trivia night. I think the happy hour prices are very reasonable and I had a great time. I will be back. I didn't get to eat at this location, but the next visit I will try the food.

Let me start with ambiance - For ONE I love their happy hour, it's filled with beautiful people trying to unwind. The bar staff are friendly whenever we sit at the bar. Let me start with the best dishes. Vegan Nachos - Yes the vegan version is just as good as the meat/dairy version. I love to get it during HH, it's a perfect portion. The larger meat nachos are also good and massive for me. Salmon Entree - Lord! I love this salmon it's perfectly seasoned everytime. Sometimes I get the wild rice, or switch up to mashed potatoes. I even switch up the asparagus for greens or spinach it depends on my mood. Sweet Potato pancakes - If i'm there for brunch I get these in addition to my meal. They have a smaller portion on the kids menu. These are sooooo good. Chicken Panini - One of my favorite sandwiches on the menu. Greek/Mediterranean Burger - So good but be aware that it comes on pita. I can pass on their fries nothing special.

    Busboys Side Crab Grits $10.99

Ordered food online for restaurant pickup. Order was over $120. All I asked for was a side of Crab Grits and Cajun sauce. Only to get home with my food ready!!!! Open the container to find (see photo). First time going to this location. Look like someone was eating out of this and just put a lid on it. Talking to manager over the phone; stated "the amount I received was the correct amount." Not disagreeing because I frequent Hyattsville and no issues ever. I'm not complaining too much because the manager was nice and assisting of the matter; I just know that what I got is not it.

What a great way to celebrate my birthday for breakfast at one of my favorite places Bus Boys & Poet. I never ate at the SE location, so this is semi-like a 1st for me lol. It was pretty early and barely anyone was here yet which I appreciated. This spot was colorful, clean and had vibrant vibes even without being crowded. EGG & CHEDDAR SANDWICH ON CROISSANT Fluffy eggs with cheddar and freshly cut avocado slices on buttery semi-toasted croissant bread was absolutely delicious. LUMBERJACK PANCAKES 3 giant fluffy buttermilk pancakes topped with fresh blueberries and strawberries with dusted powdered sugar. This was way bigger than expected and to be honest, 1 pancake was enough so the other had to come home with us. FEELING ADVENTUROUS I am sooooo sad this drink was taken off the menu but luckily the bartender was able to do it. This is by far the most unique yet delicious and moister watering non-alcoholic drink I've ever had. I love it so much and really hope they add this back on the menu. Our waitress was so nice and sweet! Great service and food, I definitely will come back to sit down and enjoy again soon!

I ordered the steak & cheese egg rolls and they were very good! NOW- you might ask .. so why is your rating a 2? I was lowkey always a bit paranoid being at Allure because it's so dark & small little holes in the floor/seating ends. A big a* roach ran by my foot from the couches & it was as big as a water bug but it didn't fly. Then !!!!! My sister and friends went like two weeks after. They was the first ones there for HH guess what ran out? A RAT - a big a* one too. They also said the vibe was a bit different. Too much smoke (cigarettes, weed, hookah) all in one. I really hate that a rat ran by them inside because I would've went back. Now I just can't. To know that I had some of the food there makes me nauseous. If you are not scared of them, go for the drinks. That's all.

I ordered the Mexican Caesar salad with salmon, and it was absolutely delicious. For appetizers, we shared the wings and truffle fries, and neither disappointed. Everything we ordered was flavorful, well-prepared, and beautifully presented. We had red velvet cake for dessert, served with strawberry ice cream. Those flavors paired well together and were a surprisingly delicious combination. It was the perfect way to end the meal. Service was good as well. There was no outdoor seating available, which looked like a great option for enjoying the scenery. We sat inside but stepped out onto the balcony to take pictures and take in the incredible views of Washington, D.C., and the Capitol. There's no smoke and mirrors here--the city views are stunning from here. The view alone makes this place worth a visit. While it is on the pricier side, the combination of great food, excellent atmosphere, and breathtaking scenery makes it well worth the cost. I would definitely recommend Smoke & Mirrors for a special night out and look forward to returning.

It's the kind of place that should be a reliable go-to for a group looking to catch sunset drinks before dinner. We made a reservation for eight, which turned out to be completely unnecessary given how empty it was when we arrived. After getting seated, 15 minutes passed without a single server coming by. Not a water drop, not an acknowledgment, nothing. A few of us eventually walked up to the host stand and asked if we could just order drinks at the bar while we caught the last of the sunset on the patio. Even that took far longer than it should have. This isn't a packed Friday night situation where you chalk it up to volume. The place was largely empty. The bar was slow regardless. We made it back to the table. Another 15 minutes before anyone came by to offer water or take drink orders. At that point, we looked at the limited snack menu, decided dinner was happening elsewhere, and let the host know we were leaving. The one server who did eventually stop by apologized and volunteered that the bar was just slow to get drinks out. At least someone said it out loud. The number of empty tables confirmed that plenty of other people had already figured this out on their own. The setting here is genuinely good. The views are real, the space is well-designed, and there's no reason this shouldn't work. But the service infrastructure clearly can't support even a moderately sized group on a slow night, which is a significant problem for a place marketing itself as an events and reservations venue. You can't charge Navy Yard prices and run a bar that moves at this pace. Wouldn't go back unless something has visibly changed.

We ordered wings, egg-rolls, and a quesadilla. The wings came out first. The hot honey is just ok, not really hot. The egg rolls came out next and they were pretty good. The quesadilla took forever... we assume they probably forgot it. It was poorly put together and did not come with sour cream or pico as advertised. When I went to order another drink I was told happy hour was over at 8. The menu states 9:30p. At that point we were over it. The menu also states they don't split checks and they have politely tipped themselves 20%... they did at least allow the two of us to split.
