We love this place!! This is a must to place to eat if staying in or driving through Nederland. We started off with smoked wings and the buffalo sauce was yummy. I ordered the homemade kombucha, so good! We ordered a variety of food, all was yummy. Our server's attention was 100% on us while he was talking to us. If it takes a minute to get someone to your table, be patient because once they get to you, he takes all the time needed to make sure you are taken care of. We never felt rushed. We were still working on our order and our appetizer arrived lol Get the Mac n cheese! The mashed potatoes are super garlicky. If you like garlic, it's worth it. The beans were so good! Wait staff were kind and hard working, this review is not about any person who works there it is more a reflection on how the operation is run. This is a QR code ordering menu, which in theory would be a good idea however it took 5x as long to get our order in since it was the first time setting it up. The happy hour menu was not easy to find which we had to find someone to ask about and it seems like we weren't the only ones to have that problem. Also, there were very few actual BBQ items on the menu, if you don't have a burnt ends appetizer or meal are you really a BBQ restaurant? Water was warm and cups didn't come with ice. No option to leave a note in the order for any modifications needed. I will say on a positive note it was good portions of food and was decently tasty so if you can get over the ordering process and lack of help (not the waiters faults) it might be for you, just not for us. read more

My wife and I, and our dog (Queso) had a great visit to Busey Brews. Key points for us: 1) they allow dogs on the front patio, and some tables behind the building. You do have to order using your phone and a bar code, but they bring the food and drinks to you, and can help with anything you need. 2) the beer was really solid. I had the Hazy IPA (or a couple/few of them). And 3) the Food was really good. They focus on BBQ and it was solid. I had the smoked wings with Bourbon bacon sauce. We stopped through Busey Brews for lunch after a morning of skiing at Eldora. The weather was decent so we took advantage of sitting on the back patio. Solid beer selection (bottles and draft) and friendly staff. Hungry for a hearty meal after skiing all morning, we ordered the brisket royale with a side of mac and cheese. That being said, I didn't feel like there were many less hearty or vegetarian options on the menu. Our food arrived and it was indeed hearty! The bread was crispy and fresh and the meat was well seasoned with sauce and veggies. I would have liked to see the brisket a little more soft and moist. I was not at all impressed with the mac and cheese which seemed to be buttered pasta with cheese on top. The BBQ sauce was AWESOME- thick and flavorful. Went here after the recommendation of a safety patroller at Eldora raved about their wings. To say the least, I was not disappointed. The place is super cool, and has that down to earth CO feeling, with an excellent selection of great house brewed craft beers. They have ample seating, multiple levels of a really cool building, but the headliner here is the barbecue. I've been to the heart of Texas, in the mountains of North Carolina, and all over the Midwest and Kansas and this place by far had the best brisket I've ever had and true to the recommendation the dry rub wings were incredible! Incredible spot. Came from Denver for a little day trip and noticed this was the only brewery with food open on a Monday and wow am I glad. Beer and beer prices: 11/10 (the Vienna, kolsch and double ipa that was brewed with local honey were the winners. That double ipa could convert an IPA hater. Unreal.) Food: 9.5/10. The prime rib was one of the best sandwiches I've had in a while. The bread held the integrity of the sandwich despite it being so juicy and cheesy. Flavor was beyond on point. Now for the red chili, incredible bean to tomato to brisket ratio. Big chunks of brisket were present. Super good. Only knocking a point down for the green chili cause it was pretty good but not great in comparison to the other two. Service: very friendly. Tall brown haired man who was running food and drinks was very personable and friendly. Overall, highly recommend this spot. Hit all the marks for me and everything was very reasonably priced. OK. When you read "the best wings ever," you roll your eyes. We bit and tried them. The bourbon bacon wings...MIGHT...be the best I have ever had. Seriously. Worth the trip. Leroy was a great bartender, good vibe overall, they were playing best guitarists ever channel for tunes, and the Everybody Loves Rye-mond was a fantastic IPA. This is one of the best bars I've been to. First off, the commander cow is the best milk stout I've ever had - not too sweet but. I've whiskey flavor. We ordered two extra bottles to go since we live out of state. Second, the food is much better than we expected. I had the tofu sandwich (I'm vegetarian), which was heavy for me but had excellent flavor. Good Cole slaw and cheddar soup as well. Went on a little drive and ended up in this little town. Was looking for something for lunch and decided to try this smokehouse / brewery. Busey Brews is a cool little place located in a neat little town in the mountains about 30 min from Boulder. All of the meat is smoked daily and the beer is brewed on-site. The burnt end sandwich was really good, full of flavor. The peppers and onions made it! The Mac & Cheese was ok, I like a little more cheese. The prime rib was good but I'm not usually a fan. My girlfriend really liked the sandwich. The garlic mashed potatoes were great, lots of garlic. The service was great. People stopped to check on us often and made sure we didn't need anything. The server was happy to give recommendations. I'd highly recommend giving Busey Brews a try if you're in the area. I hope to revisit the town and I would definitely eat at Busey again. read more

Not a lot of places are open in Nederland past 8 pm on Fridays so we decided to try Busey Brew (mainly because they have a nice outdoor space) to have a drink and some food. We didn't have high expectations but it was a bit of a disappointment as they were out of basically everything (beer, food) and for some reason our paper menus didn't match what our server had in his app so he couldn't order a lot of things. I also think a place that has "brews" in their name should have more choices for appetizers and finger food but, as you can see, the selection is very poor. Nachos were of a very poor quality with some nacho cheese and shredded cheese that wasn't even melted (I know it's a thing for some places like sports venues but I don't know a single person who would like that at a sit down place). Their beet salad was edible because I was pretty hungry but it was basically a few pieces of greens, cheese (not a fan) and some beets (could elevate it so much just by grilling or baking beets but they were definitely boiled), dressing was super basic and with no flavor at all. Great food, good beer, but TERRIBLE (lack of) service! 20 minutes of struggling before I could even get a beer! I've enjoyed previous visits here, so this time I came to experience the long-awaited new patio room overlooking the creek! Great food, good brews (though even the Pilsner was a bit over-hopped). I enjoyed a very good Prime Rib Dip sandwich with great au jus. The pork green chili "soup" is also excellent. Sadly, the new enclosed patio extension was a disappointment. Nice views, but seating was very reminiscent of crowed large-airport eat-'n-run bars & stools. If you are heading up to the mountains to get away from the hectic crowded city life, this is not the place. HOWEVER, the menu ordering process is the worst I have ever experienced! The required covid-style QR code ordering system requires you to have and use your cell phone for ordering. This, in turn, requires you to MANUALLY and tediously enter all your credit card information BEFORE ORDERING, something that modern credit card scanners available at most restaurants do much more quickly, accurately and easily than having the customer tediously type in all the information, only to get a non-specific error! Isn't that what all the magnetic strips and chip-readers are intended to simplify? Something that most restaurant wait-staff are readily equipped to do? When I complained, the server said that she could do it, but then she'd have to actually scan my card. Rather than put her through all that trouble, and since I'd already spent so much of my own leisure time entering in my order information, I continued the tedious process on my cell phone. When the server brought me my finally-ordered beer, she commented about the beer being my reward for all my hard work ordering! Sigh, thank you very much for my "reward!" And the audacity of charging a default 20% tip for doing half the work myself only added to the insult! So, if you want a good beer and some good food in the mountains, you can get it here. But don't expect to escape the impersonal "service" and shoulder-to-shoulder fast-food crowding. read more

My friend had some dark, coffee chocolatey beer that was so good too... probably had a great name that I've forgotten. This is during covid so..my perception of that was it wasn't great. We were sat inside less than six feet from another table, shared menu, shared barbecue sauce, just didn't feel great. The servers were all wearing masks so that was good. Anyhow the food, I ordered a barbecue platter with brisket and a hot link. You get two (!) Sides so I got green chili and coleslaw. So the green chili...I'm told it's made in house and it really tastes like it. I've lived in Colorado for just over a year and this was by far the best I've had. Lots of pork and hot peppers...it was so so good! The brisket was crispy, black on the outside and tender flavorful in the inside. Perfect! And there was a huge pile of it too! The hot link was HOT and also delicious. Tasted great with the coleslaw.which helped tame it for me. Super cute place, good service, great food/beer. Wonderful people, amazing meal, and an all around a necessary stop if you're in the area! Despite how late in the evening (around closing) my group came in the evening, the host was super kind and let us sit outside and order food. And order food we did!! Ribs, pulled pork, sides galore, and BBQ TOFU FOR a mostly vegetarian like me, all for super reasonable prices! I had the Veggie Royale: charred, deeply grilled tofu and veg doused in sauce on a roll. YUM. Our server was ready with takeout boxes, but we demolished the meal so no need. Oh dear Busey Brews you've made the end to my Colorado trip absolutely perfect. Side-wise would highly recommend the corn bread and garlic mashers. The mac and cheese was gooey and good, but not stand out in my opinion. My group also had the nashville hot chicken. It was spicy, but not too hot and sopped up with chewy white bread. Great, outstanding service and staff! Let's say this upfront because there is no mistake about it. The outside patio is wonderful. I can't tell you how many times I've seen it from the road but plans even quite made it over here. Now, I had my chance to see how good this place really was and if the food was as good as the view or as cool as the patio. The ribs caught my eye, the waiter then recommended it, so it was a no brainer. The ribs were probably some of the best I've had. Just how perfectly they were cooked, how much meat were on the bones, they'd be hard to beat anywhere. Juiciness was key! As a side note: all three sauces were fantastic. Sometimes I struggle to find even one I like and here I was conflicted on which one I wanted to use most. The bummer part were the sides. I felt both were mediocre - the pork green chile and the mac and cheese. The former lacked flavor, the latter was dry and blah. I did ask for a few samples of their beer - Cerveza mi Face-ah, Groomer IPA and Hambone IPA. I will say that all three were absolutely fantastic beers and it caught be off guard as I was hoping that at least one was decent. It's great to know this place serves such good beer. I'm happy I decided to go with one because I would have really missed out if I hadn't. read more

There is absolutely no reason you need to put that much pepper on anything . If someone wants to put that much pepper on something and let them do it after the fact when the food is on their table I'm sure there's plenty of people out there they like pepper, but there are some of us who absolutely can't stand it. not everything has to be spicy hot either. I understand that restaurants make things spicy to get people to buy more beer and other beverages to enhance revenue. The brisket and the pork were excellent. Stopped here after a hike for some beer and appetizers. The outside patio is nice. It took 45 minutes to get an order of nachos and the place was not busy at all. The nachos were nothing to write home about. Plain chips covered in a little bit of queso and unmelted cheddar cheese sprinkled on top??? We added chicken for an extra charge and there were about six small chunks of chicken on the entire order. $38 for 2 beers and an order of nachos. The staff is nice.
