I've been to bushfire twice now. The first time I visited, I ordered their grass hamburger. It was very juicy and made fresh. The second time I went, I ordered the steak bowl with brown rice and veggies. I was a little disappointed in this dish because I felt like it didn't have much flavor to it. The steak wasn't as flavorful as I had hoped and the veggies needed a little spice or something. But I would definitely come back because I really like the hamburger and both times the parties I was with order the chicken sandwich and they both said it was delicious so I definitely want to try that next time. It's a very clean restaurant and has a very nice atmosphere. They're seating inside and outside. Bathrooms were nice and clean. Recently opened in Cypress, Bushfire Kitchen is a nice fast casual spot for getting food that feels both healthy and like you're getting a meal at a sit down restaurant. I got their sustainable Salmon Plate. The salmon is grilled and topped with sun dried tomatoes, capers, and parsley. The salmon was cooked just right, moist and flakey. I also tried some of the Peri Peri Chicken. This comes with peri peri sauce, but it's tasty and not spicy! All of their plates come with two sides and their house-baked focaccia with scallion sauce. Between the two plates, I got to sample the Roasted Brussel Sprouts, Grandma's Mac and Cheese, Miso Glazed Broccoli (seasonal), and French Fries. Plus we ordered an extra side of Garlic Mashed Potatoes because it just sounded so good! So nice and creamy--would definitely get these again! I also enjoyed the Mac and Cheese which is baked, so the cheese is not too runny, which I enjoyed! Wish they would keep the broccoli side around, but in the meantime, I'll be getting the Brussel Sprouts! We also had the Quinoa and Power Greens Salad. It has quinoa, black rice, arugula, baby kale, baby spinach, roasted beets, local avocado, chickpeas, orange segments, and a house made soy and orange vinaigrette. It had a good mix of ingredients, and the dressing was tasty. Lastly, I was surprised to see that they have empanadas! I love empanadas, so we decided to try all three. They have a Chicken Empanada, Beef Empanada, and a Veggie Empanada. They also have a seasonal empanada--this time was Peaches and Cream. Out of the empanadas, the chicken and veggie were my favorites. The chicken has basil pesto, sun dried tomato, red onion, peas, and feta cheese. The veggie has a colorful mix of spinach, roasted corn, bell peppers, potato, cilantro, onions, and pepper-jack cheese. Empanadas are served with a delicious housemade chimichurri sauce! I was disappointed for several reasons. - The spinach and strawberry salad had wilted, old strawberries and watery poppy seed dressing - They put the goat cheese in a clump on top, then set the protein on it, so the cheese melted onto the bottom of the protein. - The "Korean" cauliflower side with the peri peri chicken was too salty to be eaten. It was terribly overcooked and very soft - hard to recognize it as the vegetable - Grandma overcooked her noodles in the mac and cheese and it looks like the cheese sauce split, leaving clumps - The person at the register put 2 peach empanadas in a bag, DROPPED the bag on the floor then handed it to me. Another Bushfire Kitchen in the OC! I've been to the Brea location so many times so I'm glad we have a new location in Orange County! There's not a dish I've had here that I didn't love. But honestly, the main favorite out of everything was the gaucho steak sandwich! That with the sweet potato fries was absolutely delicious! Decided to come here because we heard great things about this place. We stopped by for an early dinner. I got the chicken bowl, you pick your base, and a topping. I went with veggies for the base it's a. Extra $2.50 and all the other toppings is extra cost except for the veggies so I went with double veggies. The chicken is very tasty and moist. Good seasoning, it does come with a side of teriyaki sauce. Service is great, the staff member was helpful and knowledgeable. I ordered 2 empanadas (beef) they were luke warm very bland, thank goodness for the chimichurri that was flavorful. But then I couldn't taste empanada. My husband ordered the a fish plate with a side of veggies same thing very bland. The veggies were good. Service was also good. The ambience was great very clean. We were in the area and had to stop by for lunch at this newly opened location! Ordered at the counter; the staff were so upbeat and helpful, telling us the current specials and giving recommendations. They brought our melas to the table after a brief wait. Everything we tried was outstanding. The beef was cooked nicely and seasoned, the veggies still a little crisp. Hubby tried the Korean cauliflower for the first time and was pleasantly surprised. Just a little kick to it. The chimichurri sauce is so yummy, I could put that on everything. One of the staff that stopped by to check on our table gave me another little portion of it to take home. I could eat any entire pan of the focaccia bread!!! So good. The En Fuego burger was delicious but not as hot and spicy as we expected. Hello Fellow Yelpers This restaurant just opened up and thought we give it a try. Well my burger came out luke warm, very greasy and had a piece of paper in it. I just returned it for a refund. Sweet potato fries were okay. Tri-tip BBQ sandwich was a bit dry, not enough sauce Pomegranate lemonade is tart. But some people like that. A fun new place to try! When I reached the front of the line I was greeted and given a few recommendations. I ordered the gaucho steak sandwich with some fries. I also added a peaches and cream empanada as a treat. The fries were really good. Totally recommend. The sandwich was good but I'd try and sub a few things next time for my preference. I felt like the bread was too thick for the toppings. I took off half the ciabatta and it was better. The steak was great! I also enjoyed the empanada. There is a new corner spot on the Boardwalk in Cypress. Plenty of indoor and outdoor tables. Bushfire offers a variety of fresh salads, bowls, plates and sandwiches. Everything is locally sourced. Prices are reasonable from $13.00- $20.00 for most things. The real winner was the chicken empanada with house made chimichurri sauce. At $4.95 a pop they are well worth it. Order everything at the counter and take your number to the table and staff will deliver to you. We ordered the California Burger with Grandmas Mac and cheese. As well as the steak sandwich with roasted Brussells. Everything was very good. The mac and cheese was very cheesy and topped with bread crumbs. The brussels were just okay. They were baked/roasted and I wish they were roasted a little longer. They have self serve Bushfire soda and housemade lemonade. The lemonade is very sweet. Staff is very friendly and are being trained well. They kept on checking on everyone and refilling drinks. I hope they make it here in Cypress. read more

This new location is at the Boardwalk plaza in Cypress. I was able to attend the Bushfire pre-tasting event prior to their grand opening. They provided a choice of complimentary bowls, sandwiches, burger, and salad. They also gave a free side ad well. Their other menus on the menu was for purchase. I tried their Thai curry bowl with jasmine rice and veggies. The bowl was very flavorful. Once it was mixed, the rice portion was a bit overpowering and I had to dig for the chicken and veggies. The California burger was delicious. I really enjoyed their garlic aioli. The default is meat cooked medium but you can ask for it to be more cooked. The brussel sprout side was good, but I was expecting it to be crispy. Their raspberry lychee lemonade was a punch of flavor and refreshing. They have a lot of their menu as well as sweet treats. They have daily happy hour from 2-5pm. There are plenty of tables indoors and outdoors. There's a restroom in the back. I didn't see a single trash can inside the restaurant though. The service for the pre-grand opening tasting was great and everyone was attentive and check in on how the food is. This spot is close to my work and so I'll definitely be coming here with my coworkers. read more

My 2nd time to Bushfire (different locations each time). Ordered their summer special salad which came with grilled chicken. Quality is high but the portion size was disappointing (about the size of a side salad, perhaps a bit bigger). Even the bread was extra (1.50) for a small piece of foccacia. I came here expecting a good happy hour deal, but left totally frustrated. First off, calling their food specials a "Happy Hour" is wildly misleading--the fries actually cost more than their standard menu items, and you end up paying nearly $10 for a tiny, small bag. To make matters worse, the service was a mess. The place was practically empty with only one other table, yet it took 15 minutes to get our food. The empanadas were already premade and sitting in the display, so there was no reason for the delay. Also, there seem to be more staffs than there are customers. When our food was finally handed to us, one of the employee asked if we got our empanadas while we were visibly standing there waiting for our food. She then proceeded to stack the empanadas right on top of the fries, squishing them. Bad pricing, slow service for premade food, and sloppy packaging. Staff needs serious retraining. *edit* after tasting the food Oh btw, the $10 fries that they took 15 mins to make were soggy and gross. The empanadas however, were okay. The chicken empanada was more on the dry side. The beef one, there was nothing significant about it. The veggies one would be the best one out of the three. However with the sauce, was really good. Food: Honestly it's pretty good! My son likes his brisket sandwich, my daughter liked her chicken pesto sandwich, and my chimi-churi steak was done proper and seasoned decently. Is it home cooked meal level of spice and flavor? TLDR; Had high hopes for this place but left disappointed. I was really hoping the food would be like a Mendocino or Urban Plates but most of the items were lackluster. The beef didn't have much flavor. - White wine sangria. Very sweet, would skip if you're not able to handle sugary drinks. - Tri tip chimichurri plate. Not sure if it was a one off on the cook of our Tri tip but it was very very dry, chewy and bland. Look at the photo they advertised versus what came out. - Tuscan chicken sandwich which was probably the best item we tried. No complaints! I understand the concept but it fell flat for me. My girlfriend and I decided to try Bushfire Kitchen's new Cypress location since it's close to home, and we were excited to have another dining option in the area. Unfortunately, the experience was a bit mixed. First, our order was missing the Peaches & Cream Empanada entirely. We called the restaurant, and while they did offer a refund, it's still disappointing when part of the order is forgotten and its a nee item that we were excited about. Especially for a brand-new restaurant that's trying to make a first impression. Starting with the positives, both the Chicken Empanada and Beef Empanada were very good. They came with a fresh chimichurri sauce that paired perfectly with them. The chicken was my favorite of the two, but both were flavorful and well-executed. I'd rate them both around an 8/10. The Umami Parmesan Fries had great flavor and quality ingredients, but they lacked any crispness. It's possible they would have been better eaten immediately in the restaurant, but as served, the texture took away from what otherwise could have been a standout side. The biggest disappointment was the Tokyo Chicken Sandwich. The flavors were there, but the sandwich contained only about half of a chicken breast and was put together sloppy. The photos and description online show a full chicken breast sandwich, so what we received felt noticeably smaller than expected and didn't match the advertised presentation. What makes this review difficult is that the food itself showed a lot of promise. There were some genuinely good flavors throughout the meal, and it's easy to see the potential. However, missing items, inconsistent execution, and portion discrepancies are the kinds of quality-control issues that can leave a lasting impression. We live nearby and would genuinely like to support this location. If they can tighten up the details and improve consistency, I could absolutely see us becoming regular customers. Called in my order amd it was ready by the time I got there. Mac n cheese has some spice level to it. I was confused because it says cheddar but definitely medium spice level. The bbq tri tip sandwich is good, the meat was overcooked but wasnt dry, so it was good. Beef empanada was good, not great. A little dry. I received an email that said everyone would get a free empanada. I was very excited!! However I only received a free one because when I dialed the wheel it landed on it. I also ordered the butternut squash side dish. I thought the squash would be mashed but it was in cubes. Not all pieces were soft. That was disappointing. The empanada was really good. I love this place. Ordered the El Fuego burger. It had it all: heat, flavor, and was super juicy. The thick cut fries were crispy on the outside and soft on the inside and stayed hot for a long time. Stopped in for lunch at this little spot in a strip mall around the corner from my house. It's not brand new, but it hasn't been there for very long so we decided to give it a try. I had the barbecue tri-tip sandwich that normally Came on a ciabatta bun, but I decided to switch that out for a brioche, my niece had the American Burger and I have to say both of these were really good. Their barbecue sauce is really tasty. I have to say not only was the food really good but what kind of gave it a four-star was the people that work there, they were so nice, always checking on you and making sure that you're enjoying yourself. The place is small, but there is outside seating and plenty of parking. I do normally take pictures, but I was just too hungry so you'll have to go see for yourself read more

Service was great, kind and helpful cashier. They have a liquor license so the table of 6 girls drinking and talking so loud ruined our visit. The music was loud and the atmosphere just annoying. I had a burger which was absolutely the worst burger I have ever had the bun was extremely dry and cold the only thing that was hot was the patty which was raw on one side. Had high hopes, the marketing seems to be trying to position themselves as an Urban Plates alternative. My wife got the tri tip bowl. The meat was gray and very very chewy. She said the white rice was good. But overall not a good experience. I got the Tri-Tip BBQ sandwhich. It was fine. Little dry. As other users have pointed out the Mac and cheese is spicy for some reason. My wife did not care for that. I thought it was fine. Not the best Mac and cheese I've ever had but not the worst either.
