Worst place ever! 17.00 for this and a drink plus an extra side. Dried up and barely warm. Terrible Service from The girl attending the drive ups.

Too high to do his job

Trash. The drive thru guy was too barred out to do his job and was skipping people in the drive.

Worth the wait? We'll see later.

I went there for their baked chicken but they ran out for the day. I was starving so I just went for the 2-piece fried chicken combo. It's good, and since I'm really hungry I devoured the two pieces of chicken, was planning to put away the other piece for lunch the next day but ended up eating it all up. It's not bad, what I love are the corn nuggets, not salty, not greasy and still crunchy when I arrived home. Will try again next time to get the baked chicken which I love. I only go here for their baked chicken.

Decided to check this spot out after my Friend Dallas mentioned this is his go to spot every time he comes to San Antonio. Chicken was cooked very nicely . Flavor was there . Sweet tea was busting busting in a good way . Re filled my cup before we left . The Mac and cheese was a little watery for me. The only thing I didn't like was the how long it took to prepare my food. This is supposed to be fast food chicken spot . And it's not that we where waiting on fresh chicken to be made . But the finding of the sides and condiments which took forever . Parking lot is pretty big . I'm down for another try. Prices are fair .

Two piece meal! Just $5 or something...

Health risk warning!!…read more I visited this Potbelly's location and was very disappointed with their food handling practices. While preparing my sandwich, I watched the employee place ham directly on the scale without wiping it down, using parchment, or putting down any kind of barrier. When I asked if they could place something underneath the meat before weighing it, the response was simply that they "sanitize it." The scale clearly wasn't clean. I could still see leftover meat on it and given that this location serves chicken, turkey, roast beef, pork, and more, cross-contamination should be a major concern. Customers should never have to point out that a dirty scale needs to be wiped before food is placed on it. What makes this even more frustrating is that I've experienced this same issue at other Potbelly's locations. I drove farther out to this store specifically hoping it would be different, but unfortunately the same unsanitary practice was happening here as well. Food safety should always come first, and this experience left me questioning whether proper sanitary practices are being followed across the chain.

These are all features of this location. The Wreck is my favorite because it's a hearty take on an Italian sub. It's just zesty and meaty enough, especially when the toasting heats it all up together. Staff here is friendly and builds a good sandwich. The interior is actually kind of nice even when busy. The faux rustic vibe is nice break from the busy outside shopping center. Parking is super easy, but again, it can get busy. Lunch here wasn't super busy when I went but it does take a little long to build these sandwiches so plan ahead.

I ordered a double patty smashburger, with jalapeños, wrapped in lettuce - and let me tell you: it was very satisfying. Could I have had more? Yes. Should I have? No. So I didn't. Their fries are good, too, but they're not the main attraction here. One kid tried the chicken nuggets and wasn't a fan, so maybe there's room for improvement (or maybe she's just very particular about her chicken nuggets). She ended up with a cheeseburger and was very content. We're looking forward to coming back!

Recommend: Not for Me…read more I was really looking forward to trying this place since it has so many great reviews. Unfortunately, I may be the outlier here. Let me start with the positives. The service was wonderful from start to finish. Everyone was friendly, attentive, and seemed to genuinely care about keeping the restaurant clean and welcoming. The dining area was well maintained, and although parking is limited in the front, there is additional parking available in the back. I visited on a Saturday afternoon when it wasn't particularly busy, but the food took a little longer to come out than I expected. It wasn't a huge issue, just something I noticed. I ordered the ZOJAH Smash with Fries ($14.99), which comes with a smashed Certified Angus beef patty, cheese, onions, pickles, ZOJAH sauce, and crinkle-cut fries. The burger itself was fine, but I didn't find anything especially memorable about it. The ZOJAH sauce tasted similar to Thousand Island dressing or the sauce used at In-N-Out. The bun was very soft, and the pickles added a nice crunch, but overall the burger felt a little lacking in flavor, even with the generous amount of sauce. The standout item for me was definitely the fries. They were crispy, fresh, and easily the best part of the meal. I also ordered a regular fountain drink. The restaurant had music playing during my visit, which helped create a lively atmosphere, but it was a bit louder than I would have preferred and made it harder to have a quiet conversation. At the end of the day, the food just didn't live up to the hype for me. While I can appreciate the friendly service, clean environment, and excellent fries, I personally would choose a Five Guys burger over this one. That said, plenty of other people seem to enjoy it, so your experience may be different..

In the only minute more I had to wait for my food I observed Gus kindly explaining the menu to a middle eastern family with a partial language barrier. Gus didn't even miss a beat, cheerfully and carefully answering their questions with the same attentiveness he offered me. 5 STARS, give Gus a raise! The ambience is clean, spread out, and slightly dimmed towards the back, but it gives a nice welcoming vibe. They have a really good hip-hop and R&B playlist, which gives a fun experience. The service is excellent, everyone beginning to end was super nice and helpful. Our server did a great job at explaining the menu and what to expect. We got the original fried chicken, which is basically a chicken cut up into pieces so you get a little bit of everything of a whole chicken. This recipe is still crispy, we got the honey soy sauce on the side, and that sauce is amazing! We ended up ordering more. We also got the crispy wings, those are double fried and definitely have lots of crisp! Every piece was hot and fresh, very juicy and a perfect seasoning. We also ordered some fries that had a powdered cheese on them and the guy did let us know it was a sweet cheese, but I was definitely not expecting that much sweet. Honestly they were not my favorite, it's very strange to have a sweet powdered cheese on french fries. I was not a fan, but my husband liked them. And lastly, is the slaw and the pickled radish that they bring out, I liked those very much and they gave a perfect balance and touch of acid against the wings and the richness of the sauce. The location isn't something you immediately see off the road, it's right in the corner of a strip mall off of De Zavala. Definitely worth the trip, these wings and this chicken were 10 out of 10!
