My favorite burger spot and it always impresses me. I've been going here for about 3 years on and off. I've had great overall experiences and 1 bad experience turned good. First always bring cash. Cash only spot. Prices are affordable for your common person. The price listed includes tax in it. So if you order the double cheeseburger, fries and drink it'll be $11 on the dot. There will always be a wait. Because it's so good all the locals like myself will wait. Typical wait varies between 30-45 minutes. The location is a hole in the wall spot with about 8-10 people max seating. Two picnic tables outside. Now the bad experience turned good. One time the guy misplaced my order. I noticed 3-4 people who ordered after me got their order. Guy apologized when I brought it up to him. Meal was on the house, refunded my money and gave me a card for a free meal. Read so many good reviews about Buster's so i had to stop in. There hours are unconventional as they close at 2pm on a Thursday. I got in just before they were closing and the guy took my order. Got a double combo with fries and a drink for 10 bucks tax included. The burger was huge and the beef patties were melt in your mouth. The burger came with cheese and ketchup. Nothing else. The fries were handcut, nicely fried but nothing to write home about. Overall the burger was good and pretty big. I believe each patties are 1/3 lbs. Not sure why anybody would goto a fast food joint when you have such a wonderful burger spot for cheaper than a mcdonald's meal. The building is kind of old and the inside is showing signs of wear but sometimes those are the spots were you find a hidden gem like this one. Good food and friendly people! read more

Every once in awhile I crave a really good burger and Buster's always hits the spot. Hubs usually grabs me takeout and bring it to me for lunch while I'm working. I already enjoyed it as to go... but I finally got to try it FRESH and it was even better. When it's busy (and it usually is) they warn you when you order that it could take 30-40 minutes. It's small inside, so no big deal.... you can wait outside or in your car and come back in when it's closer to the time they tell you. I've been waiting a long time to try this burger. Because of heart disease I only eat unhealthy once a week. I was in town yesterday and knew I had to finally try Buster's and it DID NOT DISSAPOINT! Wow, what a great old fashioned burger at a great price! Single w/mustard, pickle, grilled onions, and tater tots. All for about $6.50 I've done other burger reviews and between Ty's Diner and Buster's it's hard to say which is better but both are at the top of my list and I've tried many places now. I have been going to Busters for a few years because of my wife and daughter who turned me on to this joint, but I certainly was not the first customer 21 years ago when he opened in 2001. I love to get the double with cheese and all the toppings. Great greasy burger if you like cheeseburgers and the fries are fresh and crispy with your choice of can pop! A&W is my fav...sometimes a Dew. They have all sizes of burgers for everyone's appetite...including the new record holder in 2021 eating 3 quads with fries where each quad (which is off menu) is 1.3333 pounds of beef and 2 pieces of cheese per patty totaling 8 pieces of cheese per quad. You can do the math on the balance of what the record holder ate, but if you don't want to challenge the record holder just drop in for a good and juicy burger...give the onion rings a try! read more

This place is a little hidden gem. It's tucked away in not the most desirable location of the city but that shouldn't turn you away from the food. Outside reads a sign "it ain't healthy but it sure tastes good" and there couldn't be a more accurate way to describe this joint. DELICIOUS! We finally made it to this place while it's open! It was SO worth it! My living room is bigger than this place. There are no tables to speak of, just long boards with chairs. A trellis fence separates the grill from your seat. I'd guess 8x10 room maybe. Who cares? The burgers are so outstanding, I ordered a triple with cheese and "everything". Everything means tomato, onion, pickle and mustard. Otherwise, you specify what you want. I wanted tater tots. Hubby got fries. Onion rings are a dollar extra. Buster fries the tater tots crunchy, the way I like them! Drinks are in cans on a shelf against the wall. There is a good variety. Ice and Styrofoam cups are on a counter. We selected a can and seated ourselves at the last few spots left on the board. The burger is super delicious without grease dripping off very much, as the wax paper wrapped around it saves your clothes if you eat with two hands. It was a sumptuous, delectable, artery-clogging treat in a tiny dive, worth going into. While we were busily chomping away, a guy asked for half fries, half tater tots. He was given an emphatic NO! Out of curiosity, the guy by the door inquired if he could have 1/3 fries, tots and onion rings. Buster told him he could leave now. We all laughed. Buster and his wife are affable, cheery and fun. We were searching for a place to eat in the same general area of town and this place popped up. We drove over and you could tell it was our kind of place. As other reviews have noted it is a hole-in-the-wall kind of place but when it comes to food that is a compliment. The service was very friendly and I was impressed at how quickly two people produced food for the steady stream of customers. "Cash only" I've found to be secret code for the best combination of sketchy geographic location, no-nonsense interior and the best damn food you'll ever taste ... at least for the price. This holds true for donuts, dogs, ice cream, fish, tacos, etc.. in this case, it's burgers and tots. If you're at an ATM, get some cash and head to Buster's. The neighborhood burger dive is nearly a cliché at this point. In a small building that would be considered low-rent to anyone other than Jack's Coffee Shop, there's just enough room for a couple rows of tables, a broken cooler full of soda, and the burger-making operations in the back. The burgers are dirt cheap and the meat is plentiful. The meat isn't the greatest quality, and lacked a bit of seasoning when paired with the slice of cheese that sat between the two buns. While many in this town are content to let their burgers wallow in their greasy, ultimately causing me to ingest it, Buster's has the decency to wrap the burger in wax paper, wicking away some of the fat, though that piece of paper was at its limit by the time I finished eating. Fries were homemade, and in an attempt to get them crispy, they were cut thinner than average and fried extra long. It was probably a little too long, in the end, and the objective wasn't accomplished. The charm of these small burger restaurants is in their personality and intimacy - everyone knows each other, and they would probably all tell you that Buster's makes the finest burger in Wichita. Just like the patrons of TJ's, Ty's, Bomber Burger, and Sport Burger would tell you the same. For a nomad like me who's out to try every restaurant in the city, it's more of the same, though that's not to discount that - at the end of the day - Buster's makes a pretty good buger.
