So happy we snagged a late reservation after a long day. Our server, I believe her name was Danny? (it was very loud) was great. She offered great recommendations on drinks, appetizers and entrees and checked on us frequently. The space is not large but intimate with the bar separated. Definitely need to make reservations and I'm not sure it's a place for parties bigger than 6. I'm also not sure why they chose not to make the dining area in the front with the bar in the middle and kitchen in the back for light, better sight lines and street views (think One Eleven Main). Downtown Havre de Grace is beautiful and it sits in a historic building so it seems like a miss. We went at night so the dining room was dark but had a great vibe but felt small and closed in with the separation. It was also surprisingly loud. I've never been in an enclosed space without high ceilings as loud. We had the catfish appetizer which was cooked well but was missing seasoning, a sprinkle of Old Bay and different sauce would have been perfect. My husband had the ribeye which had an amazing sear and was cooked perfectly and I had the short rib which looked like it was made for Fred Flintstone. It was equally as tasty. We finished with the assorted mini cakes which were tasty but we, along with the table next to us, couldn't help but laugh at the potion compared to the gigantic short rib I had previously. It would have been better named assorted cake-bites. Being a Geresbecks regular who drives from Harford County for their baked goods, that was the only miss for me of the night. Butcher on the Bay is priced comparably to restaurants with similar menus and quality. It's a great date night spot and we'll definitely be back.

    So pretty at night!!!

We also had the crabcakes (delicious and huge), Caesar salad (one of the best I've had), broccolini (meh), potato croquettes (good), and beef carpaccio (very good).

The host was very friendly and got us seated quickly. However, our table had just been wiped down and was still soaking wet. The paper kids' menu immediately became damp, and the regular menus were sticking to the table. Our server, Kirsten, greeted us and brought over water, but then realized our table hadn't even been set with cups. Once our food arrived, we barely saw her again. She never came back to check on our meal or ask if we needed anything. We were celebrating a birthday, and while we watched several other tables receive birthday celebrations from the staff, ours was never acknowledged despite noting it when we checked in. After we finished eating, we waited quite a while before finally flagging down another server just to ask for our check. When Kirsten came over, she simply asked, "Yes?" We requested the check, and that was the extent of the interaction. We had also ordered food to go. It was brought out shortly after our meals instead of at the end of our visit, with no bag or utensils. We had to stop another employee to ask for utensils before leaving. One other thing I noticed was that tables weren't being cleared very quickly. Several empty tables around us sat with dirty dishes for quite a while, making the dining room look a bit unkempt. The food itself was fine, but nothing particularly memorable. Unfortunately, the lack of attentiveness throughout the meal overshadowed the experience. With better service and a little more attention to the dining room, this could have been a much more enjoyable meal.

I was pleasantly surprised with everything I tried from the wings which were a great size and packed with flavor, to the burgers and the "fancy" mac and cheese. I definitely recommend it if you want a more "adult" meal while at GWL. They also take reservations through the app.

He was extremely knowledgeable about the menu and gave us great recommendations. We started with the mozzarella sticks -- hands down the best we've ever had! My husband loved the cowboy steak, and by Nick's suggestion I ordered the fish and chips but swapped the fries for steamed broccoli. I told Nick I'm not a fan of fish that's heavily battered and soaked in oil like a sponge. He reassured me I'd love theirs because it's large pieces of fish with a light batter -- and he was absolutely right. I also asked for the hottest sauce they had, and instead of just bringing something standard, Nick went to the kitchen and had a fresh jalapeño-based sauce made. It was incredible. In fact I took the rest home as it was made specially for me! Nick clearly takes pride in what he does and in the restaurant, which is something you don't see often anymore. That level of dedication made the whole experience even better. We'll definitely be back. Nick: thank you soooo much! See you soon!

We had a large party and we were seated right away. Our server was lovely!! Super attentive and friendly. Always checking on drinks, etc. They were able to separate bills with the Toast machine which is beyond helpful! No apps were ordered. We didn't get any drinks from the bar other. They do being those amazing rolls that are pillows of happiness with then incredible whipped butter. So good! We did order (only including 2 from my party within the bigger group) two ribeyes that came with two sides. We both got salads and steamed broccoli. Salads were good and nice portion. Broccoli was steamed perfectly with nice snap and not soggy at all. The steaks were meh... very very thin! Not a typical ribeye. One was very fatty. However, we also only paid roughly $30 so it was on par with the cost. Can't expect a high end piece of meat for that price. Portions overall were good. Nobody could fit dessert, but it looked amazing as we watched people ordering them around us. This place is worth a stop! Convenient and amazing service!!!

We started looking up restaurants and Water Street popped up. When we pulled up, we weren't sure if we were at the right place. Based on the raving reviews, we expected a "flashy", fancy place. Instead it was so "unassuming." Upon walking in....it was just what we needed. It felt "home-y." The hostess greeted us with a warm smile and "welcome," along with some salt water taffy. Then we met our server Caden. He was outstanding!!!! He could tell we needed some good food and drinks and boy did he deliver. My husband and I took his recommendations and ordered the "banana old fashion" and crab crostini...HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!! Then we met Cassie!!! She'd stopped by to see if our daughter (9) needed a refill. Her personality, hospitality, and attention was incredible. Between Caden and Cassie, we laughed so hard, quickly forgetting about the long day we'd had. Traveling often and coming from PA; good customer service is rare. So to find somewhere that makes us feel "right at home," is a blessing. My husband and daughter agreed, we had to come back. We returned yesterday for the second time but this time with our family (from ATL). We'd spoken (more like bragged) so much about our last experience, that they were just as excited as us to return. Once again, we saw our girl Cassie (who was just as amazing as the first time) and our server Jamie. Everything from the Chesapeake fondue, calamari, and cream of crab soup to the drinks and the double crab cakes (P.S they are huge...could barely eat one) were incredible. By the end of our meal, our family was just as impressed! Thank you Jamie and Cassie for such a unforgettable experience. We will be back again!!!

Probably my favorite things were the crab hush puppies, and the fresh fish, served with pineapple. The entrees came with two sides. Therefore, I tried four sides. The French fries and potato salad were really good. The fresh vegetables had onions in it. I am not a big onion fan. The coleslaw was good. Next time, I will order the fish, with just one side- the potato salad was very large. For an appetizer, I will get the clams again, and the crab hush puppies. Yelp was so helpful guiding me to the hush puppies. The chef prepared our food outstandingly. Coral was are very friendly server. A nice meal with an outstanding server and a view of the water made for an excellent day. The host and the people helping out to clear the table were very nice, also. The vibe at the restaurant was a tropical beach feeling. People were dressed casually, mostly in t-shirts.
