I took my dog here for probably 8 years regularly. The owner/ manager whomever she's the head honcho has always been unfriendly and a couple times just rude. I kept going because I was fine with their work. The one time a few years back I tried to make a constructive suggestion on the cut I got pushed back. However today was the final straw after 8+plus years I will not go back. When my husband got back from dropping our dog off he said the owner was in a really bad mood. If you knew my husband he does not talk about people in that way. So when we went to get our dog and we got home with her she had not been cut. The hair was hanging in her eyes and clearly you can see her face had not been groomed. Hesitantly I called in to let them know my feelings. Didn't really want to after all these years but it was just that bad. I got a ridiculous response something about how my dog was not allowing her to blow dry her and therefore she could not properly cut her. But we are talking about professional dog groomers and also groomers that have done my dog for a plus years and you're going to tell me you couldn't do her because she wouldn't let you blow dry her? Ridiculous she had an attitude which I knew for sure she would before I even called. Number one if she had a problem and could not groom properly she should have given a discount, she did not. My neighbor recomended this place and unlike others I had a great experience. I dropped my dog off in the morning, to get bathed, nail trim and anal glands done. They told me she would be done in two hours, and they called exactly 2 hours later. When I picked up my dog, I brought my cat for his paw-dicure. He is often very mean and feisty. I was super impressed how easy and quick they were able to take care of his nails. One thing to note, as they only accepts cash or checks. I have checks collecting dust so if you are the same, might be a good way to get rid of them. read more

I brought my baby in for the second time to get her trimmed up and bathed with an anal extraction. She came back itching like CRAZY. We got her some flea pills but she still wouldn't stop itching. After her appointment she also started to have a very foul fishy smell which she shouldn't have had if they had actually done an anal gland extraction. Love Butler's for grooming my two small poodles.. My prior salon required that they be left by 9:00 am and stay there until finished, which could extended past 6:30 that day. A long time for them to be left in crates. Butlers sets appts. up in the morning and the dogs are ready for pickup in less than two hours. Frequently appointments are available in the same week or early into the next week. Writing this makes me wonder why I would want to increase their clientele; shooting yourself in the foot? Amendment: Received an upset message from the owner. It wasn't my intention to "bad mouth" this business. The people were very nice. Clearly she didn't GET the ear infection there....but doodle's ears are very fuzzy inside and need to be cleaned/plucked. So her ears got damp inside (it is Oregon after all) and the hair holds in the dampness....causing the irritated ear. I apologize if people took my comment as me blaming the shop but I did in fact say in the original post that it was my fault for not catching that the ear clean/trim hadn't been done as I had been told it would be. Original: Our dog had some mats so I asked them to just cut her down instead of doing a 'doodle cut'. They did an alright job of it though they missed some spots and she was kind of choppy. Her curls will hide that once it grows out, so whatever. Unfortunately they didn't pluck or clean her ears like I was told they would. My wife and I own two awesome rescues (Selah & Buddy), and we have had some hard times getting their nails trimmed, glands expressed, etc. because well, let's face it, they don't like it! We have been to just about every place in the county and we always get the same result-no trim, he wouldn't let us, she wasn't feelin it, he was too thrashy we couldn't do the trim, sorry, we didn't want to scare him, she was... you get the idea. The service was EXCEPTIONAL!! We were kindly given a date for them both and we explained the situation (which they are masters of handling), and they were assuring and loving and made it nice for them to go in back, very corrigible, good vibes, EXPERINCED CREW of awesomeness women power! I usually just would lay down on Buddy and Dremel his nails because he gets buck wild, but these ladies of skill and might and everything that is grand and great, got him to not only be cool with his trim and everything else but he got praises for his heez good boys!! I've tried to give this business a second and even third chance and have been disappointed every time unfortunately. I don't know how much clearer I could be about instructions on the cut I wanted for my dog but was never given what I asked for. Additionally, they are cash only which is a nuisance to have an additional stop to the bank since I don't carry cash. During a pandemic, cards/Apple Pay should be accepted. My previous groomer Remy had left Petco in beaverton and I had no idea how/where to reach him and had hoped to find a long term groomer at this establishment but I will not be coming back. The worst, would give zero stars if I could. The groomer was rude and super mean to my dog she kept yelling at him when he tried to say hi. The groomer did not follow my instructions or the picture I gave her (asked her to trim his head /face but she ended up just shaving it see pics.). My dog had no matting so there was no excuse I intentionally brushed out some very small tangles near his backside prior to bringing him. I only used this groomer cause I was in a pinch for time but now I know why their availability was wide open... please if you are considering this groomer do not use them. read more

Took my 1-year old Havanese here today for his very first deluxe grooming. Tina was very nice at the front desk and told me it could take up to 3 hours since it was his first time and due to some matting he had on his chest. I was very nervous but was very relieved and delighted to see him afterward! He's a new dog! They only had to do a little shaving but he's so soft and feels like a plush toy you just want to cuddle with! They did a terrific job and were able to complete his grooming in just a touch over 2-hours. I wrote out a $65 check and off we went. I will be bringing him back for maintenance after his coat grows in some. I would definitely recommend Butlers Pet Grooming! read more

I've be taking out dogs here so couple of years now for grooming and nail cuts. The owners are very nice and accommodating!!!!

We called on Saturday morning to check pricing for a nail trim and face trim, and the woman on the other line was very prompt in getting us a quote as well as advising us that we could bring in our dog before a certain time the same day because they had some openings that morning. I loved how quickly we were able to get our dog in, and they were very quick to get our dog done! I'm not exaggerating when I say our dog smelled better than she ever has before and feels SO clean! Her nails were trimmed perfectly and she seemed to enjoy the experience! Our dog does not do well with being put in a crate in between services (like they do at Petsmart) so I could tell the kind women at Butler's really accommodated our little girl. Before we took her in, she was shivering and was very nervous. When we picked her up, she seemed calm and wasn't shivering at all. Oh, and she was completely dry!!! I wish I could have taken a before and after photo, but I will next time! We will definitely be coming back to Butler's on a regular basis! read more

Very bad place. They do not care about the quality of anything they do for your dog. Everything felt so rushed. I took my dog there 2 days ago and they hardly trimmed her nails at all, they cracked a nail even. I got her anal glands released and now they are infected. I have a beautiful long-haired Persian cat, but since she is old and fat she needs some real help with grooming. When my cat was younger her previous owner used to bring her to Butler's and I am so glad I remembered that. Now that she's geriatric I had not been able to find anyone else to groom her, so I'd been butchering her haircuts myself and it looked sad. One day I was driving by and remembered she used to go there and stopped in to ask if they would still take her. They said absolutely and since then I've had her in several times. What I love about them is that they don't stress her out (I actually used to use a mobile grooming and she would pee whenever I handed her over to him and seemed traumatized when I she came back). She always looks and smells great, the price is very reasonable and she comes home relaxed and happy (I have no idea how they accomplish that, but it makes me very happy). Recently my poor kitty was diagnosed with cancer in her back foot and has been suffering with a non-healing wound on the pad of that foot. They STILL agreed to groom her and again she came home happy and relaxed. Honestly, that is above and beyond and they handle her better than the vets and vet techs I've been taking her to recently (and they got her paw cleaner than the vet, so now the wound is actually HEALING). Truly, I can't say enough great things about Butler's. They are true pros! read more

I took my long-haired cat in to have his fur trimmed (he's not been losing his winter coat). They ended up giving him a cut that makes him look like a poodle or pomeranian. Or a rex, perhaps. The good: they treated him well, as far as I can tell! I think they washed him, but if so they also dried him so well that I could only tell by him smelling like perfume. The cut is consistent length all over, except for his tail and head. I also believe they trimmed his nails. The bad: I really don't like the look. It's horrible, and I keep thinking he's traumatized. I expected him to be brushed out, and his fur trimmed in a more natural fashion, not left looking like only his undercoat is left. For just brushing and washing, they seem to be great, even with cats. That's a big deal, so if that's all you want, go to them. read more

Me and my Pup Jace, love his Groomer Morgan and the entire staff at Butlers! Morgan has been grooming Jace since shortly before his 2nd Birthday and he just turned 5 years old and I wouldn't let anyone else touch him! The atmosphere at Butlers has that good old small town everyone is family feel and Jace always looks absolutely phenomenal when Morgan is done with him. More than anything I know that Jace is in great and capable hands when I leave him in the care of Butlers and I never have to worry - and I don't leave him with anyone! I would recommend Morgan/Butlers because they treat your pets like their own, they do fabulous work and their prices just can't be beat! read more

They are incredibly unfriendly, which I can overlook when they do a good job, but just adds insult to injury when they charge more than their website states, and do not do what you ask. We took our very fluffy goldendoodle in asking for a "Teddy Bear Cut" which I assume a groomer would know, and if they didn't a simple google search turns up hundreds of examples. Instead, they basically shaved her down. When I complained, she told me that she didn't think our dog needed a haircut to begin with... if that is the case... why would they cut he super short? Incredibly rude and kept telling me how many years she has been grooming. If you have been doing this for 30 years, then you should know what the cut we requested is supposed to look like and if you do not, make sure you find out before you start cutting. read more

We really like this grooming place. We have been taking our dog here for a couple of years now. We've never had a problem. It's well priced and the girls there are nice. We drop off in the morning and they call about an hr later telling us Lexi is ready! we get the bath service. They wash and dry, brush coat, and clip/ grind nails. read more

I took my 10 pound Maltepoo, Honey here several years ago when it was called Butler's Dog Wash. She gave a great cut but was very harsh with the animals, I noticed. I didn't reschedule after I went to pick up my dog and she said, "it's your turn, you little jerk" and roughly extracted her from the cage. Honey was clearly afraid of her. In defense of my dog, EVERY groomer who has worked on Honey since then, as well as all the vet techs, have said that Honey is always a very good girl. She has never bit, snarled or bared her teeth at a human and is very gentle in general. I would not recommend this groomer at all. read more

We have been taking our Goldendoodle here for the past year. They do a great job with cut and bathing. Previously at a different groomer, we used to have physically pick him up and take him in to the shop because he refused to walk in. We don't have that problem here. read more

I'm sorry to have to give this place 1 star. We have been taking our Pomeranian here for several years, intermittently between giving him haircuts on our own. Pomeranians are very fluffy/hairy dogs (for those of you who don't know). Unfortunately, both their service and their quality of grooming has declined, and has been consistently below expectations the past several times we've gone in. First incident - we picked up our dog, and he looked like he had been hedged like a bush. Everything was cut uniformly, but was still way too long. I brought him home, decided that he would just end up needing another haircut in a week, and so I called the Dog Wash to let them know. The lady rudely insisted that I had asked for a "trim", and therefore they had kept his hair long. I told her we had been coming in for several years (they keep a file on each animal), and that on no previous visit had the words "a trim" led to our dog not having a satisfactory haircut. She said I could bring him back in but she would charge me for another full haircut. I declined. In fairness, he was very clean, and his hair was well brushed and very soft, but it was also shedding like crazy. Second incident - I took him in, she asked if I wanted the haircut like last time, and I said no, shorter this time around. When I picked him up, the hair on his body had been cut so short he looked like a cat. This I could probably forgive, but the hair on his head had been cut so disproportionately short that it made it look like his head should have been put on a smaller animal altogether. Furthermore, the hair on his head wasn't even cut evenly. Some parts were even shorter than others, so my poor dog's head now looks like a potato. And the patch of fur left on his neck makes it look like he has an adams apple. Again, in fairness, he was very clean, and his hair was very soft, but AGAIN, it was shedding like crazy - as if they had cut his hair and allowed a portion of the hairs to fall back onto his body. If I had seen him before I paid I would have actually considering refusing to pay. I don't know if their groomers or their management has changed, or what else could have resulted in such a dramatic decline in the quality of their work, but I do not recommend this place at all. read more

I have been bringing my two long-haired cats here for a few years now. They are both 13 years old. I just brought Deemka today as she was very unkempt due to medical issues she no longer grooms herself and she HATES to be brushed, so we try to cut out mats but as she is so thin now I get scared I might cut her skin. Today Tina really earned her money. I figured it would probably be difficult to shave Deemka as she is all corners as she has no body fat due to her medical condition. Tina took such good, and gentle care of her and my kitty feels so much better. I can now use a cloth to wipe Deemka down as needed and she has no more mats. I was driving my car today and I accidently turned without using my signal and it obviously made Mr.Butler very angry. Whoever it was who was driving the big black truck with butlers pet grooming advertised on their truck. The man driving the truck was an older man with grey hair. He drove recklessly behind me and flashed his brights on my rearview, he also had an extremely bright light on his front bumper that he shined as well. It made it hard for me to pay attention to the road. He chased me down to the next red light and threw an assortment of quarters and dimes at my car. He then yelled out his window "Next time think about pulling out in front of me asshole " and drove off. I have never done business at their groomers but by the way this gentlemen conducted himself on the road this evening I will never even consider doing business with them. As angry as he got about me turning without using mu signal theres no telling what he would do to my dog if it made him angry from something as little as barking to loud or to much. Next time think about the way you act on the road with your company advertised on your vehicle. There are websites that people can leave reviews about your business such as this one. read more
