If you're looking for a really good NJ-style, huge menu diner, this is it. Greek foods are exceptional especially the chicken orzo soup. I always get a pint to go! Breakfasts are big and tasty (skillets are my fav) and the kids love the extra whipped cream in the hot chocolate and on the waffles. Food is inexpensive and very delicious! It gets crowded on the weekends so make sure to go early, they were super fast for our skillets that they were on point. The Colombian coffee didn't actually taste like Colombian to me but it was alright. The eggs were fluffy but good, I ordered a simple Ham and Cheese Omelet and it was right on point, I tried the skillet from my wife and it was super extra delicious. I live here in Parrish and absolutely love supporting local family owned businesses... but Butterfields Restaurant definitely is not one of those places. I know I can be a picky customer.... but that's only because I expect to get what I'm paying for. My experience: I ordered Eggs Florentine and when I got them, it was basically a hard boiled egg by how over cooked the eggs were. I politely explained this to the server and she took it back immediately and a few minutes late came back with my order again. Except this time, the eggs were completely undercooked to the point where the white of egg was literally still very gooey. I asked for the owner and waited for the server to come back and ask if my order was better now.... since they didn't, I got up with my plate and another server met me and asked me if there was something wrong... I again very politely explained to her that the eggs were very undercooked and she said ok I'll take it. I went and sat down and our server walked up to our table and she asked if there was anything else like a muffin or fruit that she can get me. I said oh no thank you, I'll just wait. So she said ok no problem and I'll make sure to remove it from your check. In which I replied oh no you don't have to take it off (since I was still going to be eating it ). I waited about 15 mins and when the server was walking by (not that she came to check on our table), I asked her what the hold up was?.... well apparently she thought I didn't want anything at all. like really? Why would I come to a breakfast restaurant?..... to have your watered down coffee?.... seriously ? Anyway eventually the food came and this time it was good! Eggs were cooked as they should be and it indeed was a delicious dish. When we go to check out, the server had the audacity to charge us for everything? In which of course I replied (and at this point YES I was very upset!) are you kidding?.... you guys brought me the order Wrong TWICE and made me wait over 15 minutes for it to finally come out right and you are charging me for it?... she was like "but you ate it".... "seriously? I'm sorry but I'm not paying for that". And she did end up removing JUST that. (Would've thought they'd comp the watered down coffee too but apparently not). I still hadn't seen the manager/owner. He never came to the table to apologize for the inconvenience. And when I asked to speak to the owner he was very rude and abrupt! He said "what? Where they still not good for you?" In which I explained to him... very nicely... about the overcooked, the undercooked, and the wait. And he was telling me that he basically knows best of how poached eggs need to be cooked. "Obviously your cook staff doesn't" I also explained to him that as an owner he should've come to our table and see how we were doing because of all and he said "we can't satisfy everyone" and then said "you're just an unsatisfiable customer" and waved me off. (At this point I did go off at him (and somehow I didn't curse)) I was so upset with this whole experience. I know the customer is not always right.... but how dare you treat me like that and brush me off like you just don't care or not even care to come speak to our table from the getgo? We did not need to be treated this way. Officially lost a customer here.... although obviously, they don't care. read more

tried butterfields for the first time this afternoon and had a good experience! my bf ordered the cowboy sandwich, although his steak was cooked well done and he asked for medium, he enjoyed the sandwich and homemade chips. I had the country fried steak with hashbrowns, eggs perfectly cooked over-medium, and sourdough toast. awesome service and waitstaff, will definitely be back!!!! read more

Good locally owned breakfast and lunch spot. With not many places out east, I enjoy breakfast here. Usually no or a small wait there is enough on the menu for everyone in the group. They will customize any item to meet your needs. Haven't had lunch here but the menu is big! read more

Service was poor, food was ok, our waitress was friendly but the owner was gruff ( he was much better when we were paying the bill). It took over 30 minutes to get our food once the order was taken. The place was full but slowing down, the meal was normal breakfast food (eggs, bacon, pancakes, etc). Will not eat there again. read more

This is a place with good potential but our server was struggling. She was nice enough and probably well meaning but we had to ask multiple times for the biscuit with our order, for silverware, for powdered sugar for the French toast and we had zero refills on water or coffee. The biscuit was toasted (screams 'stale' to me) and dry. I prefer fresh and fluffy. The others egg dishes were fine though overscrambled on one. Pancakes were the best of the four dishes ordered and grits were tasty and 'real.' We'll give it a second chance but for today - it was 'meh.' Crowded inside - tables very close together - and reviews seem better than our experience so maybe we just got a bad day. Thankfully we did not have to wait but by the time we left - there were probably 3 or 4 parties waiting. read more

Looking for a good breakfast spot east of Bradenton. Found through Yelp and support all the excellent reviews. Hidden in a small strip mall. Came on a Friday morning about 10 am. Place was hopping. I went to this place for a quick lunch. The first thing I noticed was how busy they were and how friendly the staff were. I intentionally ordered something I am not fond of to really run this place through its paces,the gyro. I must say the Gyro was excellent and once again made me challenge my taste buds and keep an open mind. From what I'm told the owner is Greek and this comes as no surprise when it was recommended to me and was so great. We also tried the BLT which is a very simple dish but it was also great. The Cole slaw was nice and crispy defines you fresh made and not too Mayo-ie like some others I have had. If you are in the area give this place a shot its worth it. read more

I moved here a few months ago and found my new favorite breakfast/brunch spot with Butterfields! Everything is so delicious, especially their skillets (Sorry but I refuse to try anything else, I'm just hooked on their skillets!). The skillets are always 2 meals for me if that tells you their portion sizes. The staff are very accommodating and always checking on you and making sure your drinks are full. Get there early or it will be packed. It can get a little noisy in there but nothing wrong with people enjoying their meals and family time at the same time, it's better than no one speaking to each other and looking at their phones!!! Very personal and attentive wait staff. My boyfriend had coffee and never had to ask for a refill! The menu was rather diverse for breakfast, but also included all of the classics you'd find at a breakfast place. I had the Greek skillet, which had eggs with gyro meat, feta and cheese, and it was delicious. It came with a homemade biscuit that I believe is the best I've ever had! My boyfriend had the eggs Benedict and it was very good as well with homemade hollandaise! The prices were very reasonable and the portions were on the large side as well! Came here with 5 kids. They all had the Mickey pancakes which were out quickly and also delicious. Our waiter, Danielle, was timely and attentive to the kids. 3/17/2018, waited to get our seats for 20 minutes when desk person said 10 minutes. While we were waiting, a group of about 15 showed up after us. Finally we were called for our seat followed by the large group a few minutes behind us. When the waitress came to get our drink order, we ordered food right away because we had already waited 20 minutes and had somewhere to be. After 30 minutes, we still didn't have our food. My son and I left, leaving my wife, because he had an appointment down the street at 12:30, came back and still didn't have our food. About 5 minutes later we see the large group getting their food. Our waitress said our ticket got pushed behind theirs somehow. She knew the problem, but didn't fix it. This was totally the waitresses fault. I Asked to talk to the manager, she said he wasn't there and would be back later. This is an over all failure by the staff and management. I think they saw dollar signs with the large group of Harvard rowers that are only in town for a couple weeks and didn't care about the locals that keep them in business. I will spread the word about this and hopefully this will hit them right in the pocketbook. I'm all about shopping/eating locally, but I'm not going to be treated like this by anyone. read more
