We ordered a Benedict and chorizo breakfast. First of all, this place was recommended in a visitors pamphlet for Amarillo. In that brochure, it said that one could pick from 20 different biscuit flavors. We found that NOT to be the case. Additionally, when a place advertises a specialty, like biscuits, then that should be best menu item. We've tasted better biscuits at Whataburger! One has to go thru a "cafeteria line" concept to order...the menu board doesn't list its prices...a HUGE red flag...and then you are paying restaurant breakfast prices having to pick up your own dishes and trash!!!!!!!! The main flow of traffic to tables, at the rear of the place, are clogged with chairs/tables and the order "taker" was not a morning person . Both of our meals were undercooked and flavorless. Save your money and go somewhere else! read more

Wow, it's taken me a couple of years but I just had a biscuit from Butter Love and it was impeccable! A co-worker brought a box of various flavors to work and they were so good! Blueberry is my favorite. The cream cheese//butter smear isn't necessary, I don't think, because the biscuits alone are dense and moist. I recommend them! This is an updated review. I visited Butterlove Biscuits again today and it's just as amazing as it was last I was there in Amarillo last year. The service is wonderful. Visiting from out of town and this came up when I searched for brunch. I would encourage you to go earlier than later as some of the menu faves go fast such as the fried deviled eggs and the blueberry biscuits. You order and then find a table. They do a great job with social distancing. You can order adult beverages from the bar. Pictured is the honey hush and the truffle tots. I loved everything. The biscuit is large, fresh, and soft. Stopped by on my drive to Houston to pick up food to-go. Five-star food with one-star adherence to COVID guidelines. I'll start with the food: The honey hush biscuit (fried chicken between a biscuit with honey sauce) was incredible. The biscuit isn't dry and is the right amount of crumbly. I liked the ratio of ingredients, and as someone who doesn't particularly care for biscuits, I would say that Butterlove might be able to convert me. At the same time, they didn't seem to be trying at all when it came to minimizing COVID risk. Almost all employees were wearing masks, but one kept tugging at hers to expose her nose and mouth. Another was wearing a face shield with no mask underneath. Several patrons came in without masks and were not addressed by the employees. This place has very cute decor! Very welcoming and it feels like a really nice brunch place. My mimosa was delicious! I got the regular orange mimosa and it was perfectly mixed. The orange juice was fresh squeezed and it was served in a large glass. The honey honey butter biscuit was good, but I wished it had more of a honey taste. It comes with a honey butter spread and honey drizzle but the taste of honey on mine was lacking. The chicken was hot and juicy and the biscuit was soft and crumbly. Makes for a quick meal because it absorbs any ingredients on it. The key lime doughnut had phenomenal texture, perfectly flaky. This place is totally amazing. I never knew that it was possible to do the things that they're able to do with a biscuit. I drive up from Lubbock and to think that I could get a blueberry or cherry chocolate chip biscuit that taste better than a coffee cake is unheard of. The service is also amazing. Love love love the set up. Decent amount of seating for a small counter service restaurant but so many options and a full service bar. It's nestled in the center of a small shopping center and if you're not familiar with the area which I wasn't, it can definitely be missed. I enjoyed my simple biscuits and gravy and the servicing sizes are huge. I'm not sure I would rave on it but it was a cool little find. The cinnamon sugar tater tots would have me coming back though, with a sugar glaze and the right amount of sweet they were delicious! Peach mimosa was good but a little sweet for my liking, which honestly I should've figured. The 3 stars comes from a friend of mines chicken biscuit. About half way through she realized the chicken was still a bit pink. She said the flavor was good but didn't finish it once she saw the warm center. My friend and I stopped here on a Rt. 66 road trip in late May, and it was love at first bite! I had the Green Thumb, and she had the Breakfast Plate. Both were delicious, and I have wanted to return ever since. On our way back from a trip to CO, my husband and I took a detour so I could stop in. This time I had the High Heaven and he had the Good Ol' Boy. Another win! I suggest a stop in whether you are just traveling through or live in the area. I only wish there was one closer to home (NE Oklahoma). I haven't had any of the sweet menu items, but purchased some to go...they look delicious too. Everything is super clean and the staff are all friendly and appear to enjoy what they do. I really wanted to love this spot. Per usual we ordered a hodge podge of things. Breakfast tots- asked for an over easy egg, the yolk was hard. The gravy was cold and didn't have a ton of flavor. Loaded tots- had tons of jalapenos with a splash of cheese... Disappointed. Chicken and waffles was good, but super basic. Ball of fire- the ranch had a ton of flavor, chicken was tender and moist. I couldn't finish it though. The biscuit got super mushy once you starting cutting everything up. Best thing on the menu were the fried green tomatoes, i got a side of chimmichurri to dip them in! We drove through Amarillo on our way home from New Mexico. Instead of the usual fast food stop while on the road, we decided to try something better and that it was! It wasn't too far off our route either! We ordered the She Devils, Great Ball of Fire, and the Honey Hush. We easily ordered and paid online, and arrived a bit early for curbside pickup but surprisingly our order was ready! So glad we didn't have to wait. I thought the She Devil was a deep fried deviled egg but it was just a breaded hard boiled egg topped with mashed avocado. We were a bit disappointed as it lacked salt and any kind of flavor. He egg itself was a bit rubbery because it was overcooked. It wasn't exactly a deviled egg but the mashed avocado on top was good and fresh. The sandwiches, Great Balls of Fire and Honey Hush, were great. The biscuits were huge and tender. It wasn't the best biscuit I've ever had but it was good. The fried chicken in the sandwich was about the size of the biscuits, which was nice. The chicken was also perfectly cooked and not over cooked like some biscuit sandwiches I've had. There are long, community sized tables which creates a family feel and can easily accommodate large parties. They even have a full bar! This place is absolutely adorable! Great concept and well represented across the decor. Lots of seating and sparkling clean! You order at the counter and are given a number to place on your table. Everything from there is self-service. You help yourself to silverware, condiments, etc and bus your own table. I appreciated that they had honey in the table and blackberry jelly packets available. That's my fave on biscuits! Ham is absolutely fantastic - highly recommend if you go with a full breakfast. Eggs were cooked perfectly. Now onto the not so good. The biscuits are NOT GOOD. We got a bucket of biscuits ready to tuck into some amazing write home about buttermilk biscuits....and they were terrible. Dense, heavy, slightly undercooked, underseasoned and tasted of shortening.
