A more 'Sophisticated' Hot Dog at Bumps, lol....was Delicious actually!!
    Elton W.

Bumps Lodge at the Base of Buttermilk Mountain takes eating at a ski mountain to a more civilized level. Case in point - although they had French's Yellow Mustard for my Hot Dog, they also had a more 'sophisticated' Grey Poupon Dijon Mustard, lol. Actually loved that they had that option. If you've never had Dijon on your Dog, you should try it, it's great and I prefer it actually. The lodge is nice & airy, with super-tall wood beamed ceilings, is immaculately clean and have really tasty food options like made-to-order pastas and an on-site bakery with delicious muffins, pastries, etc. Really great spot for breakfast or lunch, but if you have the ability to, a much better option would be to take the ski lift up to the Top of Buttermilk mountain and eat at The Cliffhouse lodge which also offers good food and stunning panoramic views of the surrounding mountains! That being said, I still think Bumps is great and Recommend it!

Over priced and you can go to hometown right next door and get cheaper food and drinks.

Grilled cheese pan fried with cheese seared into the bread, what more can you ask for? Much thanks to Pete, an awesome bartender.

From the moment we walked in, I loved the atmosphere -- it has such a cozy yet high-end feel that makes it perfect for a special occasion. Our server, Jay, was amazing. He was incredibly kind, attentive, and gave us great recommendations that really enhanced our experience. We ordered the Caesar salad, which I understand is one of their signature dishes, and it did not disappoint -- fresh, flavorful, and beautifully prepared. The onion soup was perfect for the weather, warm, comforting, and very tasty. We also had the burger, which was excellent and very satisfying. We didn't order more only because we had already had snacks on the mountain, but honestly, everything we saw being served around us looked incredible. It's definitely a place I would love to come back to in order to try more dishes. Highly recommend for both the ambiance, the service, and the quality of the food.

Hot, delicious, loved that the cheese was thin and not a thick layer. Same goes for the bread. 2. Ribeye cap (special; 8oz) - Very peppered with a crust on top. Delicious and more lean than I thought (which is not a bad thing). 3. Asparagus - Nice touch that they split them lengthwise. Salt and pepper, sauce on the side as requested. Very good. 4. Bison burger - Big, oily, messy. Truffle fries are average but good flavor. The bacon in the burger is overpowering so had to remove and put on the side. Overall a nice steakhouse dinner, especially for a mountain town. Recommend to try!

It's nice enough looking and the servers were friendly and helpful. The manager came by and checked on us the 3 times we ate here. Admittedly it was the off-season so the staff was new and learning, but our experience was great! The Huevos Rancheros wasn't on the menu (just room service), but the manager said she could do it and boy was it fantastic! The eggs benedict was also a great choice as my wife ordered it daily. All in all, we were very happy with the service, taste, experience and would recommend it to anyone.

We ordered wine to start, and the selection is about average, lots of pricey wines and not a whole lot of more affordable, good quality wines were offered. Nonetheless, we thoroughly enjoyed ours! They started us with a complimentary pork belly appetizer which was incredible! Next we had among the 5 of us: the kale salad (amazing) the fried calamari (lots of tentacles with small pieces, could be better) Margarita pizza - average, wouldn't order it again The burrata, definitely our best choice! For dinner we had the ribeye, also a wonderful choice and cooked beautifully. The tuna was really good, but cut a little odd so it was sort of awkward to eat. The cavatelli pasta with sausage was also very good, I'd definitely order that again. The chicken was good, a large serving so certainly shareable. For sides we had the mushroom risotto which was perfectly done and very flavorful (my favorite part of the meal), the meatballs which were quite dense and garlicky, and the brussel sprouts which were pretty good. I personally had the rigatoni bolognese, which unfortunately was so undercooked I couldn't eat it at all. Not al dente, just flat out underdone :( the presentation was beautiful though! And someone in my party ordered iced tea, for which they brought sugar, but she said it was so sweet already so I'm not sure if they know is sweetened already? They offered us an array of desserts to make up for the few mishaps which were all amazeeee, especially the tiramisu and the chocolate ice cream with toasted fluff on top and caramel! It had a different name but either way it was great. I'd come back to try it again possibly, but we have had so many incredible dinners in Aspen I had to give this place a 3, mostly because the only thing I ordered was the rigatoni (inedible). Better luck next time I suppose!
