This is one of my go to stops for lunch when I'm in Crested Butte. My new favorite is the Greek salad with gyro meat - it's generously sized (as you can tell from the photos), and delicious. I love how casual this place is, and how friendly the staff is. Ordering is so easy at the counter, and they hand you a number, and bring your food over. Ok, let's get into it. This place is phenomenal. Good was amazing. We had Og Pitas, fries and Thai rice bowl w Chicken. The pitas were awesome! Fresh ingredients, great flavor, a definite score! The Thai Rice Bowl w Chicken was great. Authentic flavors, good size portions for the money, totally worth it! And the fries... ridiculous! The menu says twister fries and needs to be edited but don't worry, the "replacement" fries are on point!! The establishment is a little hidden as far as street view signage but just look for the happy customers enjoying great food in the street under umbrellas (also located next to or under the Handworks sign. Since they like us to mention the ambiance... if you sit outdoors on a summers day, it's phenomenal. Beautiful weather, plenty of shade with the umbrellas provided. Views of the mountains surrounding. Friendly faces eating all around you. It's a great vibe. Indoors is OK... If you have the option and it's good weather, definitely go for outside. read more

This place really went downhill fast. Bland food, tiny portions. Ordered takeout and they skimped on fries, hummus, forgot to give us pita, etc. Spent about $100 and wasn't even able to feed a family of 2 adults and 2 small children. We always see lots of folks like us who take the whole family here and enjoy the tasty food for lunch. I go with the signature "O.G." which is their gyro. Who would've thought that the pita joint was the place to watch college football in town?! First off, this hidden gem seems like a little Greek lunch place from the outside but inside it's a huge sports bar!!! Even while packed, staff was nice and attentive. Food came at a reasonable time and was hot. Order was right. Bathrooms were clean. All was great and the place was absolutely packed!! They had happy hour 2-5 with food and drink specials. Lots of local and domestic beers to choose from whether bottle or draft. Prices of beer were great and under 6 dollars for a craft beer even when it wasn't happy hour. Extra fun is if you picked your team when you ordered. They provided free Jell-O shots when the prospective team scored a touchdown. I didn't partake but it was fun to watch! Boneless Buffalo wings were spicy but I loved it. Greek fries were interesting and delicious. They consisted of curly fries with sauce and feta plus a meat of your choice (we got grilled chicken). Great spot right off Main Street, nice for a quick bite. Friendly service and the food came quickly, with an OK beer selection on tap. Ample seating during 4th of July week, small town-mountain feels with chalkboard menus. I ordered the teriyaki tofu pita which came out fast, but the tofu was cooked and served in slabs, leaving an overpowering tofu taste in my mouth, which was a shame because the ingredients were fresh and everything else on my pita was tasty. An accessible restaurant with an impressive looking soup bar. But I was in no mood for soup. I hankered lamb. Spiced and juicy lamb. Enter the Happy Hour OG (signature original gyro sandwich)! While it did not come with fries, the thinly sliced lamb was supposedly slow-roasted. It was tasty spiced with sautéed onion, lettuce, feta cheese minus the tomato. And messy tzatziki sauce, chunky yum with cucumbers, which, mixed with lamb juices and greases, spilled out of the pita on to shirts, faces, floors and seating areas. It was good. Packed with lamb. Napkins required. Patio seating out of doors as well. Great old building with color. The basket of fries were hearty. The iced tea did not taste fresh brewed. I recommend a visit here. I am hoping that this was just a one off, but my wife and I purchased a couple of Reuben pitas that we were very excited about after a big bike ride. We were sadly disappointed. We got a previously frozen pile of microwaved meat, cheese, and cabbage doused in thousand island. It was microwaved so flipping hot that we couldn't open the wrappers for 10 minutes. Sadly this has become pretty typical of restaurants these days. They think because of Covid they can just send out there nasty, frozen, microwaved, cat food and charge full prices. I really like pitas and I think they have such delicious curry! They have two locations, one in Crested Butte and one in Gunnison and is a local favorite. I get the third bowl, which has all three of their curry's in one. The only sad thing is that because of the housing crisis in the Gunnison County, so they had to up their prices. read more

We were vacationing with friends and had walked past Pitas in Paradise several times during the week. Finally one of the guys said, let's try this place! We had a big party, but were able to get a spot right away out of sheer luck because the joint was jumping. My husband and I both had the OG which is their signature gyro and seasoned twister fries. It was so delicious and more than enough to eat. The fries sounded like a must try from the menu, but they were pretty average and I'm not sure there was anything special about them. Next time we're in CB we'll be back and I want to try their soup bar. They had five different soups that all sounded and looked incredible! read more

We ordered takeout. They said it would take 15 min, we arrived 25 minutes later and it still took them 10 minutes to get our order. I suspect it wasn't put together at all... and no, there was no one else ordering in the place. The food was OK, nothing special, even the Gyro which is their 'specialty'. A single standard size Gyro for $10 (without ANY sides) should be superb, nope, not this one -- just average. Not bad, but nothing special and not worth $10. read more
