This is a tiny bar in a strip mall, it's the perfect "you cannot judge a book by its cover" spot. While from the outside (and inside) it looks like a dive bar. The food was delicious. We were on a mission for good wings and after a quick google search we found this place. Portion sizes were def huge for the prices which was nice, we left full and happy. Like the other reviews stated the man behind the bar also serves the tables, we had to order at the bar and get our drinks from the bar. I ended up here based on a recommendation. When asking people from the area where to get the best wings. It is an old school bar with a fairly large seating area with tables. I believe the kids these days would classify this place as "retro" because of the 90's-2000's music playing and the 2 foot speakers hanging from the walls from an old radio system. It was clean and the seating in the bar area was updated. There was one employee who was serving the bar and the seating area. He was doing a great job handling drinks and food but wasn't the most friendly probably because he was running the whole show. The wings were up at the top of the list of wings in the area. Cool little dive bar, came here after going to Bayard Cutting Arboretum State Park! Me and my gf were looking to grab lunch and I just googled bars near by and went off reviews. This place looked like the had good wings. I ordered buffalo boneless wings with a side order of fries and my gf got chicken fingers with a side of fries. Let me start by saying the portions of food here is very huge. Realistically you can order one order of fries and wings and split it. I regretted getting 2 order of fries when we could a just got one. They give you so many fries lol. Food quality was decent but the buffalo wings for my liking were a lil way to salty. The sauce they put on wings was overly salty for my pallet and liking, but the quality is there. Bartender was very attentive and a sweet heart. Drinks are nothing special, I got a margarita and it had a nasty after taste I didn't like. I think it was cause she put something in it off the taps and they were cleaned in a long time. My margarita had a after taste like if the taps were connected to the toilet bowl lol. I recommend just sticking to beer. Overall, not a bad bar at all. You can't always go by what you hear on TikTok/Instagram. We were in the mood for wings tonight and I recall seeing a video with Rob Martinez interviewing Chef Michael Clemente and he asked him what is the best place for wings and he raved about Fatty McGee's. So we said let's give it a go. We walk in and the first thing I got was a musty odor smell. Nothing terrible though. They didn't have a waitress so we had to place our order at the bar. Looked over the menu and decided to have the hobonero and Buffalo traditional wings. They sell them 12 in a basket. (That wasn't mention on the menu) also there wasn't a price, it said market value. ( we paid $17 for 12) We also ordered the bacon cheese fries. We waited about 20 mins for our food. Let's talk about the wings.. The hobonero sauce was a mildly hot BBQ sauce and the buffalo sauce was a medium spicy. The wings were on the small side, but were fried Crispy. Overall they were good, just wish there were bigger and meatier. The fires were like shoestring fries and were hot. I do have to mention is that they Do Not offer is Heinz ketchup. Looked and tasted like an Aldi's brand. It wasn't bad but it wasn't Heinz! Overall Fatty McGees was good but we probably won't go back. But if you're in the area stop by and try them out. read more

So this is a Sports Bar that is Cash Only and it's parking lot is shared with neighboring businesses, so parking space might be limited. As you enter, you'll notice that The Bar Area is pressed against the wall and is connected to the kitchen. There's two dinning areas, one that's closer to the bar with tables and chairs, while the other is set up with booths. They offer an ATM, Arcade Games such as Golf, Dart Board, Multiple Big Screen TV's, TouchTunes, and they play QuickDraw here. They have about 8 beers on tap, with a fairly large and diverse menu of food to select from, at affordable prices. Separate restrooms for men and women, and smoking can be done outside the front or rear of the building. It's unique feature is the walls that are decorated with a sports theme, including a collage of photos from its customers. This place has a cozy atmosphere about it and is worth checking out. read more

I've drank here a bunch of times but finally had the full food experience tonight so it's time to leave a review! Dive bar you ask? This place has all the qualities. I tried to bring my 15 year old sister here once for food and she made me turn around because of the outside appearance. I come here weekly with my kickball league and Fatty's is courteous enough to house all of us and fulfill all of our drinking/eating needs. Tonight I ordered naked buffalo wings, just wings with no breading on them. The wings were on the smaller side but the sauce had just the right amount of spiciness to it that I like, served with chunky bleu cheese. The food took a little long and I was starting to wonder if my wings were given to someone else after waiting that long. This was such a laid back place. The bartender was very welcoming and accommodating. The menu was well explained and samples of the sauces were given before we committed to them. This is the quintessential neighborhood bar. Very casual, relaxed atmosphere. Lots of tv's which are always tuned to whatever sports happen to be on, so if that's your thing you will love it here. They have a typical pub style menu, but the food is good and reasonably price and they have the best wings and their steak is outstanding. They're apps are all really good, the only one I wouldn't recommend would be the disco fries. They brought it out with 4 slices of cheese on top, not even melted. Typical but amazing barfood. Went here last night with my son and had the burger, wings and mozzarella sticks. The burger was the best I have had in a really long time. Beats out any of these so-called gourmet burger places. Taste like simply seasoned beef cooked on the barbecue in your backyard just the way you like it. I asked for it to be cooked to medium and that's exactly what I got. The thick meat patty was soft and so good and the burger came with lettuce, tomato and pickles and a hefty portion of fries. The wings were amazing. Buffalo sauce the way it should be made. Extremely good classic flavor. The mozzarella sticks left a little to be desired. They were fine for bar food but not the best I've had. I'm only giving four stars because I think they should have a better beer selection. No Sam Adams and none of the craft beers that are rampant on Long Island. Bring in some Blue Point beer, Great South Bay, Montauk brewery, etc. The only thing they had was a Goose Island IPA. I'm not fond of IPAs as I would rather have a stout or a wheat beer (not Bud, yuck) to go with my burger. So many great breweries out here and none of them were represented in this bar. The waitress was very friendly and once she noticed we were there, took care of us right away. Everything was brought out quickly. My son said he now knows why the place is called Fatty McGee's. One of the last good old bars. Great food, cheap beer on tap and lots of tvs. Some bar games and ATM. Cute boy behind the bar. The alarm by the kitchen which I thought was an old pay phone ringing adds to the charm. I drove all the way here from Merrick to try their infamous wings and was not disappointed. Crispy and meaty!! oh Fatty's. This bar was an accidental visit after a good friend's wedding. Dive bar doesn't even begin to describe this place, and that's one of the reasons I fell in love with it. My first visit was a pregame stop after a church wedding and before a reception. This was the first place I tried Shock Top on draft and that made me happy. The outside of the bar is ultra shady, no windows...you almost think you're heading into a strip club. Inside, plenty of NY sports garb on the walls, especially Islanders stuff which made me laugh. Beers are dirt cheap, bartenders were friendly and one let me take my Yankees pint glass home with me. The bar food is standard...I recommend the toasted raviolis, potato skins, and the grilled chicken sandwich. I returned to Fatty's this weekend for a birthday party and had a blast drinking cheap beers, cheap shots, playing darts and simply enjoying the crowd there. This is not a classy joint at all....the epitome of dive....but if you're in the area, definitely worth a pit stop. Only downside, make sure you have cash on you as the minimum to charge on a credit card is $25. read more

I honestly do not know what all the hype is about...their famous wings?!? That's laughable...my fiancee has been dying to go out for wings...I'm told this is the local spot for wings and they're awesome...so we sit at a table and while there are a few people scattered around the bar the Bartender tells us we have to come up to order from him because he can't leave the bar...I'm sorry, but if you have tables available for seating and no server scheduled on, than your Bartender takes both the bar seats and physically approaches the tables for service...but ok, I go up and order for us. 12 buffalo, 6 bourbon, and 6 hoboe...they came out and there was absolutely nothing special about them. Most of them were not that crispy, definitely way over sauced, and the buffalo wings weren't even spicy...one of the other sauces smelled like Frank and beans, and the other sauce was alright...I would not go back here for wings, or food for that matter if they pride themselves on the wings and those aren't even that good...I guess they've been a staple in the area for so long people just think that's what good wings are, but we left very unimpressed and won't be returning. read more

My wife and I stopped here for some wings during a long drive home. We were very excited at the prospect of getting some wings off the interstate but were unsure as we were running on a deadline. A 20 minute stop turned into an hour waiting. Eventually, we left without even receiving wings. Now I have eaten thousands of wings during the course of my life and never have I had to wait more than 30 minutes.
