Your local dive bar with the best wings on Long Island! My husband and I love trying wings all over the island and so far Fatty Mcgee's wings are in the number #1 spot on our list! We had the Buffalo wings, Hoboe wings (mix of Buffalo and teriyaki) and a basket of fries. Keep in mind we already started eating the wings and fries before I took the photo They looked so good we couldn't wait!

I ended up here based on a recommendation. When asking people from the area where to get the best wings. It is an old school bar with a fairly large seating area with tables. I believe the kids these days would classify this place as "retro" because of the 90's-2000's music playing and the 2 foot speakers hanging from the walls from an old radio system. It was clean and the seating in the bar area was updated. There was one employee who was serving the bar and the seating area. He was doing a great job handling drinks and food but wasn't the most friendly probably because he was running the whole show. The wings were up at the top of the list of wings in the area. They were hot, crispy, and flavorful. If you want to hang and have some drinks and hot food don't let the appearance fool you.

Cool little dive bar, came here after going to Bayard Cutting Arboretum State Park! Me and my gf were looking to grab lunch and I just googled bars near by and went off reviews. This place looked like the had good wings. I ordered buffalo boneless wings with a side order of fries and my gf got chicken fingers with a side of fries. Let me start by saying the portions of food here is very huge. Realistically you can order one order of fries and wings and split it. I regretted getting 2 order of fries when we could a just got one. They give you so many fries lol. Food quality was decent but the buffalo wings for my liking were a lil way to salty. The sauce they put on wings was overly salty for my pallet and liking, but the quality is there. Bartender was very attentive and a sweet heart. Drinks are nothing special, I got a margarita and it had a nasty after taste I didn't like. I think it was cause she put something in it off the taps and they were cleaned in a long time. My margarita had a after taste like if the taps were connected to the toilet bowl lol. I recommend just sticking to beer. Overall, not a bad bar at all. You typical local bar with all the local regulars. I would come back here and get food but definitely nothing to rave about.

You can't always go by what you hear on TikTok/Instagram. We were in the mood for wings tonight and I recall seeing a video with Rob Martinez interviewing Chef Michael Clemente and he asked him what is the best place for wings and he raved about Fatty McGee's. So we said let's give it a go. We walk in and the first thing I got was a musty odor smell. Nothing terrible though. They didn't have a waitress so we had to place our order at the bar. Looked over the menu and decided to have the hobonero and Buffalo traditional wings. They sell them 12 in a basket. (That wasn't mention on the menu) also there wasn't a price, it said market value. ( we paid $17 for 12) We also ordered the bacon cheese fries. We waited about 20 mins for our food. Let's talk about the wings.. The hobonero sauce was a mildly hot BBQ sauce and the buffalo sauce was a medium spicy. The wings were on the small side, but were fried Crispy. Overall they were good, just wish there were bigger and meatier. The fires were like shoestring fries and were hot. I do have to mention is that they Do Not offer is Heinz ketchup. Looked and tasted like an Aldi's brand. It wasn't bad but it wasn't Heinz! Overall Fatty McGees was good but we probably won't go back. But if you're in the area stop by and try them out.

Not my kind of spot anymore, crap beer selection, crap service, crappy dive. The dive part I can get behind, even the wings are good but not worth the half hour wait. Not into this spot at all due to my hungry impatience, and their slow attitudes

So this is a Sports Bar that is Cash Only and it's parking lot is shared with neighboring businesses, so parking space might be limited. As you enter, you'll notice that The Bar Area is pressed against the wall and is connected to the kitchen. There's two dinning areas, one that's closer to the bar with tables and chairs, while the other is set up with booths. They offer an ATM, Arcade Games such as Golf, Dart Board, Multiple Big Screen TV's, TouchTunes, and they play QuickDraw here. They have about 8 beers on tap, with a fairly large and diverse menu of food to select from, at affordable prices. Separate restrooms for men and women, and smoking can be done outside the front or rear of the building. It's unique feature is the walls that are decorated with a sports theme, including a collage of photos from its customers. This place has a cozy atmosphere about it and is worth checking out.

Great wings! This bar is so Long Island it hurts "that's a good thing". The layout is nice, lots of TVs & great appetizers. One recommendation, offer a side of gravy with your perogies, sour cream is a just ok dipping option. That being said I'll be back soon.

Not the most inviting entrance.. Lol

I've drank here a bunch of times but finally had the full food experience tonight so it's time to leave a review! Dive bar you ask? This place has all the qualities. I tried to bring my 15 year old sister here once for food and she made me turn around because of the outside appearance. I come here weekly with my kickball league and Fatty's is courteous enough to house all of us and fulfill all of our drinking/eating needs. Tonight I ordered naked buffalo wings, just wings with no breading on them. The wings were on the smaller side but the sauce had just the right amount of spiciness to it that I like, served with chunky bleu cheese. The food took a little long and I was starting to wonder if my wings were given to someone else after waiting that long. The bartenders are awesome though and very quick to take your order!

***SO MUCH BETTER THAN DELI SANDWICHES***…read more SEXY SALAD After many visits, John the owner of The Sandwich Hut - and also The Sexy Salad a few miles away - explained why he created this new venture. In his way of thinking, after running The Sexy Salad for over a decade, he needed a change - for example, something new and invigorating to clear his mind. But at the same time, I think, something not too complicated and laborious. MAKE IT SIMPLE As such, john chose a simple minimalist design for the store, with a few select offerings. And decorated the interior and exterior in a fast quirky kind of way. And finally, he limited operations to only four hours a day. HOPING FOR THE BEST Seeing all this for the first time, and without knowing the back-story, I assumed this enterprise was the work of a first time entrepreneur. This is someone without the experience to properly create a new restaurant that would succeed, I thought. And even worse, the place seemed to always be dead whenever I drove by. Feeling kind of sorry for the owner, a few of us paid a visit one day, trying to help out with some business. And so hoping for the best, we walked in, and were instantly greeted by John. He started out by making recommendations, from a kind of makeshift menu board next to the counter, that resembled a scrapbook. In addition, there were more menu items posted on the wall behind the counter, and then some on the wall next to the entrance. Also, there was a pretty small refrigerated display with some drinks, and snacks & chips placed here and there. And probably owing to a hasty move-in, there were multiple refrigerated standup cases just sitting empty on the walls behind the counter. And so, the initial impression most would get from the appearance of this restaurant, would be one of a rushed or incomplete realization of a business concept. WHAT A SURPRISE! On our first visit, I chose the Fried Eggplant Panini, only to be informed that it was sold out - at 1:00 pm. Oy vey, not a good sign I thought. So my second pick was the Pesto Grilled Chicken. In addition, a Cuban Sandwich was ordered, and some drinks from the somewhat limited choices available in the display case. After a bit of a long wait, we received our order, and were informed we could choose a free bag of chips from the assortment next to the menu board, to accompany our sandwiches. A nice little offering, that's never really given elsewhere. And so finally, we walked out with a bag of sandwiches and chips - when suddenly I exclaimed " Holy Shit Something Smells Really Good! " And as it happens, it was my Pesto Grilled Chicken sandwich creating that wonderful aroma. And after removing my sandwich from the container, I discovered I had received something totally unexpected. A sandwich with perfectly grilled chicken, melted mozzarella, roasted red peppers, and that fragrant pesto sauce on a crispy toasted ciabatta. So I hurriedly snapped my Yelp pictures, and took a bite. Sure enough, it was absolutely delicious, and nothing like what I expected from my initial impressions of the store. And although my sandwich was a bit on the smaller size, the Cuban Sandwich was fairly large and also smelled fantastic. So we decided to do the " Old Switcheroo " and share half of each sandwich. Doing this, I discovered the Cuban sandwich was equipped with ham, turkey, melted swiss, and pickles on a buttered grilled & pressed hero. And while it was definitely not as good as the Cuban sandwich I order from La Cubanita Deli, (review coming soon), it was still surprisingly good. ANOTHER VISIT AND MORE IMPRESSIVE RESULTS After discussing our initial visit, to make sure it wasn't an outlier, we decided the Sandwich Hut required another shot. So on this occasion, the Fried Eggplant Panini was available, and we also chose the Short Rib Grilled Cheese. And sure enough, my eggplant panini was fantastic, with melted mozzarella, roasted peppers, and again, that fragrant pesto spread - and the short rib was a hit also. OTHER ITEMS AS WELL After our first two visits, we returned a few more times, and ordered more sandwiches, and a Caesar salad with grilled chicken, that was large and tasty. And remember, John is no stranger to salads, so they also offer an Earth Angel Salad, which has cranberries, nuts, granola, and cheese. In addition, there are burgers, hot dogs, wings, egg sandwiches, and smoothies listed on the various menus. HOLE-IN-THE-WALL? Well, the store kind of seems hastily thrown together. There's only one tiny table with two chairs to eat-in. And not a really large selection of drinks at all to choose from, by today's standards. And then there's the scattered menus everywhere you look. So, does one get a hole-in-the-wall vibe from the Sandwich Hut? Maybe. But I'll tell you what, if I want a delicious artisanal sandwich in Hauppauge, I can't think of any other place I would rather order from.
