The food here is delicious! The dishes come out piping hot and the portions are great. Tastes authentic. Prices are reasonable. Seating inside is limited. Tables are small so be aware if you're ordering multiple dishes and sharing them family style (as per Asian tradition); you may run out of space. The servers need to step up their game. They're not bad by any means, but they seem bored and disengaged from their work. You need to ask them for everything--refills, utensils, to-go boxes, etc. With such a small space, they should be easily able to check on guests occasionally to see if they need anything. Probably 3.5 stars but we'll round up :) I stopped by on a weekday in the early evening. It wasn't busy -- the staff was attentive and the service was prompt. It's a casual spot, very accessible if you're hopping off the metro, and there's plenty of seating indoors. I believe I ordered the Ka Pow Perfect and Drunken Noodle with chicken and they were running a promotion with free spring rolls. The portions were delightfully massive for the price point (I paid $43 including 20% tip). I had some pieces of fried chicken that turned me off the entree, so I'd go for a different protein if I were to try the dish again. It wasn't aggressively spicy so you really don't have to be cautious when choosing the spice level. For the drunken noodles, the sheer (over)size of the noodles made it a bit less enjoyable, but the flavor was great. I got takeout from Buuz Thai Eatery in Arlington and overall it was a really good meal. I would absolutely go back. Pad Thai with extra shrimp: Very good. The flavor was balanced and the portion size was solid. Steamed shrimp and vegetables: Clean tasting and came with a really good dipping sauce on the side. I can't remember exactly what it was, but it tasted like a sweet basil style sauce and paired really well with the shrimp and veggies. Mango sticky rice: Good overall. The coconut sauce was more liquidy than I prefer and I usually like it a little thicker. The mango wasn't super flavorful, but that's understandable since it isn't really mango season. Still a satisfying dessert and I would get it again. Dumplings: I think I ordered the Thai dumplings. They were okay. Not bad, just not the standout of the meal. Next time I'd probably try one of the other dumpling options, maybe something more unique or with a different texture. Overall I would recommend Buuz Thai Eatery for solid Thai takeout. read more

We only ordered from their Mongolian menu, and they had three dishes available that day. I think their Mongolian food is authentic, and their servers were also Mongolian. If you want to try real Mongolian food in the NOVA/DC area, come here! We ordered their fried dumplings and steamed. Both have meat and onions, but it's mainly meat. I prefer the deep fried one (which is flat and kinda shaped like an empanada). It was delicious! The steamed one tastes similar to traditional Chinese dumplings, but came with sweet cabbage salad in the middle. I think the soup was my favorite. It came with man tou or steamed plain buns. The meat was very tender and the soup was flavorful, especially for someone who doesn't usually like soup. There was a good proportion of veggies vs. meat, unlike the dumplings. For drinks, we ordered milk tea which came with quinoa at the bottom. This is NOT like your traditional Taiwanese milk tea. This tastes mainly like warm milk but also contains black tea. The quinoa at the bottom was a nice treat. For some reason, this drink took the longest to come out. If you want to try something new, I'd recommend getting this. Just popped in for a quick dinner. We had the fried dumplings and beef goulash., which was especially good. The beef quality and tenderness in the ghoulish is a rare find! The Olivier Salad was also among the best I've had and I've lived in and traveled extensively throughout the former Soviet Union where this salad abounds. I've also been in Mongolia and this has authentic cooking. They should change the name to Buuz Mongolian Eatery! While I love Thai, Mongolian food is hard to find. Happy to discover this restaurant by Wilson near Rhodeside and Oasis Nail Salon. Just found out from the owner they've been in business for 7 years! It was recently recommended by someone who was Mongolian so I had to try it. We ordered the Bantan - Bone broth ( known for centuries to have many health benefits and healing properties) Porridge and Buuz dumplings. The porridge was super flavorful (no salty taste) and had lots of fresh thinly sliced beef. Perfect for a cold day or to nurse a cold. The famous beef dumplings -Buuz were fresh and very tasty. The order takes 20 minutes as it's made fresh. I asked for chili and got a wonderful chilli paste to go with it. The lightly pickled vegetables were perfect pairing with the dumplings. I discovered this place after parking in front of it to go to Tupelo Honey for brunch. Because it was super crowded, plan B for Buzz Thai Ratery became our choice for lunch, Small, intimate, clean and modern decor with earth tone colors of brown and green caught our attention as soon as we came in. We got a window seat with a table for four. We were greeted right away and given a colorful menu to review. My daughter and I love Thai tea and we enjoyed ours. My husband was happy to see Thai iced coffee as a choice and said it was so good. E started with some soup and appetizers and shared their fried rice with the addition of chicken. I've visited this restaurant many times. There aren't a lot of Mongolian restaurants in this area so that limits one's choices. The food is good. Mongolian food is not a complex cuisine. It's very simple and direct. Salt, pepper, onions and garlic. Buuz Thai does this well but with some caveats. Service: terrible. The waiting staff are rude and don't seem to have a lot of experience. I've experienced this with at least 4 different staff members. Deceptive pricing: Although the pricing issue is a small monetary amount, it is not posted anywhere in the restaurant. All menus available in restaurant do not show the prices they charged me. The wait staff never verbally alerted me of price differences and when I asked to speak with the owner or manager on staff I was told no one was available to speak with me on the matter. I don't expect employees to take accountability but one staff members response was "no one has complained about the prices before". ****important**** Gratuity is meant for tipped employees. The wait staff don't receive any gratuity because the management takes it all. It's my understanding that the wait staff are hourly workers. So please keep in mind if you decide to leave a tip for good service, the person that you intend to tip will not receive it, but it will instead go straight to the management/ownership. DECEPTIVE!!!! I'm sorry to give just three stars, because the flavors of the dishes here are wonderful. Unfortunately, the servings are much too small. My wife's favorite, green curry with shrimp, is amazing, but the shrimp are so few, they can't even find each other with a sonar. A good neighborhood Thai restaurant for both takeout and in-store dining, with several classic options across the menu. -- After a long week, my significant other and I came here for a nice, simple dinner for two. We have ordered DoorDash from here a few times prior, and always had solid experiences, but never dined in before. Most of the business they receive does appear to be takeout and delivery, and there were a lot of people coming in and out. There were still a few parties seated in the small eating area, both families and couples, and the tables and interior was certainly more than nice enough. Our service was friendly and prompt, and easy to get ahold of even though she was also running takeout orders. While the menu was expansive, we kept it simple and ordered off the Thai menu. We had Chicken Spring Rolls for the table, and I ordered for myself Chicken Pad Thai and Spring Rolls (my significant other ordered Curry). The food came out fast. The Spring Rolls were first - they were very simple, yet good. The Pad Thai was a sizable portion, and was everything I needed and dreamed of after a long week. I would have ideally liked it to be a bit spicier and pack a bit more of a punch flavor wise, but I also knew what to expect ordering one of the more 'common' dishes on the menu. Overall a very good experience, and a restaurant I am happy to continue to support both in person and for takeout. In the future, I would be very curious to try their Mongolian Menu, or the additional entrees off the Thai menu. read more

The crab rangoons were decent, it was a little off putting how cold the inside felt. Pad thai was great but could use a tiny bit more spice/flavor (though I loved the chicken with it). Otherwise drunken noodles were a hit. The mango sticky rice was good but half the mango they gave us was a bit brown so I was worried it was spoiled. This place is great. Walk-in and takeout welcome. No reservations needed. The parking situation is tricky, though. It might take you some time to find a spot. It is located on a busy street. The food here is great. You need to ask for the Mongolian menu, as they most likely won't give it to you straight away. I would highly recommend basically everything on that list. The buuz (similar to dumplings) is great, the khuitsai (beef vegetable soup) is amazing, the tsuivan (I don't have anything to compare this to, just try it) is very yummy, the khuushuur (meat pockets? I try to avoid late night cravings but 8pm is not late night? Right? No? Yes? Buuz has a vote from me even before this visit. It is open a little late in the area and I love that because I don't go to McDonald's or any other Fast Food places. The best thing about Buuz is that the order is prepared lightening fast and that might give you an impression that food is not great but OH MY GOD this is surprisingly good but before I start the food praise I had to commend the chefs of the place for their swiftness. *standing applause* This time I only went for buuz dumplings and I even got a potato salad with it which was super duper fabulously refreshing. Casual spot for Thai food along one of the main streets in Rosslyn. No frills place, from the decor to the service, and solid food. I went with a group of seven co-workers and, although they do not take reservations, we had no trouble getting a table around lunch time. Everyone in my group enjoyed their meal! I got an appetizer order of crispy spring rolls, which came out hot and were pretty large. I also got a green curry with tofu. The curry sauce was delicious (flavorful but not too spicy) and there was quite a bit of tofu. A few of my friends and I were hungry for food this past Sunday night and saw that Buuz Thai Eatery had free (?) and speedy delivery so we decided to give it a try. I've walked by Buuz many times in the past without giving it a second glance and I'm really glad we decided to order from here because I haven't been impressed by the Thai cuisine in the Wilson/Clarendon/Fairfax strip of Arlington. PANANAG CURRY - 14 My friend and I decided to share the curry (+1 for chicken, btw) between the two of us which was the right choice. This easily could have been two (maybe three meals) for me so the value is definitely there! I liked that they give you a good amount of chicken here. The curry itself was creamy and sweet with lots of depth from all the spice. It also comes with a small container of rice (I personally need more rice for the amount of curry). This entree was perfect for the cold weather, and I'd recommend it. It seems like they're known for the Mongolian food here. I've personally never had Mongolian food before, but have always wanted to try. I definitely want to give some of the dishes a try next time! read more

With pretty decent food with familiar Thai flavors, solid service, and a vibrant ambiance, Buuz Thai Eatery is a good, safe choice for a casual lunch. I came here with a group of six one Sunday afternoon in July; we had just left church and were struggling to find a place to eat. We stumbled upon Buuz around 2 PM and decided we might as well give it a shot -- you can never really go too wrong with Thai food, and the restaurant was pretty empty that late into the afternoon so we anticipated being able to get to our meal pretty quickly. Our predictions were a bit off -- despite being the only party in the restaurant (aside from a smattering of take-out orders that came in throughout our meal), the service was quite slow. In all fairness, our party was on the larger side, so some delays are to be expected. We ended up getting our food ~30 minutes after placing our orders. Buuz's menu was pretty standard, with all of the Thai classics. I eventually settled on their tofu pad see ew, one of my favorites at any Thai restaurant. Their noodles were perfectly cooked, retaining their wonderfully springy texture while still being soft and just all-around comfort in a bowl. The broccoli was also delightful, retaining the slightest bit of crunch. I'm honestly disappointed they didn't add a few extra florets of broccoli in with the noodles! And the tofu was crispy on the outside but soft and pillowy in the center. The tofu, being the absolute sponge of an ingredient that it is, soaked up all of the super flavorful stir-fry sauce (and the rest got absorbed by the noodles). This is normally super exciting -- after all, who doesn't love a good flavor bomb -- but was, strangely, one of the biggest downsides of Buuz's pad see ew. The dish was extremely salty, which was a bit of a disappointment to an otherwise near-perfect dish. I ended up drinking two or three full glasses of water with the half plate of pad see ew I ate that day, and still felt a bit overly salinated. Even so, a little bit of extra hydration has never hurt anyone and the dish was otherwise solid. Beyond the service and the food, I also appreciated Buuz's design and atmosphere. The walls were vibrant orange and yellow, and the no-frills decor was simple but cute. The color combination and decorations they did include made the entire restaurant feel warm and welcoming, and the perfect place to fill my belly with comforting, delicious Thai food. read more

I love the tsuivan - the beef noodle stir fry - as well as many of the other items. I'm not accustomed to the savory milk tea but from what I can tell, people from Mongolia or familiar with the cuisine order it a lot! Ordered the app Yum woonsen, a spicy, salty, and sour noodle salad dish. Wow, it really kicks you in the butt. It's so flavorful and delicious. 5/5 I also ordered the duck ka prow. The flavors of the duck ka prow were great but the duck was pretty dry. It didn't taste fresh and, I don't know if it's because no one really orders the duck, but I was a bit disappointed. So I would rate it a 3/5. That being said, I'm sure they sell noodle dishes the most and I have no doubt that they make those dishes with a lot of flavor give my small experience with the yum woonsen. In terms of service, the food came out pretty quick and they looked quite busy with take out orders. There were a couple of people in the restaurant as well. Their pad Thai was a bit overly seasoned. I just didn't enjoy my food. The customer service needs to be improved. They're kind of mean. *** I ordered food for delivery. It was a simple order. Chicken Thai fried rice and taro bubble tea. I even added a 15% tip for the delivery man. After delivering my order 15 min. late past the delivery time window (about 1.5 hrs. from the time I paid on Yelp), they delivered my rice, but there was no $4 taro bubble tea in sight. I tried to stop the delivery man who was in a rush to leave to explain that I ordered bubble tea as well. He tried to say I didn't, but when I showed him my payment and order on the Yelp app, he said he'll "talk to the guy and bring it to me later". It's been over 30 min. and I still have no bubble tea. I called Grubhub. They refunded me. Thanks Grubhub for making things right. As far as the fried rice goes, I am disappointed I was made to wait this long for fried rice that didn't even taste good. We were initially intrigued by this restaurant because it mentioned "free spring rolls with purchase of drunken noodle." When inquiring about this deal, the waitress was confused and had to go outside and make several phone calls to double check that it was legit. After waiting for her to verify, we alas ordered our meal. The chicken in the green curry chicken was very dry. Additionally, the drunken noodles were overly salty. I ordered pick up from this place last night. I love Thai food and was excited to try another new Thai place. The restaurant is fairly small but very modern and calm inside. On a Thursday night, it wasn't very busy and the take out was ready in about 25 minutes. We ordered two entrees, drunken noodles with chicken and Thai basil fried rice also with chicken. These two are my go-to at Thai restaurants so I was interested to see how it would compare. The basil fried rice was SO GOOD! This was my favorite basil fried rice I've tried yet. It is slightly oily but the flavors in this rice were just too good compared to others I've tried. The peppers were delicious and the chicken was also cooked well. 10/10 would order this dish again, and make it a level spicer too but beware this dish was fairly spicy already. The drunken noodle dish was also a hit. It was cooked and tasted pretty much how any other drunken noodle I've tried. I also wanted to try their milk tea because that's the best combo with Thai food but unfortunately they ran out this night.
