Thoroughly Impressive. This was my first visit to Animal Hospital and the staff managed my 13 year…read moreold shiba inu with competent expertise. Based on knowing the breed's challenging traits, the vet used effective techniques to handle my shiba and successfully completed the task at hand. The vet spent quite a bit of time in the examination room getting to know my dog, to get my dog acclimated and to stay calm. Great and thorough communication with the staff all around, from the front desk to the intake and examination. Literally, a weight has been lifted off my shoulders regarding a veterinary clinic that knows how to handle a shiba inu and that my dog's needs are met. Thank you so very much Animal Hospital

From the moment I arrived, the front staff was incredibly helpful and professional. The fact that they took such a liking to my 8.5-year-old Chihuahua mix made me even happier. Once we were in the exam room, the vet tech was thorough and kind, and the veterinarian was absolutely wonderful, caring, and professional. I was especially touched by the way you handled the concern regarding my dog's recently developed heart murmur. The vet brought her to be checked by three other veterinarians on the team to get their input. I truly value that you didn't jump to conclusions and instead consulted with colleagues you trust to find the best answers. I only wish I had brought my pup to the Animal Hospital of Sebastopol much sooner. You have a great team that clearly cares about their patients.

Dr. Sue Boynton is the best veterinarian I've ever taken my dogs to. She takes her time with each…read moredog and has awesome communication skills. She also goes above and beyond. For example, last year my dog had an ear infection. The power was out in our county and I could not find a vet for my dog. Even though Dr. Boynton had a full schedule, she squeezed in my dog and spent a lot of time with her. I also love the design of the interior. Dogs awaiting their treatment/visits come in one door and those who are leaving, exit through another passage and door. This is such a smart design. Dr. Boynton's staff is also wonderful. If you're looking for a vet or want to make a change, this vet is the one to make an appointment with.

Great service in the past that I would have given 5 stars too but recently they have really gone…read moredownhill. Firstly, Id like to note that the hours posted online for their business are not accurate so keep that in mind for scheduling. I made an appointment over the phone last week for today at 1:30 February 14th. I bought a dog friendly Uber to get there half an hour early for the appointment, and they are closed. I assumed they were just on lunch. I wait until 2pm and there is no one in the parking lot, the phone goes straight to voicemail, no sign of any staff. No notice of cancelation of the appointment in my voicemail or email. Then I spend another $30 something dollars getting back home in another Uber all for an appointment I made that they didn't show up for. Extremely disappointed and upset. Over $60+ in dog Ubers all for nothing.

Saying goodbye to my sweet Ollie at 18.5 years old was one of the hardest things I've ever faced…read more The team at Wine Country Veterinary Hospital met me with compassion, patience, and understanding every step of the way. I scheduled and canceled Ollie's euthanasia appointment four different times because I just wasn't ready, and they never once made me feel guilty or pressured. They even allowed me to arrive and then back out when I couldn't go through with it. That level of kindness and humanity is something I will never forget. When the time finally came, they gave Ollie such a peaceful, dignified passing, and gave me the space and support I needed. I also want pet owners to be aware that many veterinary clinics today are owned by VCA Animal Hospitals, which is part of Mars Corp. the same company behind well-known candy brands. Since that corporate takeover, many practices have become more expensive with vets and staff paid commissions on what procedures they sell! Wine Country Veterinary Hospital is independent and not owned by VCA/Mars, and it truly shows not only in their fair pricing, but in the genuine, heartfelt care they give. I am deeply grateful to have found a place that still puts compassion first. Thank you for helping me through one of the most painful moments of my life.

They listen to us and treated the bird well. They professionally trimmed his beak (several times now) and we always got the bird back in a relaxed state. At other places we got him back bleeding or in shock. Vet and techs really seems to care for the animals and so far we have not been pressured to constantly get a checkup with the beak trimming, like in many other places.
