The waiting room was the cleanest that I have ever experienced in a small shop like this. They had water and seltzer in a mini fridge. They also had a Kurig for coffee. I left and remembered seeing this little garage listed on Yelp, "Dave's Garage" and that's where I headed. Dave was by himself today and some guy had an appointment so he politely said, pull the Buick in, the guy is a half hour late already. He took the tire off, repaired it and proceeded to tell me his stories. He has had quite a past. But he has been operating in Venice for 19 years. As he finished the repair and another story, he said $20 sir. I gave him $25 and said $20 for the repair and a small tip for entertaining me today. All I can say is this guy is the real deal; a throwback to my childhood 60+ years ago when I used to hang out at McWilliams Garage near my house. Honest, highly qualified, and full of life's stories. He's a great mechanic and a good person.

The manager upsold me a wiper replacement for my 2011 Mercedes. While traveling on the interstate this past Wednesday in a rainstorm on the way to Miami, the passenger side wiper blade flew off. I continued through the rainstorm with no driver side wiper. The next day I had it replaced by a Mercedes repair shop in Miami. The shop charged me $50.00. The shop told me that the wiper assembly that the Nokomis store sold me was not an appropriate replacement assembly for that car. I went into the Nokomis store today thinking that under the circumstances a $50.00 credit would be offered to me for what I spent on the new wiper blades. The manager refused this, only offering a $20.00 credit. I would put this in the category of poor customer service and faulty business logic as my wife and I will not be returning to that shop for future tire replacement.
