When I moved here 2010, I was lucky enough to have a neighbor recommend C & D Auto Care. I was very impressed that they told me what was wrong with my car, what was absolutely necessary, and what could wait. They go out of their way to serve their customers. These guys are honest and do great work. They stand behind their work. On one occasion I had the a problem with my old car, they immediately fixed it, reminded me they had fixed it before, and charged nothing for the repair. I don't have to keep my receipts and records to prove that I had such and such done. They have the records, know what was done, and if it is still under warranty. I brought a truck I was thinking of buying for a pre-purchase inspection and the guys did a very thorough job of it! Checked every nook and cranny, noticed things that I would never have been able to know without their inspection. Although the truck was in really great shape and only have minor issues, they did give me some bargaining chips when making the purchase - thanks guys! Got me a really nice used truck! In addition to the fact that there was a complete lack of cordiality and customer service (it appeared to be a chore to go through the process of taking my hundreds of hard earned dollars), at my scheduled appointment for a tune-up, the apathetic man behind the counter proceeded to tell me that tune-ups don't exist anymore and that I needed to tell him what I wanted done to my car. Wtf? I may be woman but I'm not an idiot. Needless to say, I took my keys back, got the f out of there and promptly made an appointment with a friendly and helpful local competitor for a tune-up that does exist. read more

This place is run by a bunch of theives! They charged me over $800 to fix my air conditioner and I later found out all they did was replace a fan. More recently they charged me $50 for a diagnostic check when my car over heated. They told me I had blown a head gasket, hoses and valves were cracked and leaking, I needed a new timing belt (which they were supposed to have replaced when they did the ac), I needed a new water pump, and an exhaust manifold. This all totalling over $3000!!! I could not afford this and knew from my experience with other cars that there was no way I had blown a head gasket. I had my car towed somewhere else. The other place not only did the dignostic for free, but the only thing causing the car to over heat was a leak in a hose. That hose along with a couple others were replaced for $200. I went back to C & D, demanded my money back and have filed many complaints... I would NEVER take my car there again!!! I am a young woman who they thought knew nothing about cars and they could get a lot of money from... Think again! read more

My experience was a few years ago.......I had been going to C & D auto for years and had been taking both of my vehicles there for repairs . It's very close to home and was happy with the work. I took my dodge SUV in for a minor repair and was told by the mechanic that my master cylinder was leaking and needed replace .The car was about 6 years old but only had about 45,000 as it was my weekend vehicle . I thought this was strange to need replacing and the car wasn't that old. The cost was $900 . I normally would have Dara just do the work because I trusted him but thought I would get a 2nd opinion this time as it didn't feel right. I took my car down the street to another repair shop where I had been a couple of times before and asked them to look look at the brakes without mention of the master cylinder at all. They told me that although my brakes are close to needing to being replaced that had another 5,000 miles . When I asked about the master cylinder they said it was fine. I never replaced the master cylinder .I have never been back and will never go back. You all can form your own opinion from this review but my opinion is that I was being taken......understand what your paying for and get a 2nd opinion. read more

My car had stalled in a very frightening way on the freeway late at night driving back to San Diego from Redlands. We had to tow it home. We thought it was a transmission issue and when we took it to a transmission mechanic. (Summit-Jerry was great, too.) He thought it may be a problem outside of that. He told us he would take it to a guy he has used for a long time period. That guy was Dara at C and D Auto Care. He was right. It was a fuel pump issue. Dara and Bobby were awesome. I have been getting my cars repaired here for a number of years and I feel guilty for not writing a review before now. But this last visit could not be ignored. I brought my car in for a repair and Dara followed all the specs by the manufacturer and still had same the problem. He personally worked on my car himself and kept working on it with his years of experience until he found a work around to fix it. I had taken my vehicle to another repair place to have the brakes done. Had to take it back 4 times, kept paying more money to have more replaced and it still was not driving correctly. I took it to C and D, to get another opinion, and they stripped down my brakes, and called me to come down and see what they found. Even though my rear brakes were brand new, I had already worn one side down 25 percent. After a brake adjustment, it turns out I had been driving for weeks, with my brakes applied 100% of the time. My vehicle had no driving power because of that. C and D fixed my problem, and even though they spent a lot of time and labor discovering my problem, I was only charged for a brake adjustment. I have used these guys for my Jeep. Dependable and reasonable. Most of all, very high integrity. Recently took my Jeep in for a front end clunking sound. They thought it might be a worn part which would have been a $600 job. But they also said because of the symptoms, it should be looked at by a shop they recommended that specialized in frame and steering alignment before I should pay for the repairs. My wife and I just relocated to the Las Mesa area and were in need of finding a good local repair shop (front end suspension issues and brake light coming on). We have a Suburu wagon and a Kia Sportage. I did some searching online and read really good things about C&D so decided to give them a try. Best decision I've ever made! These guys are great! C&D is a local family owned business with both Dara and his son, Bobby running the show. They quickly diagnosed my problem, assured me that nothing was wrong with the brakes, fixed the front end issue (replaced the control arm) and I was on my way. It's always hard to find a good dependable, honest repair shop that you can go to without feeling like you've been ripped off. Bobby took great care in explaining to me what the problem was with my car and what it would cost to fix it. He even printed out helpful diagrams of the part that needed replacement and even showed me the actual faulty part when it came off the car. I can't say enough good things about C&D.
