Store front - C&D Grocery and Bakery Inc.: Baytown, Texas

One simply does not come here if they're on a diet, BUT every once in a while, I think its okay to indulge in one of their greasy tacos wrapped around a warm, homemade flour tortilla. Not only is C&D known for their deliciously, dangerous, greasy tacos but this Mexican mini store is equipped with their own bakery and taco shop. The store itself is painted very colorful outside (you can't miss it) and once inside, you notice pictures of what I assume to be the owner of this establishment with many famous Hispanic athletes, as well as several of what seem to be, his children and/or grandchildren - well his family in general. The bakery offers you a small range of your typical Mexican pan dulce and right next to the glass display cabinet, you'll find the lineup of meats such as fajitas, barbacoa, carne asada and even chicharróns con chile. They also have other fillers such as rice, beans, bacon, nacho cheese, and your common red and green sauces. If you have an opportunity to swing by in the morning, be prepared to stand in line for their coveted breakfast tacos filled with the usual eggs and ham, eggs and potatoes, and even barbacoa. What really makes these tacos standout is the fact, that they use homemade flour tortillas. However, over the past few years, they have had an issue with management and for a while there, they were D&D but apparently, they are back to C&D. Hopefully, they can exceed their expectations and get back on track. Last but not least, reason why I like stopping by C&D is because they offer all the local Spanish newspapers in conjoined stands; helping moi from running around town to get each one. So thanks C&D!!

I have been visiting this Taqueria for over 25 years! So many good times with friends and family have been shared while eating a C&d's taco. This is the bar that I've based all other taquerias that I have visited. It's perfect.. I do miss the old location that burned down.. but the food taste just the same at the new one. Total neighborhood whole in the wall. No indoor seating.. no side dishes.. just tacos and tamales.. and on the weekend they have menudo that will cure any hangover #eatthelocals

While i love this kroger, mostly have had good experiences with the staff, the cashier today was one of the rudest i've ever had the displeasure of being checked out with. I'll give it to her, maybe it was a bad day, maybe she was supposed to be off shift a while ago, but no matter the reason I don't think anything gives a worker the right to be downright rude to a customer. Trust me, I work in the service industry, but no matter how tired or upset i was at something else have i treated any of my guests like that. Michelle was her name, and there were four customers in line. The first in line was an elderly man, with a scooter type cart, and he had stood up to check out. Once his total was given he was asked for a kroger's account or number. After he gave his number, she told him his total, but he didn't hear correctly so he redid the last 4 of his number. She said "i already got that, your total is ---". he in a joking yet kind of serious way said "are you mad at me" she said "no i'm doing my job and telling you your total" in a nasty tone he said okay and that interaction was finished. the next two ladies (together) in line even turned around after that and looked at me saying "well she just really took it out on him huh" and i responded "yeah it was pretty rude". she was huffing and puffing checking them out, and had to go get change. when she asked another employee for help and the other employee said something along the lines of "why is your register still open" she responded "because it's like every time i move more people want to show up". excuse us for having more than 10 items and not wanting to hold up the self checkout, not even mentioning the fact that she is the only register open. the two ladies in front could tell she was getting upset and said "if you want to hand me the scanner i can scan this 12 pack" where she responded "no i got it." lastly, me. i had a handheld cart so i just put it on the slidey thing for her to grab items out of, where she grabbed the first two items then dumped the rest out. didn't speak to me the entire time until it was time for my number and total. anyways, all this to say she needs to work on her customer service or be put somewhere she doesn't interact with guests if that's how she's going to treat them. me and the two ladies can take it, but yelling at an elderly for no reason other than yourself being upset is incredibly inappropriate and uncalled for behavior.
