Horrible communication as well as taking in a car that they last minute decided they no longer wanted to work on because "it wasn't worth it". Lost a lot of money for absolutely no good reason. Phenomenal service. I went to McDonald Auto Body with a busted Audi A4 fender and Lauren, Mary, and Chris took fantastic care of me from the moment I walked in to the day I walked out with a car that looked dealership-fresh. Lauren provided friendly and professional customer service, Mary worked hard sourcing the least expensive, but quality parts from the four comers of Morris County, and Chris took the time to explain all the processes involved. While my car was in the shop, I got frequent and welcome calls to update me on the service and check in with any unforeseen adjustments to the invoice due to issues not identified during the initial once-over inspection. Ended up out the door for under $2K, which was truly remarkable. Can't recommend highly enough. read more

Chose to come here a few months ago to get my side panel/bumper repaired after someone backed into my Infiniti. Great experience in and out! For people with shitty discount insurance like myself, take your car anywhere else. My car was there for a month and a half, periodically they would call and tell me it would be ready at a later date, it never was. And when it finally was ready no one called me, I drove in their unannounced and picked it up. There was a scratch on the back fender and rim that I don't believe was there when I gave them the car and was very clear about that. They said it was already there and after a month and a half I said whatever, I'll take it. I have another set of rims and this was my knock around anyway. The stress of me having to leave my car there EVEN LONGER was not worth it. The entire hood is orange peeled, this is when too many mills (mm) of clear coat is applied and the coating will make it look like the skin of an orange. They did however replace a mirror that I provided and painted it for free. (Knocked off before accident) The mirror came out good. That was a nice thing for them to do, but keep in mind the reason I got that favor was because of what they lacked in service. So if you are going to get something like a mirror sprayed, they could handle it. A hood, or anthing major; go anywhere else. Literally anywhere. I would have the car towed to Pennsylvania before I ever went back to that awful place on Dumont. I would like to add the fact that the body shop took the hood off of my car and saw no problem with leaving my 2015 wrx outside for over a month. I now have top rust all over the engine, I found this only because I was upgrading my radiator. read more

GO ANYWHERE ELSE, THESE PEOPLE ARE ROBBERS AND KILLERS I got my car repaired from these degenerate low-lifes about a year ago due to an unfortunate accident with a raccoon. They gave me a more expensive estimate than the one my normal shop in DC gave me and would not match it, however I was fine with it as I was in a hurry to get back on the road and back home without causing a scene. Upon getting the car back, I noticed the front bumper was VERY loose and barely hanging on. They told me my car had aftermarket parts and this was 'typical' (also that they could take "no responsibility" since there was aftermarket parts) but it would never come off or suffer any damage without an impact. Fast forward a few months, I took my car to my local shop for an oil change where they proceeded to tell me the only aftermarket parts were in the back of the car, and that whoever did my front bumper "did a very lazy job" and that they "probably just wanted to charge you the same price for less parts replaced". Furious, I stormed all the way back just to get the same response, despite me calling it BS. I decided this was a losing battle with sleezy jersey scam artists-I mean "mechanics"- and left. Fast forward a few weeks, my bumper, without any impact, FLIES OFF THE HIGHWAY AND ALMOST KILLED MY GIRLFRIEND, MYSELF, AND OUR PUPPY. These people aren't just scam artists, there the worst pieces of garbage this planet has to offer. It's not worth the risk, GO ANYWHERE ELSE BUT "C AND L AUTO SCAMMERS" read more

They did hack job work on my high end sports car and basically cut corners everywhere: -Instead of using the proper fasteners for my car they drilled a screw straight through 2 parts to hold them together. -Paint job was done sloppily and had build ups of paint that looks like waves or dents. I had them re-do it and they didn't bother to blend the panels. It doesn't match -They put a chip in my side mirror -They mounted the fender too close to the door so the paint scraped off upon opening it. - Right after having a brand new fender painted and installed, I found a chip in it which they had obviously covered with a blob of touch up paint. - They cracked the fastening holes on my new fender by over-tightening the screws. I got them to fix some of the problems by going back time and time again. At this point I am through wasting time with this shop and wont let them touch my car another second for fear they will just screw something else up. read more

I have many reasons why not to go to McDonald's Autobody. -Very poor customer service, never contacted me, even when I tried to pick up my car on the due date -Repairs went way over estimated completion day, went from 1 month to 2.5 months -Car was damaged from the repairs, had to take it to another shop to fix the damages - Parts were misinstalled that caused more damages - Did not use parts that were required by insurance company - Did not know about some parts, did not install or did not look up -Things were missing, personal items were gone I highly advice to use another shop!!! read more

I had been a loyal customer of C &L for several years because the work was satisfactory and the location was convenient. However, they have lost my business permanently because of my consistently negative experiences with their secretary, Kathy, who has been rude, aggressively impatient and downright demeaning on the phone and in person. Her nasty attitude towards me on the phone today was the last straw as she angrily interrupted and gave me false information based upon prior experience and then receiving confirmation from Sergio of Chatham Auto Body where I am taking my business because he was kind, patient, and truthful about a very stressful situation wherein my truck bumper was seriously damaged by a hit and run driver. C &L will not be able to compete for new and most importantly repeat customers if they do not make a change to their front desk staff's (Kathy) abhorrent lack of courtesy and professionalism. read more

We have brought out cars there for the past 11 years whenever we need body work done. Since we live in Morristown and park on the street we have had our cars hit periodically during the night by hit and run drunk drivers. We call it the Morristown Special. Mcdonald auto body has always been great with dealing with the insurance companies. They do great work, are friendly and professional. We highly recommend them. read more

(Now C&L Auto Body) First of all, I have to say that I was nervous after hearing horror stories from going to an auto body shop someone doesn't know. My parents use someone who's too far away, so this place was convenient for me and my coworker said they did a good job with her car. From the start, they were so incredibly nice and easy to work with. They worked well with my insurance company, called for my rental car and all. Lauren at the front desk kept me posted via email and phone calls (she responded to emails very quick). It did take a few days longer than they originally estimated, but the work they did on my car is perfect! I had a minor front end collision, but the entire hood and grill needed to be replaced. The paint is blended perfectly and it looks like new. They even took care of some duct-tape residue that was on my side window from when it was broken months ago - didn't even mention that or ask them to take care of it! Overall, great experience. Easy to work with. Couldn't tell you how their prices compare to other places, but my insurance seemed ok with their estimate. Thank you! read more

I brought in my car to get an estimate for one thing, they then gave me an estimate for something entirely different. I felt like I wasted my time leaving my car there because they didn't look at a thing I wanted them to. However, Dennis was pretty helpful after I explained this. He took the time to ride in my car with me to see what the real issue was and offered me some advice on fixing it despite it not being an auto body issue after all. He even put my front grill back in place without me having to ask. All of this was done 100% free of charge. My overall rating of them is just okay. C&L Auto Body called to say my vehicle was ready for pick up. I picked up the car and drove back to work. I noticed the driver side door had a very loud sound when opening and closing it. The driver door has a switch that operates the opening of the trunk and the switch was completely non-functioning. In addition, the driver side door seems to be letting in a lot of noise from the outside which has never happened before (the cabin was very quiet before this). I then called the adjuster from my auto insurance company (Progressive) to relay the information and see what further steps I should take. He advised me to bring the car back to the shop for repairs. The next day I drove the car to the shop in the afternoon. The workers proceeded to look at my car and as I started to point out where the problems were, Chuck, the owner/supervisor caught a very nasty attitude towards me and told me to "be quiet, we got this." His attitude towards me only aided in my frustration and told me to "wait inside" while they looked at the car further. I walked into the waiting area of the shop to wait for Chuck. The secretary asked me if I needed anything and I responded with "I want to wait for Chuck so I can ask him a question" and she told me to wait. I waited for him to come out and asked him "How could you put a malfunctioning part on my car and tell me my car is ready?" Chuck grew very angry, avoided my question and answered me with "we will take care of it." I asked why he was giving me an attitude and he responded with "why are you giving me one?" I responded with "I am just trying to figure out why you expected me to be okay with this repair and I want to know what the process is here before you call costumers to let them know their vehicle is ready." He was not pleased, grew angrier, and signaled me to leave. I was taken back by the way I was treated. I felt discriminated, robbed, lied to and want everyone to know what this shop did to my car and my moral state of being. read more

My insurance company notified me that my vehicle was totaled based on the damage but when they went to get my vehicle McDonald's Auto Body had done 80% of the work - UNAUTHORIZED WORK!! The insurance company had no choice at that point but to pay for the vehicle to be repaired. I am informed the legal department of my insurance company is looking into potential suit as they had no authorization whatsoever to begin work on the vehicle. The level of customer service is extremely lacking as well. Charlie who is apparently the shop manager is rude and very short. They obviously are trying to pad their pockets but if your looking for honesty DO NOT go here! read more

They have expanded and relocated, bright and comfy waiting area. Staff are friendly. But even though it is a GEICO Express place, they are very slow in the repair, in my opinion as a consumer. I have had delays before. But what bothers me most is that this time I needed my car back before I leave the country. They know it, and GEICO knows it, No one, and I mean NO ONE, bothered to tell me that my car would not be finished on time due to a delay in getting a small part in while the rest of the work is done. Luckily I decided to check up on the progress and found this out the day before the anticipated completion date. I started making phone calls left and right, and finally again by luck I talked to Jane who was the only person who had the sense of urgency and really helped me get my car back, one day late, with one hour to spare before my scheduled airport pickup. I am very disappointed in both the body shop and GEICO, regarding the lack of urgency and common sense to communicate to a customer when the car would not be completed on time. Customers need to rearrange their lives when their cars are in the shop and any delay would necessitate further rearrangements. Maybe next time I would pay a little more out of my own pocket to get the car fixed in a more timely manner in a different, non-GEICO Express body shop closer to my house. read more
