Nick from C&N, along with many other contractors were in our area dropping off flyers for roof inspections. It wasn't until I spoke with one of his satisfied customers (my neighbor) that I gave him a call for the free inspection. I was nervous about the whole process at that point and watched everything he did while he was up on my roof. He pointed out the dents on my vents and gutters and explained how it was evident that hail had been through the area and suggested that I file a claim with my insurance due to the quantity of shingles that were affected. Nick said C&N would work with my insurance company and "speak the language" to each other about the damage he saw when he was up there. If the claim got approved, he said he would ensure it all gets handled appropriately. We called my insurance company together on speakerphone ... they took down my information and told me an inspector would call me to set a date. At that point, Nick showed me the C&N contract that stated I would use them as my contractor if the claim was approved (this made sense to me because they were already doing work by speaking with my insurance and by being present the day of inspection). I was able to text Nick the inspection date and he arrived, on time, with his boss to ensure it went smoothly. My insurance company is known for being one of the most frugal in their awards, so Nick's boss went up with them to help point out the damages and ensure the inspector noted them. Both C&N and my insurer took pictures while they were up there to document the damages for future use. The inspector drew his test squares (areas they use for assessment of damage which can, conveniently, exclude some of the singles in question), and send the pictures back to my insurer. After they came down, the inspector had me Face Time with the adjustor and I was told I'd get a call back with their analysis. My deductible was $1,000 and in total they said that there was enough damage to my roof to approve about $2,700 of repairs. I was not happy with this assessment so I told the adjustor to put my claim on hold. He said I had to either accept or refuse it, he was pushing me to accept it and suggested that we later file a supplement for the remaining costs of replacement (close to 10k), which I said was not acceptable. The claim was put on hold and I called Nick to tell him the news, he said that some companies will do this at first glance and that if I wasn't happy with it that I had the right to file for a re-inspection (I didn't know I could do that because the adjustor didn't give me that option, I was happy Nick knew the process). Nick said it was best that I request a reinspection by someone who is an actual employee of my insurer. After being re-assigned to another adjustor for no apparent reason, I told them I'd like a re-inspection with an employee and had Nick email in the additional photos of the damage we saw. They received the photos and reinspection was scheduled. This time, the proper employee of my insurer showed up with a "ladder assist" who was the one that went up on the roof. We showed them which test squares to use this time, which they did, and I got approved for a full replacement. Nick explained the quote/cost for the replacement, including what the insurance would pay and what I would need to pay (deductible for most people), then went through next steps which were to get the permits from the city and to make my first payment which was the same amount the insurance company released to me... or about a third of the total cost. After looking into the top 10 mistakes contractors make when installing a roof, I learned about High/Low nailing, drip edges, ice/water shields, proper ventilation, over/under driven nails, ridge caps, and other such roofing lingo. I told Nick I had a few more questions before they started construction, so I emailed them to him (as wordy as this review no doubt). He answered all of them and postponed the installation until confirming my understanding. The installers they use came out to begin work at 8AM on Monday, they finished by 4PM that same day. I watched them carefully and have photos to prove proper nailing and installation was done. The approval of the install and the warranty took about 48 hours. At that point the final invoice was given to me, the same amount we agreed upon after approval. I made the last payment and have a beautiful new roof (mine was 15 years old) which I trust will last another 30 years. I had a severe hailstorm damage in Oak Lawn and almost fell victim to a very convincing roofing broker who came out instead of a representative of the firm that I found and called on Angies list. I noticed that when he gave me his business card after I declined to sign a contract he quickly wrote up after he reviewed the Allstate adjusters estimate of damage. He became aggressive when I told him that I wanted a day to think about it and not sign the contract on the roof of his car. I called a close friend and he referred me to Paul Boulahanis. He came over promptly, revising the claim and recommended some changes. The work included roof repair, the replacement of all aluminum siding, downspouts and gutters. We both agreed that black trim would really feature the house. He calmly assured me of the experience that he had with working with Allstate. There was no pressure and he explained the whole process, the documents and the timeline. It was in the late fall. Paul told me that Allstate would allow a grace period for winter. I called Paul in Early April inquiring about a start date. In a week, the crew arrived to measure for the total length of the gutters. The material arrived later that Friday and the work began, after a nice call from Andrew, the sales manager. Two Korean men worked 13 hours that Friday and returned at 8 in the morning on Saturday for another 8 hours. Cui and his partner were so focused, meticulous and skilled, their craftsmanship was impeccable. Cui's son and partner completed the gutter and downspout work. Both crews worked neatly and cleaned up nicely every night. Matt from C & N, the materials manager checked in on the phone, and I received a visit from Mike, the project manager on site on Saturday, to chat with the crew and making sure that I was happy. I sent in the final invoice emailed to me and sent it to Allstate. I received my depreciation check in a few days shortly after the job was completed. I checked in with Paul and that was that. C&N Construction (Hillside, IL) was in my neighborhood last spring and the contractor, Michael, approached me about taking a look at my roof and siding for hail and wind damage to my house and garage. I have lived in my home for several years and hadn't considered repairing or replacing the roof and siding. I'm so glad I decided to see if I had damage because I did and needed a new roof and siding. Mike was outstanding in explaining the siding and roof damage around my house and garage and went to work with my insurance carrier to fully replace everything. Initially my insurance company did not want to do full replacement, but Mike went above and beyond in working with them for full coverage approval. He was very thorough in providing additional photos as proof of damage and explaining to my insurance that I needed roof and siding totally replace. My insurance approved the full replacement and my home looks brand new! I'm very pleased with the outcome and the envy of my neighbors. So much so that I referred C&N to my neighbor, and she was able to get her roof replaced. Customer service is SO important to me and Mike has great customer service skills and cares about meeting the needs of his clients and staying in contact throughout the process. This was my first time dealing with a construction company to replace my roof and siding and the process couldn't have gone smoother. Wanted to think that these guys were more than your common sales rep trying to make a quick buck, but this is just what they turned out to be. If it were possible to leave less than 1 star this would be my first review I have ever typed that I would want to do so. What really upset me the most is the sales rep shows up at your door after going house to house and then noticed I was a military veteran and tried to play that to his advantage also to get us to go with them. So after sitting for a while my wife and I said sure, why not. He called our insurance on the spot to file the claim and they scheduled an adjuster to come out and inspect the roof a few days later. At the same time we also wanted to have an extension built off of our front door to cover from rain and snow and again the salesman was all helpful and said he would measure and send us an estimate. Well the insurance came and said that it only needed repaired and not the entire roof replaced and this company was like a ghost in the night. Never heard back from anyone once they found out they couldn't take our insurance money and run. So my advice to you if you are reading this, please do your own research and look into a company first before doing any work with them. You work hard for your money and do not need to be handing it over to someone that is willing to rob and conduct business as my wife and I were treated by these people. Got a call from Michael who tells me he got my phone number from "a compatriot company" but what that actually meant was, I called about storm damage and C&N is a KNOW STORM CHASER COMPANY. In the first three minutes of the conversation he told me that "they don't do repairs just whole roofs, then when I admitted that I already called my insurance company he INSTANTLY changed his tune to "I HAVE TO BE THERE TO PROTECT YOU!" I don't even know this guy or his company but now I have an advocate. What a bunch of BS. He smelled money. They have some ridiculous Google rating and here's something amazing...so do many other Roofing Companies...Which is very very odd. Since one of those companies is a huckster criminal who is under constant litigation and is crooked as your great great grandmother's spine. He has a seriously suspicious excellent rating on Google as well...huh...hmmm....interesting. I did some digging. At least Yelp has some more honest comments, though I bet this has been worked over as well. These companies have obviously paid an offshore (India, Pakistan, Nigeria, Arab Emirates, or China) company to clean up their google rating and to up their SEO. Meaning, they LIE and pretend to be a good company. I wouldn't touch C&N Construction with a storm damaged fifty foot 2x4. read more

C&N Construction arrived in July 2022 to offer free inspection of the damaged roof at my property. After inspecting it was determined that a full roof replacement would be needed, and also restorative work inside on the first floor due to roof leakage inside. My insurance company worked directly with my reps from C&N, Ian and Maria, who were FANTASTIC. Working with Ian and Maria was a great experience, both were friendly and caring to make sure my needs were met. Materials were dropped on a Friday evening shortly after signing the contract, and work commenced that immediate Monday following. The installation crew was exceptionally prompt, clean, and removed ALL debris from the install. In 2023 January, C&N returned to my home to repair the first floor ceiling which had leakage from the prior roof damage. The restoration crew did a great job while maintaining a quiet and clean environment. They were able to remove all the damaged ceiling and blend repairs extremely well followed by fresh paint. I am thoroughly happy with the outcome of this project. Grateful Ian rang my doorbell summer of 2022 to help fix this outstanding issue for me. All I can say is Thank You C&N for having the fortitude to hire Marino. He inspected my roof and found hail damage. He did all the work to file the claim with the insurance company. He met with the insurance adjuster and was diligent in following up with them. They did deny my claim. It was upsetting but Marino did not forget me. We had another hail and wind storm in June and Marino came my door asking if he could give it another try. I was great full that he had the determination to resubmit a claim. This time the damage was such that it could not be repaired as my particular roof and color single was no longer available. The insurance adjuster gave it 100% approval for roof replacement, as well as replacing my sky light. Marino was wonderful. He walked me through the entire process. You are lucky to have such a marvelous employee. The roofing staff was wonderful. They finished the entire project in one day and did a remarkable job cleaning up afterwards. I had a great experience with C&N Construction. I had looked into repairing my roof before but had always had concerns with the companies that came around my neighborhood to inspect roofs for damage. I felt very comfortable and knowledgeable the entire time. The person I dealt with the entire time was Mike Laroche. From the very beginning he was able to make the entire process very easily understandable and kept me informed of every step along the way. The thing that really stood out is that he was available any time I had a question about anything and was able to answer quickly and thoroughly. The roof itself came out amazing. This review is for a roof replacement. I worked with Maria. She was very knowledgeable and answered all of my questions. She worked with my insurance company. The process went smoothly. On December 14, 2022, C&N Construction (Hillside) delivered the roofing materials. The next morning, the crew arrived early. They completed a full roof replacement on the house and garage. I was concerned about nails falling onto my neighbor's driveway and into my backyard (because of my dog). They were done at approximately 5pm. They did an awesome job of cleaning up, after they were done. A week after my roof was done, there were strong winds. Some of the shingles were floating up and down as the wind blew. I texted Maria. She responded right away. A couple of days later, Montes fixed the issue. Since the temperature didn't get warm enough, the roof didn't seal properly. It takes a few months for the roof to set properly. My roof looks great! I am a happy customer. Maria kept me well informed through the entire process. I would recommend C&N Construction to anyone. If I can give a 0 I would. The roof is fine. But a manager backed into my mailbox(not the issue) and put it back in the hole like everything was fine. Or like a child trying to cover up something they did wrong. This manager said he was going to get someone out to get it fixed. 4 days later I had to call to have them get someone out to fix it. The next day when someone finally came out to fix it , it looked like a drunk person tried to fix it's nowhere near straight and one of the four boxes was so loose it was not on the ground. I talked to someone Friday to get it fixed the right way. Well no one did and they say now someone will be out tomorrow. I have never had to deal with one little issue for so long. Not mad he backed into it. Things happen no big deal. I am really upset by how long it is taking to get this fixed. Something has to be done. All I get is I understand, brother sorry for the inconvenience. DON'T BE SORRY FIX IT. I will never go with there company again for any project. read more

My experience with C&N construction was a pleasant and positive one to say the least,after a storm hit May 9 2018 in villa park, Tony Soto claims specialist from C&N was out in the neighborhood checking my neighbors house for damage and then proceeded to offer his free services and check for any damage to my house which there was, two roof shingles had blown off the garage and some shingles on the house had lifted up. From that point forward I did not have to lift a finger Tony started the whole process with my insurance company. And then from there Kevin Vacco Project manager took over the case and met with my insurance company adjuster to go over the damage which was minimal but my insurance company agreed to do a new roof on the house and garage. *** BEWARE*** Very BAD company to do business with, will try to scam you in the most incredible ways, VERY SHODDY WORK , most of you will most likely not climb on roof, to see the S**t job they will do, and All the corners they cut to s****ew you royally, The BBB will not do a thing for you, they get paid from the companies, not you, better to report to The Attorney General, division of professional regulators, storm chasers will tell you of all licenses and certifications, bull crap, Curtis the owners HAAG license is expired, will try to collect from your insurance behind your back before job is complete, will have non experienced subcontractors work on your projects, will not correct their mistakes and than place liens on your property for not paying fully for the non complete job, Storm chasers COULD be convicted felons or sexual predators, could go two tp three pages of all the issues but all are already being investigated by the AG BEWARE, do not fall a victim. read more

What a great experience I had with C and N construction, especially with my claim specialist Joseph he took his time to stand out from the rest. He explained everything in detail. He explained the process he explained the situations that may pop up, and I was surprised everything. He said when exactly how it was supposed to be I guess these insurance companies all act the same. At first they gave me a little bit, but Joseph worked hard for almost 3 months to get me fully approved. I couldn't believe it. Once I got approved, we sat down and went over everything. The crew that came out to do my roof were pretty nice guys. There was eight of them up there. Everything was professional. Joseph followed up with me, made sure I was happy with my new roof. Zane from C&N pointed out the storm damage on my roof and that insurance would likely cover the damage. I was skeptical at first, but he provided references that we checked out to see that the process was legitimate. With Zane's assistance, we went through the insurance process which could not have gone more smoothly. The insurance adjuster came out and cut us a check on the spot and we just had to wait for an opening in the weather to get the roof installed. The only issue that came up was that the crew did not show up on the first construction date. They did, however, make the second date which was a day later. I received a knock on the door at 6:50 AM from one of the workers and the old roof was off by 9 AM. The new roof was on by 1 PM and they spent at least 2 hours cleaning up the debris before leaving at 3 PM. Overall it was very good experience, and I would recommend Zane and C&N construction to anyone needing storm damage roofing work. read more

I had some missing shingles and non working gutters due to our lovely chicago weather, however I was reluctant to fix ASAP due to funds and knowing how insurance s never like to cover the whole thing. But luckily I came across C & N and they gave me a free estimate. Did I mention FREE?!? Well sure enough Curtis (the owner) confirmed the damage and told me he would help me through this process, which he did. He even helped me pick a roof color!!
