This dog park is hard to beat. For starters, it's absolutely huge and unlike a lot of dog parks I've traveled around to (including outside of Sac) this one provides a ton of shade thoughout the park, particularly by some large oak trees. There are benches and chairs throughout the dog park, which makes the vibe pretty inviting. I've been coming here for several years and find that the people that bring their dogs here are generally friendly and respectful. The seating is also spread out, so if you're wanting alone time with a good book you can definitely enjoy that here too. Some added bonuses of C-Bar-C include an agility course and multiple watering stations with dog swimming pools. And there's also a back fence with the names of beloved pets that crossed the Rainbow Bridge. The dog park is just outside the local baseball park, so on Saturday afternoons in summer the parking will be more challenging, but it's a fair trade for the sweet sounds of a good ballgame in my opinion. Definitely bring your pooch and check this park out!

I have come to C bar C since last July 2022 with my puppy. Quite a few people might know us, he's the black Great Dane (1 year old now). He's very friendly and people friendly as well. He was first attacked when he was about 3.5 months old ( no injuries ) but it left him scared. As he got bigger he was attacked multiple more times here. Sustaining minor injuries, the worst being two full on bites from German Shepard. He has been latched into from pit bulls. Bullied etc. he started defending himself as he got older and now is at the point of hyper defensiveness. If a dog is even slightly aggressive he gets triggered. Otherwise he plays very nicely. I was there the other day with him, and a dog growled at him. This triggered a fight with very minor injuries to the other white poodle ish dog. Definitely a few people seem to blame my dog, Scooby. However, I saw it happen from a short distance. And he certainly did not pick that fight. One fellow onlooker, who ran into "help" I had to tell to let go of my dog. He had him in damn near a chokehold. I'm not sure what kind of a fragile male needs to hold a dog down like that. And be told to let go. I should have reported him to police. I was more concerned about the other Dog but it seemed to be OK definitely was off put by the male owner who demanded a picture of my ID which I did not give him. He tried to cross my boundaries and take a picture anyway, but I quickly grabbed my ID and moved it away from his phone, *FYI for anyone who gets into a situation like this you're not required to show or give a picture of your ID to anybody* if it's that serious police should be called. And to the less than physically fit, middle-aged woman who proclaimed "you need to get your dog fixed just like everyone else!" Sweetie pie c worry about yourself ( and less pies ) I suppose one of my big points is why are people especially with this last incident so upset with my dog when he has been attacked at least six or seven times at this park it is not his fault for defending himself against other dogs, no it's not because he's not fixed. It's because your dog has intimidation issues, if your dog is easily intimidated, simply do not take him to the park.

There are water buckets all around the park

I love this dog park. They have separate sections for small dogs and big dogs. My dog is a big dog, a German Shepherd. He loves it here they take really good care of it. They have lots of water, buckets, climbing structures, digging mounts, a lot of running space, trees, balls, poop bags and garbage cans, and even kiddie pools for the summer. The people are always friendly too and even host events! We are going to become regulars!

If i could spell how a dog pants at something when they are happy that would be my opener for C-Bar-C dog park. Insert tail wagging and tongue hanging while jumping on my back feet like a dog who has found his favorite treat. This is one of the best dog parks i have been too. So many things to right, i dont know where to start. My mind is running like a dog who has escaped into the open and playing wild like in the free. Now that i have ran and round for a few i can now calm down and think straight. Maybe ;) Starters when you pull in there a decent amount of parking. Obviously it is a fully inclosed park with fencing. But when you walk in the main entrance you still have your little dog coral to get your dog unleashed and ready to open the dog gate to doggy freedom, or the doggy greating area of sniffing butts and asking questions later as the play afterwards of finding out who is who. Now the park is WICKED BIG! With a few different sections (all open nothing blocking them) like in 2 of the opposite corners they have a big concrete pad section with water bubblers for both upright walkers, and paw walkers alike. But the best andnl i mean best part is they have HOSES. Not just a hose but 2 at each section! ! =) they also have 2 kiddy pools that must be amazing for the summer time. So you can fill them up with ease, and also wash your muddy/dusty /slobbered dog offf year round! Another section is the agility like area few of the poles for weaving in & out of, a little A frame too. Then they have the wooded area, trees which would be great for shade during the summer and dogs running around them and chasing the squirrels if they do dear be around. The middle is just wide open for free range play. And then they have plenty of seats, tables and a few covered like seating for a couple to hold hands and watch there fur babies play and mingle with other fur babies. Now the poop scoop info. Bring your own, ornuse some of the donated ones and then walk to almost any side of the fences and you will see some cut out fence with a wood window-less for easy-to-drop off the smelly treat (ewww) into the outside rubbish, such a awesome idea, keep the smell out and less chance of a dog knocking it over! And lastly they have a ton of metal pails for water, you fill em up with water and randomly put them in the park for dogs to get a drink when they want too. All of the tools, roys, utensils for the dog park are paid for by donations from users like you of the park. So if you feel like spreading smiles to the dogs drop a donation in the pole box at the entrance/exit area. There is also a bulletin board for info and lost and found section for keys, collars and what ever else you may have left behind and someone was cool to put there. My pics for this review are from Christmas eve, we actually had rain before. So even with the rain the park was still pretty good, some dry sreas with some mud, but there is a slight incline so the water goes downhill and keep the rest dry-ish. So go let your dog(s) out, bark, ruff, woof, play and be free while playing at the C-Bar-C park. Cause now it is my time to go rest and take a nap from this review. ;)

A while back I was driving around with my monsters after grabbing a nice cup of coffee from Dutch Bros when I decided to take my coffee, monsters and book to the dog park. Having never been to a dog park in this area I did what I always do - I yelped it! As usual, I am glad I did. I absolutely LOVE this park! The small dog area is typical. Small. The usual crowd of chair toting, friendly, chatty dog lovers enjoying their furry family members and each other. I don't typically venture into the big dog areas. I have a shy 4lb yorkie and a not-so-shy 4lb poodle. My poodle, Chulo, seems to think that he can check any and all dogs, including dogs that have faces bigger than his entire body. Soo... I try to steer clear of those potential adventures. However, on this trip, the big dog section looked so inviting and there were only a few dogs in there so we took a chance. I just love this big dog area. It reminds me a little of the dog parks I would go to when I lived in Florida. There is a large grassy area for some games of fetch or just some fun tussling. There is a large section of trees up a small mound creating a nice shady resting space. If you prefer a spot in the sun, there are plenty of chairs and benches scattered about. They also have two water stations, one at the entrance and one toward the back of the park. The water station toward the back is my personal favorite because it has a couple small pools for the doggies to take a dip and cool off. One of the most memorable and sweet things about this park is their wall of memories or rather a fence of memories. Along the backside of the park, there are signs with names of furry family members that have passed and a beautiful sign talking about The Rainbow Bridge. I tried to get a picture to post, but it didn't turn out very clear. So if you love dogs and you love parks, go check this place out... take a stroll to the back of the park along the fence and read the sign. It is touching, special, sweet and it will fill your heart with warm love! For me, that's exactly what a day at the park is supposed to do!

Ask the Community - C-bar-C Park Dog Park

Does anyone know if there is a place for unsocialized dogs? My dog is still learning but I want to find somewhere that's closed off that I could take her to run around.

There are young dogs at C bar C dog park that are learning social skills. As long as your dog isn't dangerous it should be fine.

Can you bring a pit bull mix here?

    Yes no breed restrictions

This was the first stop on our dog park tour! The park is tucked behind a residential neighborhood, so it feels a little hidden, but there was plenty of parking available, which was a nice surprise. One thing to know before visiting is that there are no separate small and large dog areas--everyone shares the same space. Fortunately, during our visit, both the dogs and owners were friendly and respectful, and all of the dogs seemed to get along well. My puppy was still very young at the time, so I had him wearing a muzzle. It wasn't because of aggression--he was simply in the phase where he would pick up anything he found and immediately swallow it instead of just carrying it around. Even with the muzzle on, the other owners were understanding, and everyone was very friendly. The park is primarily made up of pea gravel, with very little grass. When you first walk in, there's a small shaded area with a built-in bench, and someone had also left a lawn chair. On the opposite side of the park, there's another tree that provides shade with additional chairs nearby. Most of the park is a large open area covered in pea gravel, which gives dogs plenty of room to run around. All the way at the far end of the park, there are several agility features. I liked that they were designed to blend into the environment with faux stone finishes and landscaping that included river rocks. The park also had a watering station and even a dog wash station, which was a great amenity. One feature I especially appreciated was the opening in the fence near the entrance that allows you to easily drop filled poop bags directly into the trash can outside the fenced area. It's such a simple idea, but very convenient. The park appeared to be well maintained overall. I didn't notice any unpicked-up dog waste during our visit, which was nice to see. My only real complaint is the lack of grass. There was one particular tree that seemed to be every dog's favorite spot to stop and pee--I jokingly started calling it the "pee tree." The pea gravel around that area looked noticeably dirtier and murkier, and unfortunately my dog kept lying down there, which was a little frustrating. Overall, this was a nice dog park with friendly dogs, friendly owners, and some thoughtful amenities. If you don't mind a park that's mostly pea gravel and don't need separate small and large dog areas, it's definitely worth checking out.

It is made up of almost all hard surfaces like cements, sand, dirt. There were a few patchy spots but no real grass anywhere. It was sprinkling on and off during our visit and there is one bench that has a small cover over it so I was able to stay protected, however, the water and the sand kind of filled my shoes up with dirt and especially my dog's paws. Luckily they have a working dog wash here which is a huge bonus at a dog park. I also like how they cut a whole in the fence and have the garbage outside with a spot to reach through so you don't have to worry about the overwhelming stench of dog poo. There are a few benches, but it could use a few more and maybe some shade as well but they do have water available for both people and dogs. Someone left their car key and whoever found it was nice enough to tie it up to the gate, so if you left the key to your Honda here you might want to come and get it. I will definitely be stopping by this park again when we're in the area.
