Great service! I absolutely loved my waitress. She was such a sweetheart, and she was very transparent with us about the food items and her recommendations. I appreciate her so much! As for the food-- VERY plentiful and delicious! I got an absolutely huge Philly Cheesesteak Sandwich and fries for ~$17! My aunt bought the Spinach Salad and she loved her food, too! Prime rib was good, but had to ask for horseradish which was supposed to come with. Sweet potato was good, but had to ask for butter. Collards were fresh and cooked well, but absolutely no seasoning. We were seated in lounge area where the political views of the restaurant were clear by the news channel they had on and what the patrons at the bar were talking and cursing about. A restaurant should be safe space for everyone to get a meal and enjoy themselves in a politics free zone. U could tell there were many regulars. Maybe that's all they care about. I can't review the food because we were not even allowed to sit. They wouldn't allow us to take our carry ons with us so we had to leave them by the door. Unattended. At an airport. When asked, the hostess said she wouldn't watch them. I believe her words were "no, we're not associated with the airport." We decided to take our chances because we were really thirsty and wanted to watch a little March Madness. We went in to the lounge as directed and asked the bartender for a table since we couldn't sit at the bar. He directed us to the back of the lounge where the same hostess seemed to be waiting for us. So, we asked for a table for a drink, something to eat and a place to watch a game. She literally told us that she didn't know how to work the remote and she didn't think the bartender had one. In a room with a bunch of TVs that were already on! She then went to the bartender with her back to us. We heard her make a few derogatory remarks and shake her head as if she didn't want us there. At that point, I realized that we weren't welcome and we left. In all my years of traveling, I've never had such a poor experience at a restaurant in an airport. The excuse that you're not associated with the airport is ridiculous. If you don't want to be associated, then go rent a space that's not in the same building as a small airport. Anyone looking for a place to go in the Vero Beach airport, consider taking a taxi somewhere. Anywhere. Travelers don't seem to be welcome here. read more

CJ Cannons , at the Vero Beach airport. It's one of the most awesome gems in Vero Beach if you're hungry this is the place to go. The breakfast is amazing in the dinner. Will leave you full and satisfied. The only downside is parking since you're at the airport your subject to the flights as they come in and out of people picking folks up. But I will drive around the parking lot for a half an hour to find a spot just to enjoy a meal at this wonderful restaurant. read more

Our party of six visited CJ Cannons on a weekday night for dinner. They normally only accept reservations for a party of 8 but were kind and agreed to take my reservation for 6 people. The table was ready for us upon arrival and our server quickly took drink orders. There is no happy hour per say however, we were told if you ordered 2 well drinks or 2 glasses of wine, you get $1 off. A basket of biscuits and cornbread was delivered to our table. The biscuits unfortunately were on the dry side, and the cornbread was cold. We placed our entree orders which came out to the table about 20 minutes later. Most entrees include two side selections. There are some "light" entrees which come with one side item. There is a wide selection of sides to choose from, but there is an upcharge of $1.50 if you want asparagus, broccoli, or a side salad as one of your side choices. The prime rib was cooked nicely, the meatloaf had a lot of flavor, the stuffed shrimp came with 4 jumbo shrimp stuffed with a crab mixture, and the crab cakes were good but too heavy on the breading. The breading in the crab cake overwhelmed any taste of crab meat. The sides were all good and included choices at our table of onion rings, french fries, baked potato, sweet potato, rice, collard greens, baked beans, cole slaw, broccoli, and asparagus. At the end of the meal a small, complimentary dessert is offered with a choice of vanilla, chocolate, or peanut butter pudding, a chocolate cake, or peach cobbler. It was a nice way to top off the meal with a taste of something sweet, but nothing too heavy. Besides that, how many restaurants offer a free dessert? We were seated by the windows adjacent from the airport runway where we could have seen planes taking off or landing, but unfortunately with the inclement weather, planes were not running. We had good service, a friendly server, and a pleasant dining experience. The environment and attire are both casual. The menu has numerous entree selections and a good variety of side item choices. A nice spot to enjoy a meal with family & friends. read more

At first we were unsure about a place in the airport. We actually turned around and went somewhere else the first time. The following day after reading reviews we decided to give it a try. Easy to get to with plenty of parking. You do not need to actually enter the airport as there is an entrance for the restaurant very visible. Once inside the decor is all about aviation and travel. There was a 20 minute wait and there seemed to be people everywhere, but there was plenty of waiting room. Once seated our waitress Tracy came quickly and was super nice. I ordered Country fried steak with hash-browns, scrambled eggs and toast. My husband order Butter Pecan banana glazed French toast. First let me say the serving size was big, for both. My hash-browns were nice and crispy, eggs cooked perfectly and the steak and gravy were delicious , I didn't need to add salt or pepper which I usually have to. My husband's French toast was very good as well, sweet and very filling. I'm so glad we went back to try this place out. If ever in the area again we will be going back. As I always say, never judge a book by its cover. I was in Vero visiting my parents and flying home this past Monday, the 20th. I was unfamiliar with the size of the airport and was able to initially go through TSA in 3 minutes flat, so I decided to grab a little lunch. I had to go back through TSA as CJ's is technically not attached to the airport, but not a big deal. I left my roller suitcase in a secured area, by a blue light, and went to a booth. I ordered a local craft beer, flying brothers, (I think) and the chili mac because it was cold there. The beer came out perfectly poured with an accurate amount of head on it, and 5 minutes later my chili mac came out. The beer was hoppy and had a great taste to it. My chili mac was flavorful and I did ask for jalapenos on the side, to add another layer of flavor and it was delicious. It came with a mini cornbread muffin which was well cooked. All of this in an airport no less. Everything was prepared fresh and was delicious. I will be back next time I am in town. Keep up the great work team. read more

It's a bit of a step into the past but Cannon's is located at the Vero Beach airport that the U.S. Navy purchased to establish Naval Air Station Vero Beach during WW2. I've been to CJ Cannons several times for breakfast. They have a large selection of great items to choose from, including several different types of eggs Benedict. The atmosphere is full of nostalgia and charm. There's a great view of the airport, which primarily serves Lear jets and flight training planes as Vero has a pilot training school. Probably would get 4 stars as a place to have a few drinks. But as a restaurant- 2 and that is generous. First the waitresses and staff are catty. As in you here them bickering "that was my table" or the hostess who replied "how would I know I don't work for the airline" when asked if there is enough time to eat before the flight. Second the seating is tight and uncomfortable with strange twists and turns to get past people if you get up to use the washrooms. But the real issue is the food is barely meh. Coleslaw which is literally drowning in sauce. Order veggies as your side and get cut green beans directly out of a low quality can. The good news: I did make the flight. read more
