Southern Benny and Tater Tot Breakfast Bowl
    Mark D.

We stopped in at Hen House Eatery for a mid-morning breakfast while camping nearby at Long Point Park. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a cozy spot with friendly staff and plenty of quirky "farm fresh" themed artwork adorning the walls, giving it a welcoming and fun vibe.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The menu is impressively extensive, and I even spotted a Bacon Bloody Mary that I made a mental note to come back and try. My wife chose the Tater Tot Breakfast Bowl, which was hearty and satisfying. It included crispy, delicious Tater Tots (of course), topped with bits of country ham, scrambled eggs, and a generous layer of melted cheese. I went with the Southern Benny, a creative twist on classic eggs Benedict. This version features two sausage patties atop biscuit halves, each topped with a perfectly poached egg and smothered in sausage gravy. I also opted for grits as my side, as I consider myself something of a grits connoisseur and often use them as a benchmark for overall breakfast quality. I'm happy to say the grits were cooked to the perfect consistency, though very plain. Use them as a blank canvas to add your own butter and seasonings to suit your taste. Another breakfast standard I use to gauge quality is the coffee. If it tastes rich and full-bodied straight up black, it's a winner. This coffee, unfortunately, while not bitter or unpleasant, lacked any specific character or robustness. So, it was Hello, Cream & Sugar--suit up, we need you in this coffee game! The portions here are generous, so come hungry, plan to share, or be ready to take some leftovers home. As for the food? It was hot and tasty but leaned a bit on the bland side. A touch more seasoning would have elevated the flavors. That said, it's still a nice spot for a hearty breakfast, and I look forward to trying more items from the menu on our next visit. On a scale of 1 - 5, I give this particular experience a solid 4; very tasty and satisfying, but we are still searching for the "wow" factor. Maybe I should have ordered that Bloody Mary after all.

We drove 30 minutes to try this cute little place. The food was great and honestly better than I expected. Sandy who waited on us gave us great service and everyone that was working was very friendly and accommodating to us and our 3 small children. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I brought my stroller inside and even though it was smaller space, there was plenty of room for us to fit.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My husband and I ordered a turkey blt and a chicken caesar wrap...wow 10/10. Absolutely delicious. The wrap was warm the chicken was the right temperature and the romain was crispy. My sandwich had the perfect ratio of turkey, tomato, and bacon was cooked perfectly. The home fries were seasoned nicely and the quality and texture was very pleasing. We loved this place! We will definitely be back to try something new. Highly recommend this unique cozy spot.

Donut holes with syrup for dipping- come out hot and fresh!

Stopped in here for a bite while traveling. We were seated right away and our server was great, very friendly and attentive. The restaurant isn't very big but has enough seating and cute decor, restrooms were very clean. The menu is huge, plenty of breakfast and lunch options! The food is good, service is great but this is not a bang for your buck kind of place. Would totally eat here again but the portions are on the smaller side in my opinion. The kids meals are very small, one small chocolate chip pancake. The donut holes are a must though! Absolutely delicious, come out hot and fresh! The onion pedals were very good and the dipping sauce is identical to OB. The Ruben sandwich with coleslaw is fantastic, as was the cucumber salad.

Went here for breakfast yesterday and found the service to be excellent. They are really friendly here, and one woman loves to make jokes; what a great attitude. The menu is quite extensive with lots of options for breakfast and lunch. We ordered the 2-2-2 breakfast plate which consisted of 2 eggs, 2 pancakes, and 2 slices of bacon. The latter was too over cooked, very brittle. But the eggs and pancakes were cooked well. We also ordered the steak omelette with mushrooms and cheddar cheese along with hash browns, it was just perfect. There's was tons of steak in it and very tasty. The coffee is really good, with a bottomless cup. They are always asking if you would like a refill.

Wanted to get away from the overpriced and mediocre Disney resort food and this places potatoes and reviews looked good. The service was prompt and very friendly and the prices were very reasonable. The coffee which is a must was weak and had that Florida swamp water taste which is unfortunate the omelet was good but slightly skimping on the filings. The home fries were good cooked with onions which I always enjoy. Definitely worth a try but I'll give another place a whirl when I'm in town next.

Stopped in on a Saturday morning and immediately appreciated the Old Florida charm of this place…read more Country Ham N Egg has the kind of classic diner vibe I love--complete with a proper lunch counter, plenty of booths and tables, and even some outdoor seating. We were seated right away, and the service was spot on: quick, friendly, and never felt rushed. I usually judge a breakfast spot partly by their coffee, but I already had a fresh cup of homebrew in my Buc-ee's tumbler this time around and didn't want to waste it (Yes, I saw the "Absolutely no outside beverages" sign... and yes, I'll respect that on future visits. No one said a word, which I appreciated.) I did grab a giant glass of cranberry juice to go with my meal. I ordered the pork chop with two eggs over easy, grits, and an English muffin--and everything was cooked just right. The pork chop had perfect grill marks and was tender and flavorful. The eggs were exactly how I like them, and the grits... well, I can be a bit picky when it comes to grits, but these were spot on. Creamy, hot, and seasoned just right--hard to beat that. All in all, a great breakfast experience. Looking forward to coming back, and I'm curious to see what they've got on the lunch menu next time.

Stopped in the local breakfast hangout for a good meal after work. Ordered the chicken fried steak,…read morehome fries, eggs and toast. I ate the eggs and half the toast. That's it. Only 5 pieces of potato were fried, the rest seemed like cubes of pale baked potato. The "steak" was more like a breaded hamburger, and tasted like it was past it's sell-by date. I left everything else on the plate. The waitress never asked if there was anything wrong, and I could plainly see she saw what was left on my plate. Even when I went to pay no one asked how everything was, as is customary in the food service industry. This place is 3 miles from my house, but I'll drive the 25 miles to the closest Crakcer Barrel from now on.

We got there at about 11:30 on a Saturday morning and there was about a 20 minute wait - not bad at all. Once seated, we were brought water and the cutest bread basket, blueberry muffins!! My fiancée ordered the chocolate chip pancake big breakfast and I got the same, with lemon blueberry pancakes. These pancakes were DOUSED with berries, and the lemon shone through. The eggs were great and the bacon was perfectly crispy. The atmosphere in this place is SO beachside shabby chic. It's all bright wood, local art, and driftwood pieces. Our server was so sweet and attentive and kept our drinks full for the full meal. Though the restaurant was full, we didn't feel pressured at all to eat quickly and leave. One note for parents - the tables are glass topped and they do not allow clip-on high chairs. Absolutely not a negative, just felt it was important information to share. And a more general note: there's no specific parking for this restaurant. Keep an eye out for street parking and non-permit lots as you're getting closer. It's a very walkable neighborhood. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our visit to Lemon Tree and would highly recommend it!! Thank you all for providing a great start to our day
