Best pizza in the valley, hands down. Best Ceasar salad on the planet, hands down. Everything that I have ever ordered has been exceptional. If they ever have the black cod on the special menu, get it. I didn't know about black cod; it's melt in your mouth fabulous. We are lucky to have a great 5 star here in the valley. We had a fantastic meal at C St Bistro, and it was absolutely worth the quick detour off I-5. The pork chop special was outstanding--perfectly cooked and full of flavor. The homemade lobster ravioli special with shrimp and cod was exceptional and felt like something you'd expect at a much higher-end restaurant. Chef Paul is clearly accomplished and incredibly talented--his attention to detail, balance of flavors, and execution really stand out in every dish we tried. The wine list features excellent local wines that paired beautifully with our meal. We also loved learning that they grind sirloin to order for their burgers, which speaks volumes about their commitment to quality. The pizza coming out of the kitchen looked amazing too and is definitely on our list for next time. If you're anywhere near Jacksonville or passing through on I-5, C St Bistro is a true gem and well worth the stop. read more

We had been referred to The bistro by the manager at the wine country Inn in Jacksonville. It did not disappoint no matter when we went there. The food was fantastic. The chef was great. I believe his wife and daughter work there too. The food was always fantastic since where salmon guides on the coast we brought him salmon as a gift. The food was imaginative and very tasty and the wines were fantastic. The service was excellent. You could not go wrong ordering anything here. We also love that we use the exact same Mikasa dishes at home. read more

Called to make a reservation and was told it was too far in advance, call on Monday the week of. Called Tuesday and was told text me your info and will get back to you. Sent detailed information including # of people, date and time frame to be flexible. Received a text back with a confirmation of 6:30 pm. We walk in and are told we are closed even though the listed hours are until 8 pm. I reiterated the date and time. He responded with we are closed and your reservation is tomorrow. I shared we are not in town tomorrow. No apology. I am not sure how people run their business but it is apparent the disorganization will ruin this restaurant. He seemed more interested in getting out early rather than honoring the reservation and acknowledging his mistake on the date. He could have offered a suggestion for a small town that closes up early. Adjust your hours or get into another line of work. If I could give 0 stars I would. read more

Darling little bistro. we were looking forward to a leisurely evening catching up with friends. we drove from Lake Oswego and our friends met us in Jacksonville from San Francisco Bay Area. our reservation was at 7. we were seated at a little table on the patio under an old apple tree. very charming. the server was attentive but seemed to be rushing us through everything. they only had one special left and only one pizza dough available for one pizza. we ordered a pizza to split and enjoy with some wine to start. the food was good. Our complaint was how rushed we were. It was evident they really didnt want us there. in the end the owner came out and started clearing our table and said he had to get home. Rude! we were there all of 45 minutes. Disappointing to say the least. maybe it was just a bad day for him but it really ruined the experience. read more

We were greeted and seated right away, very pleasant and attentive service. The food was excellent we ordered 2 pizzas ( White and Bolognese ) as well as a bolognese pasta. We have eaten at C St. several times and each the food was wonderful the service mediocre as the owner/head chef is not pleasant to us and oddly has watched us drive up and leave each time. The last time we dined it was a to-go medium pepperoni pizza which was below sub-par, over priced at $30, the size of a small, bland, and tough. Unfortunately we will not return. read more

Our waiter was attentive and very busy. The outdoor patio was nice. We placed our order at the beginning of the lunch rush and it seemed like it took a long time for our food came out. Two of my friends said their tomato soup wasn't hot, just warm. I bit into a big piece of fat in the first bite of my Cubano sandwich. Upon inspection I found another big blob of fat within the shredded pork and the sandwich tasted greasy. Although the fillings were appropriate, the bread wasn't pressed as a true Cubano would be. Also, the chopped Caesar salad was over-dressed and soggy. Very disappointing. I cannot recommend this restaurant. read more

We just moved to Medford near Jacksonville and the other night we decided to go have a drink somewhere. We didn't want to go to a bar, so we decided to try this place. We walk in and it's super small inside. We asked at the counter if we could sit outside and have some drinks. The owner/chef did NOT give a welcoming vibe at all. He sort of just looked at us and told us to go sit outside and someone would be with us. We weighed just taking off and going somewhere else, but figured we would give it a try, We asked to look at a dinner menu and it looked interesting. He got a beer and I got a glass of wine. Pretty light pour on the wine. Other than that, the female who served us was fine. When it came time to settle up, the owner took our money and we asked him how long he had had the place. We told him that we recently moved from Ashland to Medford and that we were happy that we were so close to Jacksonville, as it was a bit of a hike from Ashland. He scoffed, rolled his eyes and called Ashland, "Portland South." Ummm, we love Ashland and weren't asking for your rude opinion, buddy. Suffice to say, we will not be coming back to try the food and will instead check out other places to go have a cocktail in Jacksonville. read more

Previously recommended based of food quality. Now prices are sky high ($72 for pizza, salad, burger). The owner/chef is a miserable curmudgeon who grunts and is just plain miserable, all the time. I had frequented this place previously but just got tired of being grunted at by the owner. Oh and the owner/chef begrudgingly wore a mask during covid, on his chin. Hours on building are different from phone recording hours and hours on this site, (they close at 7pm FYI). Regularly when you call to order food no one answers the phone, while they are open. This is the ONLY wheelchair accessible lunch restaurant we could find in Jacksonville. In fact, it was one of the few businesses in town that are wheelchair accessible. Sad that the town doesn't take equality seriously. This restaurant is quaint, with a broad lunch menu and decent prices. The food is tasty and the service is great. Stopped in for lunch during our first visit to Jacksonville back in July and we were not disappointed! Over 4 weeks of road tripping around the Northwest, THIS was the best dining experience we had. Lovely outdoor seating area & quaint indoor dining room. They were very accommodating as one of our family has celiac and they gracefully helped us navigate their menu and create something tasty and fun for a picky (& gluten free) tween. We also enjoyed a portobello sandwich as well as a vegetarian sandwich. Both were delectable but the vegetarian sandwich was of another world! All very familiar ingredients but each popping with more flavor than I'm familiar with and combining to awaken my tastebuds from their slumber. Based on reviews we decided to have lunch here. I highly recommend eating here. The staff were friendly and service was prompt. I had the Cubana sandwich and it was excellent. Both types of meat in it were flavorful and not salty. My husband built a burger and said it was excellent. His meal also came with fingerling potatoes which I tried and they were very good! ALSO, they make their own ketchup which is out of this world!! read more
