Had no idea this was going to be as good as it was. I was coming out of an event and hadn't eaten yet, and the hotel I was staying in was closing down the kitchen. Went with a delivery app and this had good ratings. I got three pastor tacos and they really hit the spot. They were not overloaded but not skimpy, just right. They also included some hot sauces that added a perfect amount of heat and enhanced the flavor. Also ordered chips & salsa and while the chips were the equivalent of store-bought chips, the salsa had a nice flavor with a touch of heat. This was one of those meals where it didn't look like much, and my expectations were set for it to be a bit average, but damn was I wrong! I travel for work and rarely go some place twice. Their food was wonderful. The taco and enchilada lunch came with rice and beans. The taco and the rice were exceptional. Taco was just corn tortillas but better than most and were fried right before came out with beef and onion plus cilantro. Today I had the enchiladas special which was outstanding too. Came here recently and had a bit of a hit or miss experience. The hits: +Margaritas. They have a nice variety of tequila and mix a decent 'rita rocks. I had mine made with Don Julio and it was spot on. +Guacamole. We ordered their guacamole appetizer and not only is it delicious but it's plentiful. They gave us a whole bowl full of fresh and flavorful guacamole with plenty of fresh made, still warm chips for dipping. There were only two of us and I think it would have been ample enough for 4-5 people. +The atmosphere both inside and out. They have a cute sidewalk patio out front and their dining room inside is sparkling clean and lovely. The miss: +I got enchiladas made with queso fresco, which came out cold. I pretty much never send a dish back to the kitchen but it was so cold, I just couldn't eat it. The server explained that when using fresh cheese it doesn't melt (understood, but it also shouldn't be cold). She took the plate with the promise to microwave it for me (not ideal, but ok). Once microwaved, it was still just ok. My dining companion was equally non-plussed with his meal. Could be that we just need to find a dish they make that we'd prefer. But, for our dinner this evening, it was a swing and a miss. Beyond that, the prices were reasonable and our server did definitely try to rectify my cold dish dilemma. A-ok. read more

Sad to say I used to come here all the time and was never disappointed. I'm in and out of town, I decide to come here today for a late lunch, April 30, 2024 at 1:45pm service was great. I ordered the ground beef taco plate. The ground beef was watered down or should I say, it had no substance it wasn't meaty at all. I asked to exchange it for steak, the server had to ask the manager and he refused my request. The food wasn't even worth taking. I left it there and paid my bill in full with a tip because it's not the servers fault. Actually, I had been hearing rumors that they have been falling short (the food is not as good as it used to be ) in the past few years, but I had to go back and see/eat for myself. However, our Bill was $159.00 for 5 of us that wasn't bad considering we had pitchers of margaritas. We put 0 down for the tip because we all had pitched in and left her a $40.00 tip. The next day my sister noticed they charged her $189.00 NOT $159.00 so after work she stopped in explained the situation and they took her information and said the Manager will call her back. No one ever called her, so we decided to spread the word watch your check they are obviously adding to your bill. Even if was a "mistake" they would call back. Here is a picture of the garbage that was delivered to us at work for lunch. Queso with chorizo packaged in a regular to go container and delivered with no chips for dipping. Thanks for the greasy "soup" that ran all over everyone else's food by the time it was delivered. You should be ashamed of how this was presented and even more embarrassed of this pile of grease you call a dip. Not sure If that's a side of beans randomly added in one of the areas? Here's an example of a rare situation where Yelp advertising definitely worked. I have been noticing the Tu Casa advertisements on Yelp the past month and thought the food looks great. Noticing it also has a decent amount of reviews with a 4.5 star average, my wife and I were sold on making the trip. We started off with a couple house margaritas. They were good, but not great. We drank them down while enjoying their awesome chips and salsas. The chips were some of the best I've had in Milwaukee for sure. We always like to try the guacamole at every Mexican restaurant we come to. The portion size was very generous and priced at $8. The guacamole tasted good, but wasn't as chunky as we typically like. For our main courses, my wife had steak fajitas and I had the al Pastor burrito. Both left us satisfied and extremely full. It would have been a smart idea to just eat half of the burrito and save it for the next day, but when it tastes that good and it's right in front of you, how can you stop? Wanted to have a god lunch in Milwaukee with my friend because we were visiting the city for the day, and we were not disappointed! This place definitely has some of the best service I've ever experienced, and the food and drink quality is great! The Pina Colada I ordered was delicious and decently priced. Called in a order for pick up. First time visiting the restaurant. Ordered the Parrillada dish with roasted jalapeños on the side and a mix of count and flour tortillas. It was excellent! It listed chorizo as an ingredient, but didn't find any. Truthfully it wasn't missed with the other meats and vegetables all well seasoned and tasty. Glad we stopped here to grab a quick lunch while killing time on a Saturday afternoon. The food is good, no complaints there but what really impressed us the most was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, friendly and genuinely seemed interested in making our experience a good one; they take pride in their restaurant. Complimentary chips n salsa was solid, the salsa has a little kick. My chicken tostadas were a great value ($3/ea); big portions and tasty. The star of our meal was the shrimp ceviche! I stumbled on this place a couple weeks ago and I had to check them out. They have been open for just over a year according to Jerry the owner. The place Is really cool on the inside with colorful walls and art work. I liked how the dark/light woods contrasted with the tile floors and colorful walls. On the left as you walk in there is a nice wood bar with comfy/cozy chairs in front of the Windows. There is plenty of nice chairs and tables with the wall on the right having long family style tables for large groups. As I was seated I was given some fresh looking chips and salsa which I liked. The orange salsa was my favorite because it was a nacho cheese and roasted pepper, it was creamy with a nice sneak up on you heat finish. As I was eating the chips a guy came over and asked how everything is and if I had been there before, I said judging by the good chips and salsa I don't think I will have any problem with the food but he said constructive criticism is welcome for improvements. I asked him if he was the owner and he said yes while reaching his hand out to introduce him self. Jerry was working the whole room and making sure everyone was taken care of, I like that there top priority is to make sure everyone is enjoying his restaurant. Jerry saw that I was having a margarita and said the 5 flavor margarita is the house speciality and it would be on him as my next one, I said I'm driving so I would only have one. Well that was not good enough for him and he said when I come back to tell your server that Jerry has one for me, that's pretty cool. Through out my lunch at least 5 employees stopped to see if everything was ok. Jerry did come back with a shot glass sample of the five flavor margarita which was good, how frigen cool is that. I ordered the combo # 17 which was a mini burrito, tostada and a flauta with beans and rice that has a splash of sour cream and guacamole. I did two things that I never do at Mexican places which is get a flauta and have chicken as a meat option, see the pictures. When my plate hit the table if was gorgeous looking. The chicken flauta surprised me because it was pretty good, l liked how the great corn flavor complemented the seasoned chicken with all the toppings. The ground beef tostada was tasty with all the toppings. The rice was cooked perfect, all separate grains not to soft but not hard. The beans were good with melty cheese on top. I didn't get to the pork burrito because I was full so I topped it with the guacamole and poured the left over cheese sauce all over it and took it home, I'm sure it will be good. Over all the food was fresh and flavorful and well worth going back for more sampling of the menu. For me to give a 5 star something has to wow me and Jerry the owner was that wow factor and moved the place to a five star review. Jerry's genuine concern that every guest have a great experience at his restaurant really impressed me because today's experience was not the norm. I had an outstanding lunch experience today and I would recommend anyone who likes Mexican restaurants to get over there while Jerry is in. So this time I get aggressively told to stand in the hallway while entering (at around 9:45) and asked for my id which I've never been asked for before because it's a restaurant so I go get it and when I come back three people are allowed to enter without being carded. So after I get carded and pat down which is another new thing we go sit and shortly after the same man comes and says their done serving food (at 9:45) which is weird because they serve food well into the night and it wasn't even after hours. The food from Tu Casa is always amazing. We love to order the Taco Tuesday platter. The red and green salsas are spectacular. I especially love the chicken tacos and my family loves the beef and pork. The delivery is always quick and efficient. I tried this place because it had so many good reviews. I ordered delivery on a cold day. It was awesome. I tried it a second time, guess what? It was awesome! The guacamole was fresh! The chips excellent. My friends and I tried everything we could to get a variety on the menu. We tried burritos, beans, rice, queso fundido, enchilada, tostadas and flautas. After a few tries nothing was bad. The seasonings were great and the delivery was on time and great. I was very impressed as many Mexican places can be rather bland. Went here for the first time tonight for dinner after driving to the area for another reason. The entire experience was fabulous. Our server was so friendly and welcoming. I had the tamale dinner and my wife had taco salad. Both were great - great flavor, right sized portions, and at a low price. They keep it exceptionally clean with plenty of space between tables. I understand that it is Covid-19 time but that does not excuse this restaurant to be so rude. This is my first and last time supporting this establishment. Customer service was horrible and it was impossible to find parking spot or a pickup/curbside parking spot. It was taco Tuesday so all the the tacos were $1.50. I first called for a pick up order and the woman that I spoke with kept telling me that my order was over 20 dollars. I got 6 tacos and 1 tostada, which $1.50*6=$9 and 1 tostado= $3.50. I got irritated with her so I decided to use Grubhub curbside instead. The email below are their curbside instructions, which is so unclear and unorganized. When I arrived, there were no parking space, and I was not going to park one block away so they can bring me my food. Instructions said to go in the back and park in the designated curbside pickup area. There were no signs of a designated curbside parking, and the parking lot was full so I ended up parking in the middle of the alley. I called the restaurant and the same women picked up. I told her what happen, that I don't see a sign for curbside pickup and I was park in the middle of the alley. She told me to park by the table and hung up. I thought she got disconnected and call her another THREE times. Yes I WAS patient! After multiple times that she hung up, one of the staff brought out food for another car. I was lucky to caught her on time and she finally gave me my order. This was after 15-20 minutes and at this point, my food was already cold. The food was not worth it, the meat was cold, hard, and very bland. I normally go to to chicken palace and el senorial. They have way more superior food and costumer service. read more

This place. If you like fresh ingredients and flavors of Mexico, this is the place. This was my 3rd visit to Tu Casa and it has not disappointed. I will say that for good quality food there is typically a wait that can be up to 30 min so if you're in a hurry this may not be the best choice. I always start with the tortilla soup, simple yet full of flavor. This visit we tried the guacamole. A creamy guac that could have used a bit more heat and salt. We also ordered the dorado tacos (fried hard shell) with potato, there are meat options too for this dish. I ordered potato enchiladas. There is a theme here, we love their seasoned potatoes. In the pics it is difficult to see the entrees as they are covered in lettuce, sour cream, avocado and queso fresco. Be hungry as it is tough to reheat these dishes. Rice and beans are good with just the right amount of seasoning. Kids meals are also offered, my daughter enjoyed the quesadilla meal with rice and beans. A fantastic warm feel like you're in someone's home that is cooking for you. Hence the name "Tu Casa", there will even be street vendors coming in selling their goods. Ok so I had a best Mexican restaurant which was El Señorial then one day I walked into Discount Liquor and saw a old waiter I always loved from El Señorial named Marco. He told me about his entrepreneurship to open his own restaurant. I always wondered what happened to him when I stopped seeing him at El Señorial. I asked staff at El Señorial and they said he was in vacation. Low and behold he was not on vacation but starting his own restaurant. I didn't see Marco for some time so I didn't know where he was but missed his customer service and his attention to detail. At Discount Liquor he tells me about his restaurant and invites me to visit. I decide to take his invite and take my family to his restaurant and I have to tell you that I was not disappointed at all! Now I am not bias toward any place or person, either your food is good or it isn't, either your customer service is good or its not. Tu Casa offered me great customer service and great food before they even came to the realization that I knew the owner! The atmosphere is at restaurant hours is relaxed and family welcoming. Casual and friendly is everything I can ask for. The food is.... Well just beyond one's expectations. I've had all of the so called "Best" Mexican restaurants in Milwaukee can offer....from El Senorial to Botanas....Tu Casa is by far the BEST Mexican restaurant in Milwaukee.....the venue is beautifully decorated.....I had the Steak Chimichanga combo....it's a chimichanga, Burrito and Flauta with Rice and beans....the steak was very well seasoned, the rice was great, and so were the beans....it's also had guacamole on the side which was a win also....overall I give this establishment 5 stars....I'll definitely be back! read more
