They offer an extensive drink menu, and creative taco choices. Rice and beans are not automatically served on the side, as is customary when visiting most Mexican restaurants. Gluten free, vegetarian and vegan options are available, as are Pup Treats if you bring your furry friend and sit on the patio. I ordered the Carne Asada and Chorizo tacos, with the Carne Asada being my favorite. The chorizo was good, but the texture was a little off to me. Almost too ground. The Carne Asada, however, was fantastic. The marinade, salsa and adobo combination used in cooking the meat made it succulent and delicious. A lot of flavor packed into a humble taco. I stopped by Paloma on a Wednesday night, and it was surprisingly quiet, which made for a really relaxed dinner. I visited the Kinnickinnic location, but I'd love to check out the North Avenue location next to see how the vibe compares. The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment I walked in. I started at the bar while waiting for my friend, and I have to give a shoutout to the little details: they have purse hooks and outlets at the bar. As someone who's always carrying a bag (and usually needs to charge something), I really appreciated that thoughtful touch. Since it's literally in the name, I had to order a Paloma, and it did not disappoint. It was refreshing with a tajín rim that gave it the perfect little kick. I also tried the elote corn cup, which was tasty, though I personally would've loved a more traditional preparation with more cayenne & mayo. If you're looking for authentic, traditional Mexican tacos, this probably wouldn't be my first recommendation. I'd lean more toward places like El Beso or Botanas for that. Paloma feels a bit more modern and creative, and there's definitely a place for that too. The tacos themselves were good overall. My only disappointment was the mahi-mahi taco. The specials menu described it as being fried in cornmeal, so I was expecting a crispy fish taco. Instead, the fish was pan-seared with no cornmeal coating. It wasn't bad by any means, it just wasn't what I was expecting based on the description. I also wasn't a huge fan of the queso crunch taco, but that's more of a personal preference. The atmosphere was one of my favorite parts. The space is bright, beautiful, and the music set a fun vibe without being overpowering. You do pay for chips and salsa here but I think it's worth the $4, they are made in house. I ordered their beef taco pocket which is best described as their take on the Crunchwrap from Taco Bell. It was so good and filling! I took half home for leftovers. I also got the fat Elvis taco for dessert. It was good but also felt like something I could make at home. The space is nice and bright. Our server was friendly and even did separate checks for us. The food took longer than expected considering they weren't very busy when we went. This establishment was great for 68℉ weather in Milwaukee. The patio doors were open, the staff friendly, and the bartender/waitress gave me amazing protein suggestions. I opted to check out the Taco Pocket which looked like the Crunchwrap Supreme, however the Crunchwrap could not hold a candle to this after the first bite. It did NOT disappoint!!! I originally asked "Which should I get, the spicy chicken or the Cajun shrimp?" The bartender was transparent yet direct with her response which was, "The Taco Pocket is big (meaning I would not finish it all in one sitting). I do not like my seafood reheated. I personally would go for the spicy chicken." I appreciated the authenticity and chose chicken. I was extremely satisfied with my choice, however I did overhear my foodie neighbors saying the soy chorizo was amazing so that is on my list next. I tried both the Paloma (because of the company's name) as well as the margarita, and I personally prefer the margarita. The Paloma was not my speed, however they have a ton of other drinks to choose from. I went for the margarita because it was on happy hour, which the helpful bartender informed me of without me having to inquire. I did NOT have to ask. I would definitely come here again. Solid choice! Decided to stop in to grab a bite to eat with friends. We enjoyed our time at Paloma as they have a good menu selection and some TVs to watch the game or Dawson's Creek which was playing. The service was great and quick. We were pleasantly surprised that beer is $1 off on Thursdays (bottles only). I had the version of a Crunchwrap supreme which I will say was a solid choice. I would definitely grab it again. We opted for the pork which I found to be too sweet. Plus you have to pay extra for meat which put a total cost at around $20 for a glorified crunch wrap. Nice place to catch up with a friend for drinks as you can hear each other talk. The server was kind enought ot tlak me thorugh the drinks so i could make a decision. I got a $7 lemon for Tini Tuesday. It was so strong and so yummy. My friend got a Paloma for $7 too and she thought it was good. We got some tasty nachos to snack on. I personally didn't like th sauces. The red one smelt too smokey and the yellow one too much like habanero. This place feels more like a Mexican American restaurant but still great! We hit Paloma in Bay View for a drink and some appetizers around 7 on a Saturday, and were able to snag two seats at the bar with no wait time. The restaurant is on the smaller side, but uses its space very efficiently when it comes to seating. The bar even has little hooks for your purse, which is unexpectedly helpful. The beans & queso dip was really delicious, and the tortilla chips that came with it were pretty close to perfect. I ordered the G Spot cocktail because I love Aperol, and really enjoyed this strong, orange-forward drink. My boyfriend's paloma was a little more watered down than we expected as the namesake drink of the establishment, but was nevertheless still good. The restaurant was pretty packed but still wasn't to the point where we had to talk too loud to hear each other. I'd call this joint a no frills no sides I side taco truck. The food was good - I felt like the tortillas were made in house. I got a chorizo taco on corn and a beef taco hard shell. I also got a marg bc happy hour! Then I asked for a spicy marg -- it was in my top 3 fav spicy margs I've had (& I've had a LOT!) I had good service (there was a bartender, a hostess & a server - plus the staff in the kitchen) and the only thing I had to wait on was my ticket. As a long time fan of the original Paloma, I've been looking forward to trying the newer Bay View location. My mom and I were in need of a meal at that weird post lunch pre-dinner time after attending Art in Bloom so we headed over. It was shortly before 2pm. We entered and the first thing we saw was an empty host stand with a spray bottle and rag. Not entirely welcoming. After a couple minutes a woman came over, rushed, and told us that it would be at least 5 minutes for a table as they had just gotten slammed or we could wait at the bar or eat at the bar. Okay... I guess they were understaffed because they were not entirely full, but when we went to the bar it was unmanned. After several minutes we were able to place drink orders with a sober faced bartender. Some time later we placed our food order - three apps and two tacos. I can't lie. It took a really long time to get our first dishes, which did not even require cooking. I appreciate that the tostadas are assembled with precision and attention, but the ingredients are prepped ahead of time so I'm a little befuddled here. There was another time gap before we got some elote and one taco each. All the food was good. It is always wonderful. The new location is cute as hell and so much bigger than the original. All of the servers - except one man we saw in the dining room - and all the bartenders suffered from some form of resting bitch face. I hate to write it. I really do. I respect the owner and concept and the food. Maybe this was a one time thing, but would it kill them to be friendlier? The Tosa staff has never been like this in the most rushed of times (which is nearly always for that location). The restaurant was not full at any time when we were there and brunch had already ended. We didn't get out of there until after 4:30. That's just not okay. If I didn't love the food and admire the owner so much this would be a 3-star review. Come on Bay View staff, don't let her down. There are three huge competitors literally on your block. read more

We went around 5 pm on a Thursday. It wasn't very busy. Happy hour from 4-6 pm. Chips and salsa don't come for free - they are $4. That is partially the reason for the rating. I ordered the Mexican street corn quesadilla with spicy chicken . So good !!! My SO has a burrito such he said was good and the queso that came with was very good. Lovely new location for Paloma - much bigger space than the original location and I love the decor/ambiance! My husband and I met some family there and we were able to snag a spot at the bar for a drink while we awaited our table (and additional guests) - I like that you can get seated at this location before your whole party arrives unlike Tosa! As I am currently 8m pregnant I love the selection of NA cocktails (for a very reasonable price). We shared the appetizer of bean and queso dip which was very yummy! And everyone got their own tacos, I don't think one plate didn't get completely finished so the food was an absolute HIT. We also ordered the Fat Elvis Taco for dessert and I would highly recommend that to anyone with a peanut butter sweet tooth! I will definitely be back in the future and recommend to friends. I definitely think there is better Mexican food in Milwaukee but a casual sit down Mexican restaurant is a welcome addition to the north part of Bayview. I ordered two tacos for dinner. These were also pretty good and generously portioned. It took a while to get our check and initially we were accidentally billed for the wrong table. Everything got straightened away quickly and I know as a new restaurant they are probably doing a lot of training and learning. So glad this is here! Everyone loved it and we had tons of leftovers for people to take home (I may have over-ordered a bit). Staff was super accommodating ahead of time as we adjusted our order the week of. I was able to stop into Paloma off KK a few weeks after its opening. It was PACKED. Despite its busy atmosphere, I was able to get a seat at the bar within 10 minutes. Drinks were good and I love the retro glassware they use. I ordered the Tuna Tostada the start, and three Cajun Shrimp Tacos. All of the food was delicious. Bartenders were great and were able to accommodate my Mezcal Negroni that was off their menu. My biggest complaint is due to the wait for my food. Close to an hour. I assumed this was due to the massive crowd they were serving, as well as the lingering reality they had only opened a couple weeks prior. The pitcher seemed small, but there are three drinks in the pitcher per person and they serve the ice on the side in a separate pitcher. My friend ordered the nachos and a single chorizo taco, while I ordered the gringo, carne asada and spicy chicken tacos. It didn't take long for us to get our order and the bartender serving us was helpful and nice. The food seems pricy for a single taco, but it was well worth it. The carne asada was amazing, the chicken wasn't too spicy. The nachos my friend ordered were huge and enough to take home for a separate meal. I ordered a tofu and a brussel sprout taco and both were fantastic. I went with the pink crispy shell for the tofu taco and, though it was messy, it was so good! Really flavorful. I also tried the green mild hot sauce which was great. It's creamier, more like an avocado sauce than a salsa verde. I love that there are so many vegetarian and vegan options on the menu. Brige, our server is very nice and easy to talk to and very entertaining. I ordered Shrimp tacos and I was surprised how much is in that tacos, they are filled to the brim, I only ordered 2 but I'm already full after eating just 1 taco. The brussel sprout one was yummy as was the other carne asada one I ordered. I wish the drinks were better. Considering they are called "Paloma," I thought the drink would be amazing but it was only average, if that. The homemade chips are surprisingly light considering how dense they appear, but it's very hard to get enough salsa or guac on them bc of the bowls they use. I would probably choose a more authentic Mexican place over this one when it comes to tacos - but still, a nice option.
