When I first contacted them, they were very responsive, came out to our house multiple times to check it out, and even offered very reasonable and competitive pricing. Installation had a few hiccups because our house is old, weird, and probably very hard to work with, but we're very happy with our system. All the kinks that the team had to work through were fixed/solved in a very timely and quality manner. The only problem we had was getting updates between signing our agreement and installation. Understandably we waited pretty long to hear anything about installation due to the overload all solar companies were experiencing due to the federal tax credit being cut next year. Our drawings were back logged, not because of HI Power, but because of the approvals they were waiting for. But I had to reach out to multiple people at multiple times before someone could explain this to me. This really stressed us out for a bit that no one was getting back to us, but once they explained all the issues they were facing, everything worked out perfectly. I would still like to recommend this company compared to other bigger companies based off of my parent's and grandparent's experiences.

( two houses on one lot ) ( 440-442 ) Therefore Enphase would not honor the warranty. They said the micro-inverters had been moved ! Ms. Reed was extremely rude and unprofessional. Rather than trying to help, she ( relied ) on the fact that the same DBA was dissolved in 2017 following the death of her brother. Poor customer service................. I find myself constantly contacting them to come back and finish the repairs, but on multiple occasions a date is set and then nobody shows up. This just happened again last week. I feel quite frustrated. The technicians that I have dealt with have been great, but I am very tired of spending my time trying to get the front office to finish this repair request. While I picked them because they are based in Manoa and I wanted to support a local business, I cannot recommend them. Half of my panels are still not working and thus I am losing more money every month this goes on. Beware if they make promises to fix your existing system in order to get you to hire them.

Before meeting him, I spoke with two other solar companies. One rep came on extremely strong and the meeting felt very sales-driven and impersonal, which made it hard to trust the information being presented. The other rep seemed to still be in training and had to run nearly every question through a senior colleague. Working with Julian was a relief. He's clearly experienced and communicates in a smart, casual, and very approachable way. We also had a great experience with Jelly and Brandi from the Solartech administrative team--they were easy to work with and helped keep everything moving smoothly. Solartech's digital quote platform made comparing options and selecting our plan simple and easy to understand. We ultimately decided against Tesla batteries after learning about potential overheating issues, which can be a concern in a place as hot as Hawaii. We went with Enphase we're happy with our choice. The installation team was excellent as well. Nainoa, the lead electrician on our project, is a total pro--easy to talk to, great at problem-solving, and he helped us quickly figure out a battery placement challenge. He completed the electrical work in just a few hours. During the panel installation, the crew accidentally drilled through part of our roof which caused a small leak, but they responded immediately and repaired it right away. Everything was patched up and looks good as new. We really appreciated how quickly they addressed the situation. Post-purchase support has been just as strong. I had some questions about how our system was pulling power from the grid, and Julian took the time to explain everything. It turned out to be more of a settings preference than an issue. He followed up with helpful explainer videos and even called a week later to make sure everything made sense. Overall, we're very happy with the experience and appreciate the professionalism, transparency, and support from the whole Solartech team.

I explained to him what was going on. I scheduled an appointment, I told him I wouldn't be home when they are at my house. He told me they would call when they were there. The day of the appointment I was at work, I waited for someone to call , no call at all so I wasn't sure if they checked on my heater. I called Mark, left a message. No call back. So I called Peter, same left message nothing, no call back that evening the next day.... Nothing for days. Then I get a text with a bill, and asking me what my last name was. I text back please call me because I had questions what was done because we still didn't have hot water, still hot then cold. Communication with them is terrible!!!! Then when I did receive a call, I missed the call; called mark back, left message, again no call back. So this was frustrating so I called my plumber to check my water line if something was wrong they checked and said no. He said my mixing valve needed to be replaced, they couldn't do it, they told me the solar people should have checked on would have knew the problem. . So I called Mark and left a message of what needed to be done. How quickly he returned the call and told me it would be another $200 to replace it. So I asked him you bill me for painting the insulation, checked the solar etc. I question him about him painting the insulation then he asked me did you climb up to check...I can see it from my daughters window Mark! Anyways the plumber asked me why the anode was changed so many times? Anyways I called on my retired friend who was a repairman. He checked the solar, anode and said the mixing valve needed to be replaced, he was nice to pick up the valve for me and replaced the old defective one. I'm fortunate to have a friend that could do the repair! Now I have cold and hot water thanks to my friend!!! I will seek another solar company with better customer service with better customer communication.

Why is the consumer responsible for a tool YOU use?! Why can't you connect to my system with a laptop to troubleshoot why my panels are not generating any power? Unfortunately, I choose the wrong company!
