Very good company my solar fan died twice and even though numerous years later Ray solar still willing to replace my dead fan motor

Andrew was so nice to work with during the install. I am trying to figure out if this business is still open. I've called and left msgs several times (4 calls, an email and a text over 4 weeks) to have him come look at the fan he installed bc I don't think it is still working. No response at all. He was so nice, I'm thinking the only reason he hasn't contacted me is because he's no longer in business. Does anybody know? The install was a 5 star. The current follow up is 0 stars, which makes me sad to write. Andrew is still in business and as nice as ever!!! Just been sick. He's coming to check my attic fan next week! I initially purchased a 35w solar attic fan from Ray's 6 years ago. Was very pleased with the efficiency and quiet feature of the unit. It finally stopped working 2 weeks ago. I called Ray's and was told that the fan has a 25 year warranty and I would only pay for labor to restore it. Made appointment with Andrew, which he called to confirm the appointment on the morning of the repair. Told him the problem and he brought with him two motors that would work. He came on time and went straight to work. He gave me the news about my repair and options. He's a honest young man that is willing to do the work that is necessary. Gave me and price on up grading my solar roof fan with no pressure selling. Will look into saving for upgrade and will call Andrew to install it. Good job Andrew. Experience and service started off well but ended dismally. Andrew responded to a request for an estimate within a reasonable amount of time. He was very polite and professional. He was able to come out the next day. When Andrew arrived I explained my roof had very old tile shingles that were in danger of cracking if stepped on. Andrew simply viewed the roof and existing solar fan from his ladder. Because I had said most roofing companies would not repair this type of roof, he said he would check with he'd get back to me after he had a contacted c a couple of roofing companies to ask if they'd take the job. If none would take the job due to the risk, he would do it. He also recommended a larger solar attic fan. Then, silence. After a couple of weeks and no response, I called to ask for status. No response. Left a VM. Waited another week and called again. NO response. Left both my home and cell ph numbers. No response. Unless something has happened to Andrew, this was a terrible way to leave someone hanging. It's ok to say "no". It's not ok to not call back! Very unprofessional. read more

Andrew came to replace a ten year old solar fan motor that was installed by someone else in 2019 and recently installed another solar fan that previously held in a housing on the roof, almost like a cupola a broken noisy industrial fan. The new solar fan has greatly reduced the temperature in the room and is very quiet. He was able to retro fit the large unusual sized opening with some metal grate that looks great. read more

We had a great experience with Andrew (current owner of Ray's Solar Fans). He was very responsive via text/phone. I priced around and spoke with two other companies and really appreciated how Andrew took the time. Price-wise he was about the same as the others but WAY more responsive and just more pleasant to talk to. Andrew was able to replace our fan within 1-2 business days of speaking with him for the first time. We were happy and eager to get the job done ASAP. The job took about 1 hour, he informed us of the different tax credits and available rebates, and told us to call if any problems arise and what to look/ listen for. Man oh man what a service! Toyed with the idea of doing the install myself, but called Ray on a Monday during the heat of summer to see what he could provide, chatted for 10 minutes about everything including the tax breaks that come along with it. Told me he'd put me on the calendar with Andrew, his lead installer, at first availability and received a call that afternoon. Within 24 hours my Palolo home had a fully functional attic fan which seriously is a must have for any house. Dropped my mid day attic temp from 130F to 100F, and mid day internal home temp from 85F to 78F. Bummed I didn't get an install sooner! First, I have to start my review giving Andrew a thousand stars! He was awesome! He literally just left my house and I wanted to make sure I did this review before I forgot. My appointment was originally for 10:00, but Andrew called to apologize because he was running behind on his current project and said he would try to arrive between 11-11:30, he arrived later than that but called to let me know he was 10 minutes out. He apologized once again when he arrived and got right to work swapping out the motor. I asked him how much it would cost before he started and he said there would just be a charge for the service call. After he completed the repair he informed me that because I was so patience with him and all the delays, he wasn't going to bill me for the service call which I totally wasn't expecting but am very appreciative of. Someone had mentioned Ray's Solar Fans so I quickly went online and read his reviews on Yelp. They were all very positive with 5 stars so I called him right away to make an appointment. Ray was very responsive throughout the entire process. Whether you called him on his mobile or emailed him, he would get back to you right away. I probably asked him a million questions about the process, the fan itself and he clearly explained everything over the phone and/or through email. I scheduled an appointment for a week or so later since the house was getting tented for termites. He said it would be better to do it after the termite tenting. Over the phone, he mentioned that he's never late and it's true. In fact, he exceeded expectations by coming earlier than the scheduled time and got straight to work. He took a quick look inside and went on the roof to install the attic fan. He told my mother that he would install the fan so that it could pull the hot air throughout the house, which meant a few more holes to be drilled. My mother asked him if the holes would cause the roof to leak. He assured her that this wouldn't be the case and mentioned his experience in installing over thousands of attic fans. He finished the job in less than an hour, provided the warranty papers and was on his way. Ray is very friendly, responsive and knowledgeable when it comes to the solar attic fans. I would like to echo many of the positive comments about Ray and the service he provides. Ray is simply what everyone wants in a contractor, he is prompt, professional, delivers as promised, and his work exceeds expectations. Unfortunately, having dealt with different contractors in other trades recently, this kind of treatment and service is no longer the norm, so I commend him that his services and approach are excellent and unique nowadays. I know that sales must be made, and no one does a professional service for free. Ray has the professional integrity to be honest with what he plans on doing. He freely gives advice on low cost or free ways to improve the cooling situation. Someone else noted that he could make way more money, charging for unnecessary things or items. He advised me away from doing certain things because it wouldn't improve the situation, even if it meant he wouldn't be making more money. I had 3 solar fans installed over the last 9 years: kitchen, hallway bathroom and living room. I wanted 3 more but Ray said with the smaller master bedroom bathroom & enclosed lanai the solar fan would be too big for a small space then it would be too loud. The den is close to the back door and lanai door so not necessary. Ray was knowledgeable in letting me know what were better cooling options with other companies. I also like how Ray and Andrew would bring and replace motors by charging a small service fee so customers don't have to deal with warranty calls to mainland importer, wait 2-3 weeks for delivery and then find a handyman to do the labor. Last TH Andrew came to replace 2 fans with only one service charge fee of $45. Between lunch and dinner, the sunlight is so intense the kitchen & living room fan blades were spinning so fast no wonder the motors wear out in 5 years. . . feels 15-20 degrees cooler with both fans working again. Never had mold problem in the large bathroom ever since solar fan was put in. read more

I know he has been busy this summer with how hot it's been but he was still able to schedule our fan installation very quickly after we contacted him.
