The only problem I have with them is that they never returned my two calls. I left detailed voice messages. I only contacted them because they are on the preferred auto repair list from Costco. First off, I did not get any repairs done here. That being said, I had to get a brake and lamp inspection done to register my car after insurance deemed my car totaled (it wasn't by any means in my opinion). Read reviews and saw some places trying to sell you on other non necessities, not here! Scheduled an appointment for 3:00pm and was quoted at a lil over 1 hour time. Arrived at 2:45 and checked in, took my keys. I was out earlier than 3:15, extremely quick and friendly service here. As I said, I can't speak on their repairs, but in the instance I do need any I would highly consider taking my car here. Price was actually cheaper than any place I found at $110 for the brake and lamp inspection. Vince took care of me and I would highly recommend the guys at CAARS! PROS - They do good work CONS - Sold me a service I didn't need. The service I didn't need was a brake fluid replacement - I had just gotten it done about 7 months and 7,400 miles earlier. At the time I knew very little about cars and didn't know you only need to replace the brake fluid once every few years. Other than this one incident though, no complaints, they do good work, and the owner of the place seems like an honest guy. I'm going to give them the benefit of the doubt and assume that the guy who sold me the unnecessary service was a bad apple, but I still can't bring myself to give more than three stars to a place that ripped me off. read more

I went to a few different places to try and get an answer for my problem and there seemed to be no help other then suggestions of things I've already tried. We have been using Caars for years and years, but just realized I haven't posted a review. They are very professional, honest, quick, hardworking and great people. They have repaired our cars so many times and every time they hand back the keys, the car works perfectly and the issue never comes back unlike when I go to the dealer. They are reasonably priced and their customer service is great, too. They don't try to push repairs on you, but still tell you on the invoice what repairs are mandatory and what is just worn out and are unnecessary to replace. I really don't think they have ever screwed anything up on my cars and I have visited dozens and dozens of times. They do much better than the lying dealers that try to steal your money. Spoke to Dan on the phone and explained the air conditioning stopped working on my 2007 Dadge Ram pickup. He explained in detail what they would do to diagnose the problem and what it would cost. Vince checked me in, confirmed what they would do and the cost. I received a call about an hour later. They found a leak in one of the hoses from the AC compressor to the interior cooling unit. He gave me a new estimate to replace the hose and said they would have it done by the end of the day. At around 4pm Vince called and said the truck was ready. The bill was exactly as quoted and I thought very reasonable. They showed me the old leaky hose and explained where the leak occured. I also received a discount for being a AAA member. Overall this was a great experience. Dan and Vince were professional, friendly and courteous. I received a follow up call the next day to make sure everything was still ok and to confirm that I was satisfied with their work and service. They won me over. Vince and his team a awesome. I went in today because the dealer where I bought my car didn't want to change my battery although it was still on warranty. Honest mechanics - they charge accordingly as they don't cut corners. Expect their pricing to be at just below dealer pricing but they also take discount programs for repairs and such (use my AAA discount but noticed Costco program too.) I had a 2003 Highlander which they kept in working condition for 200k miles and never had any issues with the accuracy or quality of their repairs. When I got cheap and changed my rotors and brake pads at a different shop, those inferior parts only lasted half as long compared to what Caars puts on my vehicle. read more

So the only thing I'll share is their prices seem a little high and somehow their credit card machine didn't work but I'm trying to pick up my vehicle had I not had cash I would've been without vehicle had to Uber home 30 miles away and not been able to get to work the next day other than that the service was fine perfectly explained,but as far as the cost you can do better at many other places within a mile or two. read more

I've been coming here for YEARS and this review is far past when i should have written it. I recently purchased a new car and immediately brought it here for a check-up and repair. Vince then gave me a list of things from Tie Rods to new tires. He informed me that it would be less expensive if i was to get tires from somewhere else. Over the course of a couple weeks i would bring the car back for a day or for a couple hours because of something that fell apart over my car. It's a 30 years old car and it seemed like it hasn't had work done on it for a while. Every single time i brought the car in i knew it was in excellent hands; and every single time i came in to pick it up, i was walked into the back and shown exactly what was happening with my car whether he was showing me the valve he had replaced or the wires he had fixed. It made me feel awesome because Vince himself had been working on my car and he seemed genuinely happy and excited working on cars. This place Always makes me feel comfortable as i have never left unhappy with my car. I live almost 30 minutes away and its well worth the drive. They don't care about scamming me out of my money, they just wanted to get my car into the best possible condition that they could. I honestly would love to work here as well, the camaraderie of the workers and just the fun they seem to have while still being entirely focused on the vehicles entrusted to them. Overall, i love this place. They take really great care of me no matter how big or small the repair i require is. READ THIS!!! Yes I know 5 stars seems like some relative or something. This place is awesome and here is my story. I live near San Luis Obispo. My wife and I and 3 kids and luggage barreling down the 5 freeway in San Jaun Capistrano and BANG! it sounded like a gunshot from under the hood. No power. Coast off the freeway. Not Good. AAA came, tow truck and a pick up for the others and the luggage. (Dunnivins towing was incredible too) I had to pick a shop in an aren totally foreign to me. Came down to a big fancy shop and a small one that sounded good too. (based on their websites) Went small. Glad I did. We dropped the vehicle in the lot, the key and some paperwork through the door at 10:30 pm on a Sunday. Tow fellas took us to a hotel (a couple actually looking for less that $250 per night). I got a cab in the morning and came back to meet Vince. He said he would keep in touch as we went on to our San Diego Holiday in a rental car. He called mid day and explained what happened. I dont need to go into it here but it made sense to me and my mechanic back home who I was in constant contact with. The diagnosis, the amount of time he spent, the way he did the repairs, the cost all made sense to my mechanic at home. Vince was indeed treating us right. This was a major repair. It was done in 3 days at a fair price, the car has never run better and I waited 60 days and a couple thousand miles to write this review. Vince is good, honest trustworthy and fair. I was in a position where he could have totaly taken advantage of me andI couldnt have done any thing about it. He did not. Vinc,e we are gratefull. Came in with a brake problem and they diagnosed it as a broken sensor. The typical approach would be to order a new one and replace it which they warned me was likely and would cost over three hundred dollars. Rather than just do that first they disassembled the old one, cleaned it, and tightened all the connections. Voila! It worked again and the total bill was less than 40 bucks (and it took a couple of hours for them to do it). Honest, skilled, and good people. Go elsewhere and you are a fool. read more

Took my van in for an alignment and seeing rack dust boots on 9/17/15. Nice guys, however, when I got my car back it drove more like an off road jeep than the smooth ride it was before. Also the rack dust boots were held on by zip ties, even though the metal clamps that were on there when we dropped it off were perfectly usable. Had to replace two struts myself because the old ones convienently went bad after being at the shop for the hour. Not going back, nice fellas though. read more

I took my 2005 Pilot to CAAR's a few weeks ago and received great service for a worn idler pulley that was causing lots of noise. So, when the Pilot's battery died, I replaced it under warranty, then called ahead to CAAR's to have the charging system and a rough idle checked. Not only did they complete the check (OK) within 30 minutes of my arrival, they did not charge me. I did not expect that. Needless to say I will be back and referring my friends. I was able to get towed to the shop, they quickly confirmed it was my alternator that went out & went out of their way to get the job done to get me & my family back in the road.
